Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Our 100 acre heritage property has been in the family for over 150 years. Since 2017, we've been operating our land as a Vegan, Regenerative-Agriculture Farm & Animal Sanctuary. We currently have 2 dogs, 3 cats plus a herd of 31 Cows, 4 Potbelly Pigs and 2 Spanish Goats. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and gorgeous views of the Texas horizons....time your stay just right and you can stand directly between the sunset and the moonrise! We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property.
We have a new construction Bath House on site for restroom needs w/ hot showers and composting potties plus a cold-water sink w/ non-potable water suited for washing produce, hands, dishes or camping gear.

2. No wondering by the upper level cabins (these are private property). Showers are behind these cabins. Please respect staff spaces.
3. If you have an extra vehicle, please park it with your other vehicle.
4. If you have a 3rd extra vehicle, let us know and we will direct you where to park it.
5. Please be courteous of other campers space and road access.
6. All kids are free. If your kids are 17 and under do not add them or it will charge.
7. If you have an impairment please let us know before booking so that we can ensure a space is ready and suitable for you.

This cedar cabin was built in the late 1950's and was the first building in Birch Creek Subdivision and was used as the real estate office when selling land for Subdivision. Joy Moore bought this fixer-upper in 1986 when the oilfield went under, at a youngster in her early twenties and has owned ever since. Lake Somerville is known for the best fishing lake in Texas. Deer run plentiful on the property and will come up close and personal when fed corn. So, stop and pick up a sack or two of deer corn before arrival. The closest city is about a 20 minute drive to Somerville so make sure to have everything you need before camping.

1. Check in is before sunset. We ask that all Hipcampers wait at gate for staff to guide you to your location for safety reasons. Contact us if you arrive ahead of schedule.
2. No wondering by the upper level cabins (these are private property). Showers are behind these cabins. Please respect staff spaces.
3. If you have an extra vehicle, please park it with your other vehicle.
4. If you have a 3rd extra vehicle, let us know and we will direct you where to park it.
5. Please be courteous of other campers space and road access.
6. All kids are free. If your kids are 17 and under do not add them or it will charge.
7. If you have an impairment please let us know before booking so that we can ensure a space is ready and suitable for you.

This cedar cabin was built in the late 1950's and was the first building in Birch Creek Subdivision and was used as the real estate office when selling land for Subdivision. Joy Moore bought this fixer-upper in 1986 when the oilfield went under, at a youngster in her early twenties and has owned ever since. Lake Somerville is known for the best fishing lake in Texas. Deer run plentiful on the property and will come up close and personal when fed corn. So, stop and pick up a sack or two of deer corn before arrival. The closest city is about a 20 minute drive to Somerville so make sure to have everything you need before camping.

Within 30-45 min of college station, this was the perfect weekend getaway! Site 22 was spacious and had good hammocking trees! It was very close to the restroom with was a great bonus. We spent the day in the little boats on the lake, and hiking the beautiful trails. Julie was very helpful and kind and brought us firewood along with a visit from the cutest dog! Lots of room to park our cars, the trees blocked the wind very nicely. You can’t go wrong with any site at 5D Ranch!! Already planning another trip sometime soon!

My wife and I had an amazing time at The Magnolia. Jennifer and her husband were super friendly and treated us with kindness. They greeted us and gave us a short intro.
The set up in the tent house was full of thought and essentials. Flashlights, towels, matches, and first aid kit. They also had some outdoor games. Along with coffee cups and a French press! ☕️
We also bought some eggs and they were DELICIOUS! The eggs are a must! It completes the experience. 🍳
Our dog had an amazing time outdoors and really enjoyed his time out there! 🐾

Quietness has a new definition at 5D Ranch! Miles of forest-filled trails with serine camping possibilities everywhere! Julie’s deer is so tame it’s like a family pet. Weather doesn’t matter nearly as much as at other campsites, due to the more firmly-packed sandy access roads.

I brought my wife here for Valentine’s Day, and we both had an amazing time. The property where the campsite was, was beautiful and serene. It was just the type of environment that we needed to ground ourselves and find some peace. We stayed at Terrys camper site and words can’t described how comfortable, clean, and cozy the place was. The restrooms were very clean and taken care of. This was the best experience I’ve had camping/glamping. This was my wife’s first time going camping, since she’s a city girl, I was somewhat worried on the experience, but it’s safe to say that I won her over to the outdoor life. Thank you Bridget for hosting us. We will be back!
