This is a living memorial to the 36th president of the United States. This is the home of the Texas White House, so named because Lyndon B. Johnson spent 20 percent of his presidency there. When the weight of the office became too much to bear, he retreated to this ranch to escape the rigors of Washington.
You and your family have plenty of things to do here to escape the rigors of your own lives. Johnson's boyhood home contains artifacts from his childhood, including a baseball glove and ball. The president loved cars. You can view a 1915 fire truck, 1934 Ford Phaeton and a rare Amphicar, a car designed to travel on land and water. He also owned a Jolly 500 Ghia, a gift from the owner of Fiat. There's even that era's Air Force One, the plane Johnson used to get to the ranch.Pets are allowed. I stayed in the Lindavista Cabin and the pictures don't do it justice. The inside of the cabin is completely styled in luxury country chic. You'll find a giant LCD television in the living area, stainless steel appliances, lcd-enabled mirrors in the two full bathrooms with wraparound glass showers (one on each floor), a huge two-person jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom upstairs, remote controlled air conditioners and fans on each floor, a private balcony off of the master bathroom, and a fully enclosed sunroom off the master bedroom that could also be used as an additional bedroom for more guests. Even the kitchen faucet has an LED light that shines from the water to let you know whether the water is hot or cold. There's a comfortable little porch at the door of the cabin, and I was visited by an entire group of 9 or 10 adorable goats a couple of times each day! The cabins on this property are spaced pretty close together, but the owners did an excellent job of arranging them so that the cabins do not directly look into each other, a relief since there are no curtains in any of the many windows of this cabin. There was a small hiccup on check-in time (Hipcamp said 2pm but the owners told me 3pm not long before I arrived), but otherwise I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing, peaceful, and luxurious stay.

Maggi’s, Ranch is stunning, filled full of beautiful animals. And the stars at night were simply amazing. The hosts did everything to make her stay comfortable, from guiding us into our spot. Setting us up with a campfire and letting us know about activities. Would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Communication was great from the beginning and they were super hospitable to us during our stay here. We only got to spend a limited time here since we were there to visit inks lake and enchanted rock during the day. It was just a short drive to both and very convenient. Had so much fun trying to get pictures with the longhorns too. Hopefully we can come back and visit again.

This was a fantastic campsite for the two of us and our teardrop trailer. The hillside provided great shade, and we spotted plenty of birds — even a couple of foxes. The site includes two restrooms and an outdoor shower, all clean and convenient. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend Kambrah’s spot to anyone.

We loved camping out on this Beautiful Camping site! The night sky's and night city view are absolutely Amazing and the views during the day are breathtaking! Their cows are so cute and add that little texas feel to the whole stay, we love how maintained the property was and the campsite was cleared and clean! Absolutely Recommend to anyone!

This was an awesome experience for our young grandchildren. They learned so much about the animals and loved their first ever horse ride. There was a nice playground, hills and rocks. Things we don’t have at home. I would definitely do it again.

Weekend Trip to Hill Country Escape
We loved tent camping on Chris’ land! The amenities were excellent (electric, water, shade) and they had recently installed a nearby toilet and shower with hot water. Water access and hiking access made for great afternoon activities. Our dogs had a great time too. Thank you Hill Country Escape!
