This is not a KOA or a state park. This is a home hostel/campground. It's kind of rustic and we like it that way. You may see a roach, ant or cricket and you may also see a deer, fox or coyote. We are busy and not always able to visit for long. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Sagebrush HonkyTonk and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. No wild or excessive partying here please and please remember: no smoking. WE NOW HAVE A COVERED PING-PONG PLAYING AREA ! Other details to note: Street parking. 2 acres in the hill country in a small wooded neighborhood. I live in the brick house, have several garages and sheds, etc on property as well. There are also a few honey bee colonies scattered on the property. Open grassy areas as well as tree covered areas. This is a quiet neighborhood and wildlife is abundant. You may hear coyotes and a great horned owl at night. There is a honey bee themed gift shop on site that is regularly open Thu-Sat 10-6 that offers tastings and tours. There is a restroom and small sink area connected to store that is open 24 hrs. There are 2 LONG RV spots up to 45 feet in length BUT, they are back in only and the turn around area is tight if you have a BIG RIG. The 2 camper van sites are (Site 1) 32' and (Site 2) 22'. Ask me if you want to know more! It helps me to approve you more quickly if I know how tall/long your RV is. Especially if you are longer than 24 feet. You can text me info. There is an outdoor shower area near the dark brown tiny house that is a cold water shower only! :) Ask me if you need towels and/or body wash, etc. (I don't mind helping out so you can travel lighter!)

Weekend Trip to Urban Hideout

What a peaceful, cozy, comfortable spot, with the kindest hosts. The cabin was perfectly appointed. I needed a place to rest and recharge and I got exactly that. The outdoor shower was the icing on the cake. Pretty much nothing better than being sheltered by a wise old oak tree as you wash off that road dirt. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to see the more peaceful and humane side of Austin!

Everything was perfect! The view from the hill, the river, the sky, the fishing, the place itself, and the host—all combined to create a wonderful, unforgettable experience for our entire family!

I didn't end up making it to my scheduled weekend over Thanksgiving and while I enjoy supporting local businesses and would even donate (it was $100-120 for the four days), when I texted the host this, James, about using those 4 days another time and thanked him either way..he didn't have the decency to respond at least saying yay or nay it wasn't doable or it was...just ignored. Either way would have been understandable, but I just donated $100 or so to your local business...real neighborly.....Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Bud.

We just finished up our overlanding trailer and wanted to find a spot a few hrs away from home to test it out. While Texas really doesn’t have a whole lot of public land, we thought an RV park would be perfect for the first trip. Our neighbors recommended Mason Tx to us and this park came up and looked perfect! Well sure enough it was!! We were immediately greeted upon entry and the gentleman was incredibly nice and helpful! Got to our site (4) and it was beautiful!! Nice and quiet with a gorgeous view! We even had the same helpful lady who answered our phone call, come out and check on us to make sure we were all set before the super cold front came in! 10/10, will definitely be coming back!!

Weekend Trip to Hill Country Glamping Photo Safari

My husband, dogs, and I stayed in The Hideout and it was the perfect cozy space with everything we needed. Communication was top notch and river access for fishing was a definite perk. We saw plenty of wildlife during our stay as well.

Ranch 3232 is a great option for camping and still having some nice amenities close by. Clean private bathrooms with showers. Water stations. Cute land to walk around on. The goat was hilarious and added a fun touch. The best view is near the dumpster or up on 3232. Highly recommend this campground. The host is very polite and communicates well.

1 night at Hill Country Micro-Farm Glamping

We really enjoyed our stay! Just a few notes for future guests: the yurts are located in the owners’ backyard, so there isn’t a ton of privacy, and the bathroom doors don’t fully close since they don’t lock. The property has lots of fun animals, which adds to the charm, though a few did get out during our visit (a chicken, the dog, and even the pig) — a little stressful since we had our own dogs with us, but admittedly, waking up to a rogue pig was pretty thrilling. Last note, the heater in yurt 4 doesn’t work. 7/10

I had the best time with my little family in our very first camping trip here. Everything was well kept the most beautiful views and scenic river. The evem owners checked on us and asked if we needed anything and I had rembered that our kids cot stayed behind and could use an extra one which they graciously brought by for kiddos. We loved the community feeling, yet still with had privacy and the convenient amenities. We will be back again 100%

Sheri and Johnny were extremely kind and hospitable hosts. We enjoyed the privacy of the campsites that were available (couldn’t see any of the other guests unless you went looking)! Very convenient if you’re looking to visit Hamilton pools which is just five minutes away. Also our favorite point was that it’s in an area with little/less light pollution from the city and so we were able to get really nice stargazing views!
