Waterfront RV Port on Bolivar Peninsula. Water, sewer, and electric (20-30-50 amp panel) Covered RV spot with a screen porch. Property is fenced and dogs are welcome. The screened has a dining table with chairs, and also stores some patio chairs to use on the property. They are really great to sit on the dock! There is also a charcoal grill and a crab trap for you to use. (You need a fishing license and bait. Chicken bones works great!)
Fishing is great here... the canals have been dredged and folks are catching right of the back of their lots. Community fishing area is on the end of both Van Sant and Mabry, Mabry has a boat ramp. These you cast right off a drop to the intracoastal. Beach Access via community gate at end of street. Combination for those will be shared in arrival instructions.
Spot is a residential lot... It is 60 x 130. Canal City is a quiet residential area. The back side fronts on the water. You will probably see more seagulls and purple martins than people.
We have weekly discounts. Message me and I can go over them because the Hipcamp platform makes them difficult. It works out to approximately 7 nights for the price of 5.
Be prepared: Bolivar has mosquitoes. This is the coast. If it has rained they can be really bad. The county sprays on a regular rotation but it can be bad. They tend to swarm when you pull in. Spray helps. We also send recommendations for what sprays work best for us in the arrival instructions. We do not offer refunds for mosquitoes. We have never found them unmanageable, and the screen porch keeps them almost entirely away.
We are east of Rollover Pass. Easiest to arrive through Winnie and south on 124. Unless you are coming from Galveston or southeast Houston it is probably shorter. The ferry is fun (dolphins and such) but the waits can be long. Also: Do not bring loose propane tanks or gasoline cans on the ferry, they will send you away. (Propane on RV is fine, but that is all they allow)

Vinton RV Park is a premier RV park nestled in shaded Oak Trees just off I-10 in Vinton, Louisiana. We are 20 minutes west of Lake Charles just down the road from Delta Downs Raceway.
We have a variety of back-in and pull-through sites that include concrete, gravel, and grass pads. We have 30 & 50 amp sites that have electricity, water & sewer. Our pads are spacious, and offer enough room for you and your family to enjoy the outside.
Our amenities include FREE laundry, WIFI, and a swimming pool. We also have a recreational building where you can sit, relax, and play some games. We work hard to ensure a family-friendly atmosphere that encourages outside gatherings as well as dedicated quiet hours so you can rest easy knowing you are in a safe and welcoming environment.

The campsite is lovely. We especially appreciated the fenced in yard because of our dogs. The little screened cabana was also a nice touch, and the area is nicely lighted at night. We will definitely plan to stay here again.

We loved staying there. Views were spectacular. We got to meet Glenn and his wife and had wonderful conversations. Glenn gave us information on the area and gave us some recommendations on the area.
Glenn and his wife were not the intrusive type as I have heard about on some other HipCamps.
Glenn, thanks for the recommendations on where to buy some boudin and other Cajun food to bring back home. I bought a lot and can not wait to dig into it.

Simple, straight forward place to camp right on the ocean front. Friendly folks at the local houses/campsites. Be warned, it’s far removed from any real kind of civilization - but THAT is exactly what I look for. Great communication from the host. I would definitely stay again.

Suntastic exceeded my hopes. It's very clean, spacious, and outfitted with everything one could possibly need. The hookups worked great. The outdoor shower is a bonus. The strung lights come on and go off at the right times. This host has gone out of their way to create a welcoming, lovely, comfy and safe place to enjoy your RV and the beach.

It’s so peaceful! We had a rush stay, got there right at dusk. Yet…it was oh so beautiful. The morning fog off the pond was spectacular. The fire pits are great. The horses! I am really looking forward to going back someday! My wife loved it too! Her first time tent camping ever!

Ahhh this place is so special and unique !! My first time staying in an animal sanctuary. You can tell the animals are incredibly happy there and treated well as everyone of them is friendly, including the emus which is not something I expected! The property is beautiful and Alyssa is incredibly sweet and welcoming. The stars of the show are definitely the animals, the cutest tiniest little piglet I ever seen called snoot, two beautiful horses, big fluffy dogs that’s love people, a pack of goats that are so funny to watch. There are also ducks, roosters, pigs.
This is a must go to for any animal

This was one of the most beautiful farms I have ever been at. It was so magical! Our little spot was right next to the pond and the bathrooms were an easy walk. I absolutely loved getting to see all the animals. And the dogs were so sweet!

There’s just not enough good things to say about this place. Less than 5 minutes off the main Interstate is nestled this country oasis. Quiet! Serene! Friendly! Ample space! And animals! Lots of them, from goats to emus to turkeys to horses to chickens and on and on. This is a classy spot without the clutter of your normal Hipcamp. This will be my go to, when passing through, the geaux !!!

I have stayed here several times. Our host Jennifer is the absolute best. The property is well maintained in great proximity to the beach, the ferry, food, and groceries.
If you need to escape for a weekend or you need a Basecamp for a week long galveston adventure, this is the place to stay.

What a charming sanctuary that the residents share with us hip campers. Horses, emus pot belly pigs and more roam freely. My site was private and faced a pond. The bathroom was lovely. Recycling a plus! If I had been a young person looking to learn about taking care of animals and gardening, I would have stayed forever. But I am old, did all that already and it's time to go home.

It was a great little spot to be near the Gulf breeze and sounds of the waves!
The camping areas are well maintained. Nice little path to the beach from the site.
We walked along the beach to Peveto Woods and spent time on the trails- maintained but also somewhat primitive.
It was a great stay, even though we had to leave early because a storm with high winds coming through.
Glenn was very responsive and helpful.
We recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quirky, laid-back coastal experience.
