Weekend Trip to Happy Horse Camp & RV Getaway

I had a really great time camping here. Traveled down from Kansas City in my camper van, and was welcomed by both Beaux and Hollis, who were incredibly nice, and accommodating people. They made sure to give me a tour of the campsite, and gave me a list of items to discover in a scavenger hunt through their very well-cared for forest walk, which was full of wildlife and beautiful scenery. As a musician coming through for some rest, and inspiration.. I found The Happy Horse to fit my needs perfectly. This place is truly a gem. I could not recommend staying here enough, and will 100% be back. Thank for everything Hollis & Beaux! Brandell

I loved camping on this peice of land Great amenities and the horses and other animals really bring this place together Small creek/river down a small path made the morning soooo relaxing and the patio area made for a great place to sit and relax !!! Will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to McDonald Farm

We had such a great time at the McDonald Farm!! The location was beautiful and there’s river access within walking distance. The hosts were extremely kind and welcoming to all of us. Additionally, the other campers were very nice as well. The showers were awesome and felt very clean. They provided delicious coffee that we had every morning and fire wood for our fire pit for no extra cost!! Very generous and sweet hosts. We’d absolutely visit again!

Weekend Trip to Happy Horse Camp & RV Getaway

I would highly recommend staying at the Happy Horse Camp! The cabins have a lovely, quaint vibe and are clean with a solid set of amenities. Showers and bathrooms are available, and the on site nature walk with the scavenger hunt is very fun. Beaux and Hollis went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. I proposed to my fiance and they helped set up the proposal location on the nature walk. My fiance was very suprised and it made for a magical day:) Huge thanks to Beaux and Hollis for their help and responsiveness.

Weekend Trip to Ranch 3232

3232 is a good spot to land after a day at Pedernales State Park -- only ten minutes from this campground. My son and small dog stayed at the Comanche Glamping Tent and were comfortable and had a good time. I initially worried that we were too close to the road as it's one of the first sites in the campground, but it got very quiet at night so that wasn't an issue. This tent is right beside the bathrooms, kitchen and communal fire pit area. This was convenient, and there were some campers who stayed there past the designated quiet hour of 10pm, but it wasn't an issue for us.

Enjoyed our stay here with my husband and our 2 dogs! Jana allowed us to check in early since no one camp before us. Definitely will come back!

RJ and Samantha were attentive, responsive hosts. The property was beautiful and close to the San Gabriel River. The camp kichen and showers were a great feature. And I got to meet their horse Ginger! I recomend it.

Weekend Trip to Fishers Of Men Ranch

We loved our trip to Fishers of Men! Kaz and Bill were so welcoming and helpful. The site we got for our 22 ft RV was a great size and had full hook ups. Close to Marble Falls so if you forget something, which I always do, you can easily go pick it up in town. Would recommend this ranch for camping.

We had the best time at McDonald’s Farm! From splashing in the river to hanging out fireside this is the spot! Our kids loved seeing the pigs, chickens, and horse, as well as exploring the property. The hosts were amazing! They had a great spot for making coffee set up for us and always were quick to answer questions and assist our group. Thanks for a great weekend!

Weekend Trip to Longhorn Getaway Campgrounds

This is our second time booking with Jana! We had a smaller group this time and a different site. Again we were so happy with our stay. Campsite was lovely with tons of shade, loved the view of the big oak tree/pond. We love playing disc golf so it's such a treat to be able to play where we camp. The course has become one of my favorites in central Texas. We look forward to our next stay here!

We stayed at the Mother Tree Site and had a great time! We were able to park right next to the site, had great access to the river front and the trees provide a great windbreak at the site. Overall it was a great trip, even with some rain!

Lovely, peaceful campsite near the Colorado River, with plenty of room to spread out. We got lucky—we were the only ones camping so had the place to ourselves all weekend. Bridget was a fantastic and welcoming host, immediately responding to all of our questions and requests. Electric hookup at site and communal bathhouse and dish washing area were great amenities. We loved our time here and will definitely return!

Great spot for tent camping! And especially for toddlers/preschoolers. Any age kids really! Farm animals are so fun to interact with and the hosts include you on the feedings. It’s so beautiful with a lot to do and they are the kindest hosts.

Simple campsites, owners are super nice. The property is kept and feels very safe. The bathroom and outdoor shower are what you would expect for a campground, but many of the doors don’t quite shut all the way. Overall great spot to camp!

Our working horse farm offers an authentic rural experience unlike any other, with stunning sunsets that paint the Texas sky each evening. Our farm is home to a delightful variety of animals, including horses, donkeys, goats, pigs and our friendly farm cats and dogs. Our camping sites offer the chance to really dive into nature with access to beautiful trees and the san gabriel river. Camp right underneath our beautiful "Mother Tree" which captures the attention of all of our campers and trail ride participants. Book a trail ride or animal experience during your stay to get the full working farm experience. Restroom facilities with flushable toilets are conveniently located on the property. Well water is available from the sink located near the bathroom. Portable fire ring is provided. Please remember, for the safety and comfort of our animals and guests, unsupervised interactions with our animals are not permitted. All animal interactions must be scheduled and supervised by our experienced staff. Also please remember that while our farm is a total of 30 acres, only about 1/3 of that is available for open use by campers, the rest house our beautiful horses and other animals. Our farm is situated just a short drive from local attractions. We are 10 miles from the Historic Georgetown Square, 11.2 miles from the serene Blue Hole, and 38 miles from the hustle and bustle of downtown Austin. Escape to the Texas hill country and experience the charm of farm life on 10 acres at Wildflower Getaway! Nestled just outside of Austin, in San Marcos, TX, our property offers a unique experience with hiking trails surrounded by nature and friendly farm animals. There is also a cowboy pool with a shade sail. We have goats, horses, chickens, ducks, and more. In September we will have a llama named Oreo Mochi. There is an outhouse for washing hands and a compost toilet. There are water and electric connections only. 50 amp RV connections. If you need 30 amp you will need a converter. You can pitch a tent. There are rock firepits set up around the property and plenty of firewood. Eventually we will be adding an outdoor shower for camping guests. It is 15-18 minutes to downtown San Antonio. About 15 minutes to tube rentals to float the river in San Marcos. The San Marcos outlet malls are a shower trip. An approximate 30 minute trip to Wimberly, TX wineries. There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course). A tent can be provided upon your request ahead of time. We look forward to hosting you. We want you to create lasting memories by connecting with yourself and loved ones.
