All animal interactions must be scheduled and supervised by our experienced staff. Also please remember that while our farm is a total of 30 acres, only about 1/3 of that is available for open use by campers, the rest house our beautiful horses and other animals.

Joy Moore bought this fixer-upper in 1986 when the oilfield went under, at a youngster in her early twenties and has owned ever since. Lake Somerville is known for the best fishing lake in Texas. Deer run plentiful on the property and will come up close and personal when fed corn. So, stop and pick up a sack or two of deer corn before arrival. I really enjoyed my time at the p2 farm. First off, the beautiful horses, the open land, the sweet puppies, the male and female sheep hip to hip couple, the 400 year old Mother Tree, the open starry sky, the river, to Makayla’s wonderful hospitality was everything I was hoping for when I booked. The bus was a plus since I did not have to do much camp set up and had my own space and refrigerator! It was nicely remodeled and very cozy even for 2 people and 3 mid sized dogs! Our dogs got to roam freely. I also got to view the campsites near the Mother Tree and the river bank which were very nice. There’s a large communal area for cooking and gathering. I highly recommend this place if you really want the farm life while roughing it as true camper! I got the luxury of having 80 degree weather during the day and 60 degree weather at night. Perfect for a fire. And this was in December! They also offer horse trail rides which I plan to do next time!

Large space with normal toilet. We stayed on the ranch side, which was closer to Makayla's house. There is also a river side which is more secluded. We utilized the fire pit, the bathroom, and some of the table space made available to us. The property was easy to find, and Makayla was reachable through phone calls. We did small daytrip into town, which was very close to the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend to others.

Super cute little fishing cabin that was stocked with everything we needed for a small thanksgiving celebration with our adult kids and pets. We enjoyed fishing at the lake just around the corner. Our only drawback was the burn ban that prohibited s'mores over the fire pit each night, but we can only blame the Texas weather for that. We had a great stay and would come back again. This place is awesome. The interior is like a luxury cabin with all the amenities and comforts you have at home. Excellent air conditioning, amazing waterfall shower, WiFi, and so many other great features to the cabin make it the best cabin we have ever stayed at.
The host Tanya was friendly and had very fast responses to any questions. The location is in an RV park that has charcoal grills, players for the little ones, and great open areas to run with the kids or dogs. It was extremely quiet in regards to neighbors. There are some animal noises from geese and a few dogs but we felt that added to the country feel.
A mile or so down the road is one of the best lakes in Texas and since it’s a state park it’s extremely safe and a pristine environment.
A few minutes down the road in the opposite direction is a Dollar General for all the items you forgot or want some extra snack or drink.
We will absolutely be coming back in the near future.

My friends and I had an absolute blast on the pasture mingle campsite. I will say though, if you’re looking for a lot of privacy, you’ll probably want to go with the mother tree location. Since this campsite is next to the barn where horse rides begin, there were people coming in and out a lot during our stay. Didn’t bother us, and we preferred being right up next to the horses, with two sheep roaming and playing around for us to watch. I’d recommend this spot to families with kids who like animals, and the mother tree location for people who want more of the private river spot. Overall we were very pleased.

My girlfriend and I had a magical weekend at the ranch. It was easy to find- close to Georgetown which has a nice market on Saturdays- yet remote enough to stargaze. We rode horses and played with the goats, ponies, and a litter of 8 7-week old puppies. At night the hosts brought us plenty of firewood for our spot near the horse pasture. It was a very fun and friendly experience all around.

Gorgeous piece of land! We pitched a tent at the RV spot and the views were gorgeous. The fire pit was great with the built in grill, making our campfire meals easy. The river was beautiful and clear and we had a blast catching fish and little frogs in our nets and cooling off. The animals were wonderful too, and my 6 year old son can’t stop talking about riding the horses! (The more reluctant 4 year old had fun too, even if he didn’t want to admit it.)
It was so sweet that they let us hang out with the new sweet litter of puppies as much as we wanted! If you’re staying here within the next few months, beware… you might accidentally take home a new family member!

We loved our weekend camping on Makayla’s land. The river is lovely and refreshing, and our site, under the Mother Tree, was shady and better than I could have imagined! In the evening we heard owls and other wildlife, which we loved. Our kids and dog were in outdoor heaven. We added on a sheepy visit for our two kids (4&1) and a trail ride for the older one and both were amazing experiences! Makayla also had a communal kitchen area with a microwave and a coffee maker and a sink to do dishes which was awesome. We would definitely come back to her property to camp again. Just an fyi to other campers, we did spot some poison ivy/oak around in the wooded area and near the campsite, so if you’re highly allergic I’d plan to wear boots and pants.

We absolutely loved this camp! Despite it being the victim of the recent flooding, the camp was clean and orderly, and surprisingly bug free (or as bug free as you can get camping). Saw the owners Makayla and her husband briefly on day 2 when they were leading a horseback group beside the camp but other than that it felt pretty secluded. The camp site itself is pretty pushed back so if you park your car in front, you're pretty blocked off. We loved that there was a place to rinse dishes and we could allow our dogs off leash from time to time. Absolutely wonderful stay, will be back again!

My dogs and I loved camping under the mother tree right by the river! We booked this fully aware of the impact the recent flooding has had on the area. However we were pleasantly surprised by the state of the property! It’s apparent that the hosts have put in work and are continuing to restore the area.
