NO FISHING As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Weekend Trip to Grapevine Springs Retreat

Had my son's boy scout patrol campout there this past weekend and had an amazing time. Wilson could not have been more hospitable and went above and beyond to make it a campout everyone would remember. He even guided us on a ~3 mile hike of the ranch and brought a friend with him to help the boys learn some new knots. The ranch is absolutely gorgeous and our campsite was perfect, nestled among a canopy of trees by a dry creekbed. Could not recommend this place any more, we will definitely be back.

You are right, Site 7 is a the perfect site for a sunset view.

We always love our visits to Woody's place. This was our fourth year visiting and this time we brought my parents who absolutely loved it. We enjoyed our stay at Seco Ridge! The #1 secluded spot worked out well and was pretty private and quiet. We don't need all the common amenities provided but for those who do, its a nice option. There were a few times communication with the host was delayed, and while WiFi was available, the password was not posted. Otherwise, a great spot! Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely gorgeous area. I loved the ease of booking and getting to the campsite, and was very happy to see the chickens and a sweet cat when going to use the available restroom. Weekend Trip to Laf ranch

LAF Ranch felt like a little hidden gem of Texas. My wife and I ventured out here for a night. We had planned to go to Lost Maples to see the fall colors but decided not to go after seeing the beautiful bald cypress trees by the creek at LAF Ranch. The colors were stunning and the weather was beautiful, we had the whole Big Open campsite to ourselves so it felt like our own little oasis. Thanks to Fritz for providing access to such a wonderful location, and for being such a pleasant host! We’ll definitely be back!

We had an absolutely amazing time! It was the perfect short trip from San Antonio — just far enough to escape the city, relax, and take in the beautiful night sky. The peaceful, natural setting made it easy to unwind and reconnect with nature. There are plenty of options for every kind of traveler, from traditional camping spots to cozy bungalows you can rent. Such a great place for a quick getaway and some serenity under the stars! 🌟

So far my favorite tent camping spot within 2 hours of San Antonio, TX. Keep in mind this is a remote location. Don't expect to plug in an address into your phone and follow the route - there is no cell service/phone GPS, but Fritz's written instructions and maps are enough to get you there. Plan ahead of time and you shouldn't have any problems. There are several shallow rivers that you must cross to get to the campsite. I would recommend an SUV, truck, or cross trekking vehicle; we took a Subaru Outback and had no issues whatsoever. The campsite is amazing. It's perched right next to the water, with a fire pit and plenty of flat ground to place a large tent. Beautiful views, and there is a canoe to take on the water. There is no light pollution, and it was silent at nighttime. It is the perfect place to relax, unplug, and unwind. There is no running water, electricity, or bathrooms, so plan accordingly. My wife, dog, and I loved how remote/quiet this place was. Our only regret is not staying more than one night!

The drive to the ranch and onto to the ranch was beautiful and scenic. . My kids love the tent camping. We met Fritz at his Cabin to go over a few rules and regulations, a very nice gentleman. My family and I would definitely recommend LAF ranch.

Weekend Trip to Seco Ridge Campgrounds

This was mine and my husband’s second time visiting the Seco Ridge Campgrounds. This year we stayed in the Bunkhaus. Our best friend and my cousin also joined us for the adventure. The Bunkhaus is nothing short of incredible. It’s more of a tiny home with an awesome patio area with fun lighting, games, and luxury lounging. A HUGE storm came in while we were there and the Haus had no leaks, nothing like that- it is a true experience. The interior is gorgeous with drywall and recess lighting. The bed was incredibly comfy. Owners Woody and Elaine were so very accommodating and kind. They got us fresh firewood and even fresh eggs from the ground’s chickens! In the Haus, there’s a microwave and large mini fridge for snacks and the grounds have a communal fire pit, swings, outdoor kitchen, running water, hot showers and toilets- I have to wear orthodics temporarily which makes it difficult for me to walk and Woody and Elaine set up a chemical toilet right outside the door of the Haus for me. INCREDIBLY accommodating. The Seco Ridge campground itself is the only place I have ever seen the Milky Way with the naked eye. I do astronomy photography and I was able to take some incredible photos. My family and I sang karaoke outside up to quiet hours time at 11, and had an overall BLAST! The Haus is air conditioned, heated, and has just the quaintest and most fun ambiance. It is a pleasure every year and we can’t wait to come back again soon! We had the best experience. Off grid, full camp mode. We loved the land and the peace of it all. It's not far from us. Plan on being a regular. ❤️❤️❤️

This place has a special place in my heart. Such an amazing adventure just getting to the ranch. Some of the most beautiful/ ethereal views. Fritz is an amazing host. This is an untouched raw nature property with not a light in sight other than billions of stars at night.
