Our private property is located near the historic square of glen rose but feels like you are miles away in the country. Have fun kayaking, swimming, fishing, or just sit back and enjoy the views. We have 5 different spacious sites to choose from. Most have a tree break area in-between for privacy. Or rent all 5 and have the entire property to yourself. Updated river photos will be posted on our Facebook page, or message me for updates. Unfortunately, I'm not able to control the river. It goes up and down depending on rain and temperatures. The river gets pretty low during July and August. Wheeler Branch Reservoir(only a few miles from camp) is a great spot to swim and fish when the river water levels are lower. Very small lake that is good for swimming and kayaking with a dock, clear waters. We have 5 different sites. All of them overlook the Paluxy River, have rock fire pits, seating areas, patios, and stairs down to riverbed. You will have access to one of the most beautiful parts of the Paluxy River. In order to reserve a spot you must be 21 or over. This is not extremely remote place where you can party and go crazy. We want everyone to be able to sit back, relax and enjoy the views. Site Big Pecan: This is the farthest site upriver and has one of the largest pecan trees I've ever seen. The trees provide great shade cover during the summer. This site has an awesome rock patio seating area with 2 wooden Adirondack chairs overlooking the river with stairs to provide easy access down into the water. It also has a rock firepit with 2 wooden Adirondack chairs on a rock patio. Also includes a kids sand box, and a picnic table with shade umbrella, and numerous extras available to rent. Site 1 Limestone ledge: Firepit seating area overlooking the river with 4 Adirondack chairs and a shade umbrella, separate rock patio closer to the water overlooking the river with 2 wooden rocking chairs, stairs down to riverbed, huge pecan trees, kids play set with sand box, 1 picnic table, shade umbrella, and a 10' x 10' raised tent deck platform overlooking the river. Site 2: Firepit seating area overlooking limestone riverbed with 3 Adirondack chairs, picnic table with a shade umbrella, 10' x 10' raised tent / deck platform, stairs down to riverbed and shallow area of the river for kids to play. Awesome view of the river with trees / shrubs on each side for privacy. Site 3: Firepit seating area overlooking the riverbed, 2 wooden Adirondack chairs, 2 picnic tables, 1 shade umbrella, 2 sets of rock stairs to the riverbed, shallow area of the river for kids to play. For example, many purchase Big Pecan and site 1 together. Or sites 2 and 3. kayaks, wood, outdoor games, frisbee golf baskets and disc, grill and utensils, propane firepit, and other extras available for rent. Please select those during checkout Tips: Bring river shoes, nose plugs, swimming essentials. Parts of the river can be very slippery. Bring life jackets, especially for children. Bring the essentials for any camping trip including: sunscreen, bug spray, anti-itch meds, etc. Chairs and sunshades to sit in the river are always popular. The Paluxy river ranges from just a few inches deep to 5 feet deep in our camping area. There are more swimming holes a little deeper up and downstream. Water is available at the entrance. No restroom - pack in, pack out. Bring your own potty and water. If you are not familiar with dry camping do some research. There are all types of methods for restrooms, heating, cooling, etc. available now to make it enjoyable. Dogs are allowed on leash. Please do not allow your dog to roam freely if they are aggressive in nature. Clean up after them. Cancellation Policy: You may cancel up to 3 days before your stay for a full refund. 1 night at Pecans on the Paluxy - River Views

We had a perfect time at campsite three. We were able to watch the World Series game while grilling dinner on the beautiful fire pit overlooking the river. I saw that another review noted the traffic noise. Yes, there is traffic on the road by the site, but for us it was no problem at all. This was our second visit here and we are already planning our trip back!

Weekend Trip to Pecans on the Paluxy - River Views

We absolutely adored this site. The host has gone above and beyond with the extras. Our site included a nice flagstone patio, comfy Adirondack chairs, and a great view of the river. There is a very large tent pad covered with gravel, which was flat and easy to put our tent up. Our site also included kayaks and a hammock. Our residential area is under a bun ban, so we drove the 5 hours north to enjoy 2 nights chatting around a big campfire. It was worth every second. There is moderate road noise, but its not a "busy" road as one review mentioned. Unfortunately for us, there was an all day baseball tournament nearby, so we spent the day listening to cheering (but that's likely just a seasonal thing). We will definitely be back, and next time bring some friends.

Beautiful spot on the river and camp sites are very well taken care of and spacious. The baseball/softball lights and shenanigans led to some later and earlier noise and light than desired but that was in the reviews and we knew what to expect with an easy to reach off the road place. Fishing was decent for the kids and all very accessible down the walkway and on the limestone ledge.

The park is clean and everyone is so welcoming! Within walking distance of Dinosaur World Lots of activities for all ages. Pools are very nice —a little cold—but nice! The sites are great with full hookups and nice grass area

Weekend Trip to Big Rocks on the Brazos

We loved camping this weekend in our 5th wheel! Everything about it was fabulous. Becky is a great host. The only thing that was tricky for us, because we arrived after dark, was getting to the right road that lead into the property. When I called, they were very helpful and we slid right into spot #1. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we booked the site again and another spot for friends. I am definitely looking forward to our next adventure!

My Cub is only 21 ft, but deep sites for big rigs. Fairly level with shade.

3 nights at Big Rocks on the Brazos

Shaded sites all around for our 21 footers, yet nice and open grounds. Host was very communicative and available! Sites were deep for larger rigs. Pretty and peaceful setting with roads to walk down, and one can't beat the easy river access on a warm day. Full hookups too! Nice deep fire pits, but mine could've used some cleanup from previous campers. Nice mowed lots, but tons of leaves and some branches on the ground (to be expected this time of year on windy days). Nearby house to sites 3-4 was quiet and went unnoticed! Surprisingly, there's a bit of highway noise from miles away to the West/SW, but not enough to hinder a relaxing time. Plenty of picnic tables! I'm recommending and will return.

Weekend Trip to Bee Mountain River Resort

This is a great camping spot for families. The hosts made our stay easy and checked in each day with any updates and or to see if we needed anything. Being able to get firewood, kayaks, ice, and fresh water from the hosts was convenient. The views along the river are amazing. Cell coverage is limited, which we liked. Wildlife is present all around the property, the coolest being the owls, whose hoots would resonate and echo off the river. Speaking of the river, the water is very calm in front of the camp sites, with most allowing for pretty easy entry. Plan on bringing life jackets for kids. This is a camping spot we will definitely be returning to!

My family of three had a great time here. We were the only ones camping at RV sites and it was quiet all to ourselves. I also had a chance to fish for a bit and have caught a smallmouth and largemouth bass. I will be planning to come back in the future.

This is an excellent location! You can hear a little noise from the ballfields on sunday and the distant highway but heavily outweighed by the secluded spot, river access, and proximity to town

I enjoyed myself! Slept here for two nights. Its a big lot! Right next to the other two and separated by trees but still a big lot. Furniture is well kept. Replied to my messages promptly. Loved the river view. Saw Deer and fish as i walked the river. Theres a few baseball fields across the street and an adorable town right down the street with shops and restaurants.

This is by far and away our favorite place to camp! The river access is steps away and full of memories just waiting to be made! The land is clean and everything is well marked. It’s close enough to town to get whatever you need but feels like you are away from it all. Great place to fish and explore the Paluxy.

Paul’s site is great. The fishing was fantastic, the water was deep enough in this part of the Paluxy to fish, swim, and kayak even in September. Also really shallow areas for the very young kids. Renting kayaks and buying firewood from Paul was very convenient (saved a lot of room in my truck for everything else). Our family of 4 stayed at campsite #1. Great view of the river, felt private enough for having neighbors at the sites adjacent. Only critique for this spot is the Friday Night Lights - when the home team is doing well the train horn goes off quite a bit at the Glen Rose high school football stadium. Overall great trip, will be coming back.

We had an absolute blast tent camping this weekend! The sites were really big! I love that they deliver fire wood right to your site. Having a bathroom near was also nice! They were very friendly and communicated with us multiple times throughout the weekend. We hope to be back very soon!

Great site! A bit of road noise but the site is so accommodating and scenic it didn’t bother us. I loved that it had a sandbox for the kids and chairs around the fire pit already. We will come back.
