Our 100 acre heritage property has been in the family for over 150 years. Since 2017, we've been operating our land as a Vegan, Regenerative-Agriculture Farm & Animal Sanctuary. We currently have a herd of 31 Cows, 4 Potbelly Pigs and 2 Spanish Goats. The cows and pigs are all rescue animals so, where as they are adapted to humans being around them, they are very shy and petting them is not allowed. The goats, on the other hand, are very friendly and love to be pet and fed treats. We are located outside of Dime Box, TX and are a 30 minute drive from the quaint, artist village of Round Top, and 12 miles from Lake Somerville SP. Our property has equal parts rolling pastures and wooded thickets and ravines. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and gorgeous views of the Texas horizons....time your stay just right and you can stand directly between the sunset and the moonrise! We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property. We currently offer a Port-A-Potty for restroom needs and we have water access points for non-potable water suited for washing hands, dishes or camping gear.

We like to imagine, create from recycled materials, and we enjoy getting our hands dirty planting trees and in the garden. Chickens are not only our favorite form of entertainment but their eggs taste great in our breakfast tacos!! The sunsets out here can be pretty amazing and being so close (less than a mile) to the Colorado River we sometimes get to see the sunset on a paddle down the river. There is a communal chimney, picnic table, outdoor shower and bathroom. The colorado river is less than a mile away from camp with flushing toilets, volley ball courts, kiddie park, and boat ramp. Lots of folks paddle and fish the colorado river. We have chickens on the property so plenty of entertainment right there.

Hidalgo Falls Hideaway

The 13-acre park at Hidalgo Falls is owned by the Texas Rivers Protection Association. It is located on the Brazos River about eight miles from Navasota.TRPA ownership of this property guarantees access to this popular and unique river resource. For whitewater paddlers, it offers a class II rapid with numerous surfing waves, holes, eddy lines and play spots. For flatwater paddlers, it provides a convenient and secure access point for float trips along a very historic stretch of the Brazos as well as a place to learn swiftwater techniques and rescue skills. In the four miles downstream from the rapid archaeologists have unearthed mastodon bones from the riverbank, and the remains of an early 20th century lock and dam system still loom large in the river. All of this is just upstream from Washington on the Brazos State Park, birthplace of the republic of Texas. Stephen F. Austin is said to have crossed the river often at Hidalgo Falls. It is also said that you could tell if you had a knowledgeable riverboat captain if he could get his boat upstream of the rapid and back down before the river level dropped stranding the boat upriver near Millican or Port Sullivan.The fast moving water and play features of the rapid are rarities in this part of the state. During the year volunteer fire departments in the region use the falls for training firefighters in swiftwater rescue.A 2 mile hike and bike trail are being worked on now and will soon open. Volunteers are always welcome!

Situated on the side of my house, the 80-foot long spot provides ample space for your RV adventures. The entire lot is securely fenced in, granting guests exclusive access to amenities such as the pool, hot tub, and yard. Enjoy privacy with no neighbors in the back and an 8-foot tall side fence where your RV will be parked. While my own RV won't be onsite during your stay, parking towards the back allows for privacy and the extension of awnings. Backing in is recommended, and though my 33-foot long RV fits comfortably, larger rigs may find maneuvering a bit challenging due to the angle from the street through the front gate. There's plenty of room to tandem park a towed vehicle in front of your RV, and both 50amp and 30amp electric hookups are conveniently located on the back side of my house. Water is also accessible from the rear. While live sewer hookup isn't available, I offer convenient dumping options when the black tank is full. Nestled in a charming, gentrifying neighborhood, expect the pleasant hum of city sounds (not overly loud) and glimpses of starlit skies. During your stay, I'll be residing in the house with my sociable dog, Toby. We'll be respectful of your privacy but available for any assistance you may need. Happy Horse Hotel is on 22 acres conveniently located between Austin and Bastrop in the Pope Bend of the Colorado River. LCRA's fabulous McKinney Roughs Nature Park is 2 miles up the road, adjacent to the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort. The camp area is 9 secluded, fenced and wooded acres laced with all-dirt flat biking and walking trails on our property. We encourage you to bring your bicycles along. The bird watching is great!

You'll see other canoes and kayaks floating the Colorado River. Please ask before hanging hammocks on the deck (depends on other guests using deck).

**NOTE-THERE IS ONLY 1 SITE-BUT I CREATED 2 SITES SO BOTH 30AMP AND 50AMP OUTLETS SHOW AVAILABLE.** This RV spot offers the perfect blend of proximity to Austin's vibrant attractions and the comfort of a cozy neighborhood setting. Situated on the side of my house, the 80-foot long spot provides ample space for your RV adventures. The entire lot is securely fenced in, granting guests exclusive access to amenities such as the pool, hot tub, and yard. Enjoy privacy with no neighbors in the back and an 8-foot tall side fence where your RV will be parked. While my own RV won't be onsite during your stay, parking towards the back allows for privacy and the extension of awnings. Backing in is recommended, and though my 33-foot long RV fits comfortably, larger rigs may find maneuvering a bit challenging due to the angle from the street through the front gate. There's plenty of room to tandem park a towed vehicle in front of your RV, and both 50amp and 30amp electric hookups are conveniently located on the back side of my house. Water is also accessible from the rear. While live sewer hookup isn't available, I offer convenient dumping options when the black tank is full. Nestled in a charming, gentrifying neighborhood, expect the pleasant hum of city sounds (not overly loud) and glimpses of starlit skies. During your stay, I'll be residing in the house with my sociable dog, Toby. We'll be respectful of your privacy but available for any assistance you may need. Toby loves company, including other dogs, and has even been around cats with proper introductions. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to arrange a booking!

Hidalgo Falls Hideaway

The 13-acre park at Hidalgo Falls is owned by the Texas Rivers Protection Association. It is located on the Brazos River about eight miles from Navasota.TRPA ownership of this property guarantees access to this popular and unique river resource. For whitewater paddlers, it offers a class II rapid with numerous surfing waves, holes, eddy lines and play spots. For flatwater paddlers, it provides a convenient and secure access point for float trips along a very historic stretch of the Brazos as well as a place to learn swiftwater techniques and rescue skills. In the four miles downstream from the rapid archaeologists have unearthed mastodon bones from the riverbank, and the remains of an early 20th century lock and dam system still loom large in the river. All of this is just upstream from Washington on the Brazos State Park, birthplace of the republic of Texas. Stephen F. Austin is said to have crossed the river often at Hidalgo Falls. It is also said that you could tell if you had a knowledgeable riverboat captain if he could get his boat upstream of the rapid and back down before the river level dropped stranding the boat upriver near Millican or Port Sullivan.The fast moving water and play features of the rapid are rarities in this part of the state. During the year volunteer fire departments in the region use the falls for training firefighters in swiftwater rescue.A 2 mile hike and bike trail are being worked on now and will soon open. Volunteers are always welcome!
