Nice piece of property. Great views and secluded. About an hour drive to Chisos Mountains and 1.5 hr to Rio Grande Village. Had a big group and accommodated us very well.

Beautiful views!
Beautiful area! The hosts were extremely nice and accommodating. My car broke down at big bend and the host were ready to offer help and check my camp while I was getting it fixed. Definitely a great expression of west Texas hospitality. I can’t wait to come back again

Reconnecting with the stars
Beautiful spot, isolated just enough to enjoy quiet and peace. Mark and Michelle were great hosts and provided an excellent site to ring in the New Year, with adequate supplies. Although when I first drove by the entrance road to the site I was concerned about my car being able to make it, my basic four-door sedan was able to get to the site just fine.

Happy Camper!
Property even better than we expected. Surrounded by Mountains. Sunrise and sunsets amazing. Mark gave clear directions on getting to the property. Roads were in good condition. We will be back.

Peace and quiet!
Mark and Michelle are wonderful hosts! Their property is secluded and quiet with amazing views. There is a level tent site, picnic table, fire ring, and enclosed privy (for use with solar shower and disposable waste bags). No shade so bring an awning. Hiked the host’s property and it was beautiful. Was able to shower at the Terlingua Resort Lodge (small fee) and had dinner at Bad Rabbit Cafe. This is a great winter getaway!

Mark & Michelle’s property was perfect for our trip to Big Bend. The site was situated among gorgeous mountains all around. Sunrise and sunset were amazing. They kept the site neat, easily accessible and amenities were exactly as described. Mark also went out of his way to communicate directions so that we would be at the correct spot. We will definitely book again for our next trip to Big Bend.

Best place to get away from crowds!
This place was awesome. It's soooo secluded, we were the only campers. It has beautiful views and close to Big Bend. It's a great place to get away. I can't wait to come back to visit!

My stay was great! Beautiful desert scenery. The nearby hills were accessible for easy-to-moderate hiking. I made good use of the shade of the "outhouse" during the hot part of the day and well as enjoyed the sunrises, sunsets and the view of the stars at night. I made an easy and enjoyable day trip to Study Butte, Terlingua and Lajitas.
Some local traffic on the nearby dirt road and some party and vehicle (motorcycle) noise from the nearby Terlingua Ranch lodge, but it wasn't an obnoxious amount.
I appreciated the availability of the non-potable water barrel and the flat tent pad. Firepit was well constructed and situated to block the wind.
I plan to come back. Thanks!

Large private area...you can see other sites but we barely heard anything because they were so far away. No shade, so be prepared, but that was expected for the desert. It is 1-1.5 hours to all of the main spots in BBNP; half hour is just to the entrance and the park is large.
We didn't use the fire ring (burn ban), grill, or non-potable water, but they were nice to have. Very nice camp toilet shelter that is brand new!
Loved the private remoteness of this site!

Awesome spot for a little secluded getaway. Just to witness the night sky without any light pollution was well worth the trip. Stars are amazing out there. Mark & Michelle were great host and quick to respond to all my question. Seriously, if you’re looking for a little secluded camping gateway from all hustle and bustle of life! Look no further.

Had a great stay, place is as described and has tremendous views. If you’re looking for some solitude in the big bend area that’s close enough to the lodge for a shower - this is the place.

Just as described
Exactly as described... a good little private piece of ground all to yourself. We could see some signs of other people way, far in the distance. The night was beautiful, cold and silent. There's a good little potty/shower area and a BBQ pit and picnic table. We camped in our car and had a good stay.

Boondocking heaven
We camped here in our 27ft Airstream for a week and we hated to leave. You have the entire area all to yourself so it is quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed incredible sunsets and great star gazing. Mark and Michelle were very responsive to any questions we had about the area. Can't wait to go back!

Amazing spot 30 mins from Big Bend
SHORT REVIEW:
REALLY cool spot, great communication from hosts, 30 mins from BB entrance, and awesome night sky with very few signs of civilization around. If you can camp without hookups, we recommend it!
LONG REVIEW:
PROS:
• Very remote with 360 degree views of mesas etc around you. We had a full moon on the nights we were there so I can't fully attest to night sky but even with a bright moon we were still seeing a good amount of stars. And the sunsets were awesome!
• Great communication from hosts. We didn't get to meet them but anything we asked was answered pretty quickly.
• 30 min drive to Big Bend with one gas station on the way. I didn't go inside, but it did look like it might have a few basic groceries, although I would not rely on it.
• The 55 gallon water drum was great and gave us way more than enough water to supplement our motorhome full of water.
• A private bathroom? Nice! It is a camping style no-water, no-flush toilet but if we didn't have our motorhome we would have been very pleased to have that!
• Picnic table, grill, and trash barrel too!
CONS:
• Being remote is a huge bonus but also comes with its own struggles of course...most of my cons are more related to that and the general area than anything.
• Very far from a real grocery store, with Alpine being the best nearby town for real groceries, gas, water fill, etc. But fortunately that is probably on your way out to the site so stop there first!
• Dust and very low humidity. There's a lot of dust and dirt, but that is just the area in general. Be ready!
• There are a lot of cactus around, both big and tiny. And that's very cool to see! We just spent a few minutes each day kicking away any little cactus that had blown into our main sitting area just to make sure the kids or dog didn't step into anything.
