Situated on the side of my house, the site is 95' long. 38' of which is along my house. The width between the house and fence is 18 feet. This should fit any RV with 2 slides and awning being open. The entire lot is fenced in, granting guests(and pets) full use of the pool and yard. Enjoy privacy with no neighbors in the back and an 8' side fence where your RV will be parked. The lot is a city sized lot, less than 1/5 acre, but HipCamp won't let me put in less than 1 acre. Pictures show my white/red retro RV as well as other RV's and how they have fit with and without my RV. Backing in is best for trailers - motorhomes/vans can go forward or back in. You may find maneuvering backwards a bit challenging due to the angle from the street through the front gate and my house overhang. It can be done...it just may take a village! :o) There's plenty of room to tandem park a towed vehicle in front of your RV(fenced in too!), and both 50amp and 30amp electric hookups are located on the back side of my house near the water hookup. (NOTE: Hipcamp will not let me notate in the fields that I have a 50amp AND a 30amp, thus I have 2 sites listed. I have had 2 RV guests stay at same time, but will not book that unless I get the ok from all parties.) LIVE sewer hookup isn't available because my clean-out is in the front of the house. Dumping can be done on the way in/out or with a portable tank.. Nestled in a charming, gentrifying neighborhood, expect the pleasant hum of city sounds (not overly loud) and glimpses of starlit skies. During your stay, I'll be residing in the house with my sociable dog, Toby. We'll be respectful of your privacy but available for any assistance you may need. We really enjoyed our 4 day 3 night stay at Wild and Boujee right on the Colorado River. This spot is pretty secluded and offers a nice quite place to relax, fish, explore and unwind. The river sites, while 100% dry campsites offer ample shade and easy access to the water. We felt having a few more spots along the waters edge cleaned up a little would have allowed for more fishing opportunities where the water is a bit deeper. We definitely have this marked as a go to place close by our house for future trips. We really want to check this spot out during the summer. There is access to a water faucet close to the RV pads and Tent/Cabin which was nice for us to top off our small offgrid camper.

1 night at McDonald Farm on the River

This is a farm. For those that enjoy dispersed camping, this is it. No one else there so I had the run of the place. As described, I was met by the owner as I came up the drive, got a quick property tour and history, met the new baby pigs, was greeted by chickens and the old brown farm dog that came to check on me a couple of times. Fire pits were located throughout the property with plenty of firewood around for the choosing. Very clean portapotty. They have showers but I didn’t use them so I can’t comment. The main drawback is the proximity to Hwy 29. As noted in the description, it is not unnoticeable but by about 6:30 or 7, it calmed down a lot. I was just there on a spur of the moment , quick, overnighter to check the place out and to field test a couple of new pieces of camping equipment. It’s only a 15 mile trip from my home, so nice and easy. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. I’ve had a couple of questionable Hipcamp experiences, but this was not one of them . I can say I’ll probably be back the next time I need to get out or to put a new camping toy to work.

The camp is exactly what we needed! As we had several large dogs with us, it allowed our dogs to have the space and privacy that we needed as well as a nice peaceful vacation. Having the electricity there was very helpful! It was quiet and peaceful, and even though we had to move the trailer to dump and fill up water, it was still what we were looking for! And everything was there on site. Our host page was responsive and helpful! Would definitely stay again.

Weekend Trip to Shady Forest View Small RV Camping

We were lucky to find this site! We needed a last minute camping site for our family reunion at the state park and crossed our fingers that we would get a good one. Craig was a great host, gave us a tour of the property when we arrived, and even swapped us to a better site for our tents last minute. The bathroom and shower were clean and functional and the property is wooded and hilly and picturesque. There is definitely some highway noise early in the evening (being pretty close to 71 we weren’t surprised), but it quieted down as it got later and we could hear owls and coyotes and other wildlife. We would definitely book again.

We brought our own camping chairs, but there were also chairs available and picnic tables.

We had an absolute blast staying at Lucy’s RV spot in East Austin! From the moment we arrived, she made us feel right at home. The site was level, fairly easy to back into, and had everything we needed—electricity, water, a spot to dump, privacy, and plenty of room to relax after exploring the city. Lucy was incredibly kind, welcoming, and quick to help with anything we needed. Her dog Toby was the sweetest — he made our stay even more special with his friendly personality and daily visits! The location couldn’t be better: so close to downtown Austin. Having access to the pool and green space was a huge plus, and it made the stay feel like a mini vacation instead of just an RV stop. If you’re looking for a quiet, well-kept RV spot near the heart of Austin, this is the one! Thanks again to Lucy (and Toby!) for being such amazing hosts — we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

Finding an affordable spot in Austin is difficult. Frankly, if a campsite is open at McKinney Falls State Park that is a better option (includes water, electricity, bathrooms, showers) for about the same price. but they fill up fast. Alex’s place wasn’t too far from downtown, and felt safe. The space (his driveway) was large and flat and was easy to access. Alex answered messages and encouraged any questions. If you only need a basic place to park your RV and sleep overnight and you are self contained, Alex’s place fits the bill.

Loved this spot! The location was perfect, easy to find, and great for setting up a large tent. We set up a 16ft bell tent. It’s close enough to town for convenience but far enough to feel like you’re in a completely different, peaceful place.
