Gonzales, Tx is where the first shot during the Mexican war was fire that today has branded there own flag of a cannon with the saying "Come and Take It". The property has grasslands on a slight hill just enough to give an amazing view of the surrounding landscape. We are currently building our property up living off of the grid in our 5th wheel. We will be building a 5 acre fruit and vegetable farm with plenty of activities to do. If you like bees, or would like to learn a little about them, we have our own hives here where we are currently raising about 40,000 of them. Questions about growing, we can see if we can answer them. The property is easy access right off the hwy and only a few miles to town where activities range from hiking, swimming, golfing, history exploring, kayaking and many more activities. What went well? EVERYTHING was better than described or expected. My wife and I were met by Bo (sorry if not the spelling). Smiling from ear to ear and just an overall wonderful person. He helped us take our things to our cabin and described different things that we could do. Everything from a scavenger hunt to harmonica lessons. Beautiful property nestled away from traffic or prying eyes. The cabins are spaced well far apart so you do not feel like others are in your business. I could not believe how well stocked the cabin was. Plenty of blankets, heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioning, cookware, microwave - this was literally the easiest camping experience I've ever had and I'm 55 lol. They also have a fire pit area for each individual cabin to make the experience even nicer. We spent 2 evenings and just had a blast. There are plenty of places to get wonderful food, beverages or any other thing you and your family might need. This is a must stop for camping on a wonderful level. Each cabin also had its own 5 star outhouse and 5 star is the truth! Absolutely cleaner than public restrooms with every necessity. I highly recommend this camping spot!

We had a great time camping on Billy’s land. The river was beautiful and the campsite was spacious and appointed with a fire pit and chairs. Firewood was provided for a low price. The goats and sheep were friendly and cute.

This place is awesome one of the best hip camps we have ever been to. The little peninsula right off the river was beautiful and lush accompanied by canoes that are available to rent and firewood available for purchase as well. This is a Tip top establishment that I will definitely be visiting again and again for times to come. From wild beavers two cows in the river this place has it all!

I love camping here, it is very peaceful, everything is clean and organized. Hollie and Davey are very nice and always checking on you. Favorite part their Director of guest services (their lovely dog Shasta) is beautiful and very friendly. I will keep coming here, totally worth it for a getaway camping.

We absolutely loved camping here. Both Hollis and Beaux are AMAZING hosts. Extremely responsive and kind people. The site was beautiful. We stayed at site 4, surrounded by trees, but still able to see the stars. Beautiful lights wrapped around the tree and equipped with a grill, fire pit, and picnic table. It was truly such an amazing campsite. The outhouses were well maintained and there was even a hot water shower, also well maintained. The whole campgrounds itself is beautiful and has such a wonderful vibe. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

Great private location with access to pump water. Very peaceful with a lot of animal sounds. River has a boat you can use, I wouldn’t swim in it lol. Billy was accommodating and nice. Trash can at entrance. No bathroom or shower. Prepare your own.

Camping on Billy's land was so relaxing, the location is amazing next to the Guadalupe river. The other sites are far enough where you dont even notice anyone around, and the sheep/goats were so amazing and really topped off the trip. I would highly recommend this space to anyone interested and I will definitely be returning!

We brought our own camping chairs, but there were also chairs available and picnic tables.

We stayed at one of the tent sites and it was great. Very nice area, surrounded by trees, quiet, dark, perfect. The shower and outhouse were well kept and the hosts were friendly and helpful. I'm very happy we stayed here.

We loved glamping in our RV at the Happy Horse Ranch. Our hosts were SOOO helpful with maps, recommendations and hospitality. We loved the ukulele song Hollis came and played us at our campsite. She was so talented and created a song based off of our conversation. It was unbelievable. Great people, great place. My family and I will be back.

This was a repeat visit and it was even better! The campground is beautiful, the river is beautiful, Billy is so so helpful and available and always makes a great experience for the kids; it’s a perfect spot. I also love the privacy you get at each campsite so you really get to disconnect

This place has been around a while for horse stays and it shows. The set up is really great with 2 composting toilets, a place for washing dishes with hot water and a shower. The hosts are some of the most responsive and most well organized that I have seen, which matters enormously. They were ready for us, guided us to our spot and even made sure we backed in our popup trailer without issue. Gave us a map with local highlights and provided enough to have a fire - wood, firepit, chairs. Electricity and water are at sites 8 and beyond along with a picnic table for meals. The place is just next to McKinney Roughs Nature park which offers lovely hikes, Bastrop is 1 minutes away with great food for a small town feel, and Austin about 20 to 30 with of course endless options.

Y'ALL, the beauty, the nature, the attentiveness of the host. An absolute must campsite! My family and I had a fabulous time and can't wait for another trip. Add this to you must-go campsite, it is completely worth it.

A little slice of heaven! Billy was super nice and the land was very private - no other campers nearby it was just us on the river. The grass is so green and luscious it was very pleasant.

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently I am almost always on the property and try to have my phone with me while campers are on site, just let me know what you need and I will do what I can to accommodate you Rentals include paddles and however many lifejackets you need. 12-14ft Jon boats $30 unlimited days Tandem (double) kayaks $25 unlimited days Single kayak $20 unlimited days Tub of mixed firewood ( pecan, hackberry, sycamore and chinaberry $15 Tub of split pecan wood $20 $5 cash discount off total but can also accept Zelle, cashapp, PayPal and Venmo.

The cows and pigs are all rescue animals so, where as they are adapted to humans being around them, they are very shy and petting them is not allowed. The dogs, cats and goats, on the other hand, are very friendly and love to be pet and fed treats. We are located outside of Dime Box, TX and are a 30 minute drive from the quaint, artist village of Round Top, and 12 miles from Lake Somerville SP. Our property has equal parts rolling pastures and wooded thickets and ravines. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and gorgeous views of the Texas horizons....time your stay just right and you can stand directly between the sunset and the moonrise! We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property. We have a new construction Bath House on site for restroom needs w/ hot showers and composting potties plus a cold-water sink w/ non-potable water suited for washing produce, hands, dishes or camping gear.

The property borders a small creek and has abundant trees, and wildlife. Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)! Guests are required to communicate estimated time of arrival well in advance. When arriving, make sure to meet Aaron or a designate at the red gate before entering further into the property. If tent camping, please do not bring glass containers, also you must pack out all garbage and waste. Inquire ahead of time to see if firewood is available to be gathered on site, or if you will need to bring your own. No uninvited guests without 24 hour prior approval, and additional guest fees paid. Also please no more than one dog per site.
