I know my property won't disappoint if you decide to stay in the fully equipped cabin. The ponds are fully stocked with bass, bream and catfish, so fun to catch and you can even keep your catch and cook them over your own campfire. We loved the remote beauty of our well equipped cabin, the endless hiking trails, and exploration opportunities and also the proximity to Jacksonville when we needed supplies. Our hosts were incredible! Or cabin was comfy and had ensuring we needed. Loved the amazing fire pit and shower! We can’t wait to return!

- Joe and Joe Sr. were so friendly and welcoming. They were the best part of this site.
- They made every effort to accomodate our needs.
- Beautiful land, very quiet.
- Joe Sr. took us on a tour of the property, including his ATV area.
- Lots of hang out spaces under covered areas, so could accomodate very large groups.
Cons:
- The Electrical box malfunctioned and we were not able to hook up our 50 amp. We tried the 20 amp but that ended up failing too. We ended up having to run our generator, but the hosts covered our gas. They felt so badly about this and were trying to fix the unexpected problem.
- The bathrooms were very rustic. The women’s door was locked, and the men’s bathroom had flushing troubles. The inside bathroom was fine, but with 8 in our party, it was inconvenient to only have one bathroom/shower. There were no sewage hookups.
- Spaces need updating
- Price was high for partial hookup and out-dated, poorly functioning spaces

Just what we needed for a weekend getaway in the woods. Love the area of east Texas and the acreage is awesome to explore on utv or walking. We explored quite a bit and walked the creek a long ways south with the pups. The falls were pretty and relaxing to sit and listen to. Susan and Mark were responsive and provided everything you could think of. I hope we come back one day! Beds were comfy too!

This location is absolutely stunning. While the grass can be a bit long in certain areas, it’s a small detail that shouldn’t keep you from visiting. The property is tucked away, so you’ll spend a bit of time on a dirt road but it’s well worth it for the peaceful, quiet nights and clear skies. The host was incredibly responsive and answered all of my questions.

It was not busy at all when we went 2nd weekend in November 2024. We did change spots we were not in #5, we switched to #9. Only negative thing is that you can hear the road noise, no way around that though. I am sure it is a packed park in December because that is where the Santa Christmas Train is in Rusk, Texas!
