Convenient location out of sight of Study Butte but easy to get to. The shelter and fire pit were good and the bathrooms, showers, and sinks were very clean. Great views of the desert and the sunrise/sunset.

Great place for solo traveling. You're around others, with nice flush toilets and good showers (essential after a hot desert day). Retief will make sure you have everything you need! Very welcoming and he's putting a lot of work into caring for the property on behalf of the humans, plants, and animals who share it. Perfect location for early morning hikes in Big Bend and afternoon/evenings in Terlingua. The birds love this place and so will you!

We enjoyed our stay at Willow Creek which is very convenient to the west entrance of Big Bend. Reteif and Jay were welcoming and promptly responsive to our calls and questions. The small campground is quiet, layed-out well with clean restrooms and great shower rooms. There is also a convenient kitchen sink area for doing dishes. They are cultivating a nice bird habitat to view from the community porch. You can’t beat the views of sunrise, sunset and dark night skies. We will definitely stay here if we trek this way again.

Grounds very well maintained. The restrooms were super clean and the showers were amazing with high shower heads (if you’re over 6ft you’ll understand this). Also a kitchen sink with great water pressure that made it super easy to do dishes. Location was perfect. Just a bit off the main road but did not feel like it at all and felt very safe the whole time. Around a mile to the nearest gas station for ice, gas etc and around 4.something miles to Big Bend. After seeing some of the other campgrounds when we were exploring I’d definitely recommend this one for good location, maintenance of grounds, cleanliness, safety and if you don’t want to be around that many people (only 10 sites). We truly felt so spoiled staying at Willow Creek!

Beautiful location with well maintained campsites and bathrooms. I also enjoyed the bird feeder as it attracted a lot of different bird species in the morning, including pyrrhuloxia and scaled quail. The host was friendly and quick to respond to messages.

Loved the location - close to gorgeous Big Bend and other hiking areas! The showers are hot and the toilets flush and the facilities are clean and easy to access. The sites are on a beautiful parcel of land with shelters built at the sites to get out of the sun to relax or eat and fire pits. It was a great stay!

This is my second time staying here & it was just as fantastic as the first time! The bathrooms & showers were very clean! Showers have a large shower head & the water was nice & hot (& plenty of it!). Host was friendly as always! Great value for the money! Awesome property. I only stayed for a night and rolled in pretty late, but it was very clean and easy enough to navigate. The bathrooms are the nicest I’ve ever seen at a campground in a state/national park or Hipcamp.

We were doing the Texas Big Bend NP Back country Discovery Route (BDR) and this was a great spot to camp for the nite. We all took much needed showers (hot) and used the very clean real bathrooms and sink. Our site even had shore power and a water spigot! Would stay here again. Eat at the Chili Pepper Cafe if you stay here!

Great spot near the national park with beautiful views. The plots are spaced out nicely, and the toilets, showers and washing up point are really well maintained. It was naturally a bit busier and nosier on Saturday evening but the next night we basically had it to ourselves and it was really peaceful (amazing stars! Wildlife!) Things to note is there is no shade and you can hear the road a bit.

Excellent campsite! Electric and water hooks ups worked perfectly. The water ran clear and had good pressure. The camp was clean and even included a bucket of tools in case you forgot something. Showers and restrooms were great! Awesome location and I highly recommend.

The bus stop campground is a primitive campsite without being "too primitive" The facilities, showers and restrooms are wonderful outdoor type showers. And while I was there I enjoyed the ice cold shower. It makes you feel alive again. PS I choose to take cold showers , there is hot water available!!! If you are into stargazing, off-road driving, and being between Lajitas and Terlingua, then this place is for you. The scenic drives alone are amazing and this place puts you right in the middle of all the accessible trails, highways, and scenic points and overlooks that you could spend your vacation doing from this spot as a home base. We will definitely be back!

The stay at the bus stop camp ground was perfect being between terlingua and Lajitas. The sites don’t have any shade but not a problem if you have an awning or a canopy. Just make sure to take some screw in stakes for your tent/canopy. Restrooms/ showers were very clean. Was able to explore the ground and get some hiking in for a beautiful view of the whole campground.

Paisano Azul Ranch is on 30 acres located by Terlingua Creek. The property is just minutes from the Terlingua Ghost Town and a short 3 mile drive to the Big Bend National park. There is a fire pit on site for you to toast marshmallows or cozy up near, and you can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table provided at each site. The picnic tables are placed beneath shade sails. There are two nice and new desert tan flushing Porta-Potties on-site, as well as showers for guests to use. These come in handy after a long day hiking. We hope you'll enjoy the beautiful open sky sunsets, sunrises, and stargazing as much as we do. We are located just 3 miles from the entrance to Big Bend National Park. There are plenty of opportunities to get out and explore - you can hike, bike, canoe camp; kayak, off-road, swim, go horseback riding, visit hot springs, as well as visit restaurants, galleries, and listen to great music in Terlingua. There is something for everyone to feel free to bring the whole family. DIRECTIONS: Once you are on Road Runner Circle, go past the house on the left with the Christmas lights on. Rancho de los Arboles Muertos

With 160 acres located just off Highway 118, two miles north of Study Butte, 7 miles from Terlingua Ghost Town, 7 miles from Big Bend National Park and 16 miles from Big Bend Ranch State Park, Arboles Muertos is a perfect place for tent campers, small trailers and Class-B RV's and digital nomads to set up a home base for all the many activities in the area. Your privacy is our #1 priority, so our sites are spread out over the property and most are not in view of other sites, providing you with a backcountry camping experience, yet only a few minutes off the highway. For large groups, or those that are into a more social camping experience, we also have a cluster of three sites spaced about 150 feet apart. We have several spotlessly clean composting pit toilets on the property, all just a short walk from your site. All guests have access to our centrally located outdoor shower. Rancho de los Arboles Muertos gets its name from the 25 foot tall Eastern Red Cedar trees that are being salvaged from land clearing operations near Austin and "planted" around the property. We're located directly across the highway from Willow Mountain, with 800 foot sheer faces and rising over 1000 feet above the highway, making it one of the most prominent features in the area next to the Chisos of Big Bend. The property is covered in Ocotillo, hidden arroyos, tall bentonite dunes, volcanic ridges, dry creeks and the occasional fossil. Trail runners can easily create 5 mile loop over ridges and in arroyos without leaving the property. For the burners out there, the place will have an unmistakable deep playa vibe once all trees have made it home )'( Socialized dogs are allowed on leash, but we do have a high coyote population in the area, as well as other dangers to pets. Large groups are welcome and we also rent the entire 160 acre property for private events. Please contact us for more info. We are a completely off-grid property, so remember to bring water! In the event of heavy rain, the roads could become impassible for a few hours to a couple days. If we see a major storm in the forecast, we will contact you directly to discuss options.
