3 nights at McDonald Farm

RJ and Samantha were attentive, responsive hosts. The property was beautiful and close to the San Gabriel River. The camp kichen and showers were a great feature. And I got to meet their horse Ginger! I recomend it.

We had the best time at McDonald’s Farm! From splashing in the river to hanging out fireside this is the spot! Our kids loved seeing the pigs, chickens, and horse, as well as exploring the property. The hosts were amazing! They had a great spot for making coffee set up for us and always were quick to answer questions and assist our group. Thanks for a great weekend!

We have been to many glamping sites in TX but I have not seen such a beautiful site with a high elevation view. The host made it extra special sending us a small gift to celebrate our anniversary.. A beautiful night under the stars that you won't forget!

Tent camping made easy! Lovely spaces to choose from. Literally a farm! Horse, chickens, pigs!! Outdoor bathroom & shower available. Beautiful areas by the river, just a small hike. Definitely will come back to stay by the river! Extremely informative and friendly host. So worth the drive. Lovely drive to Georgetown if you forget anything. Thank you for the peaceful and serene experience, we loved it.

The views amazing, and I really enjoyed seeing the farm animals. The land is so green and beautiful, it reminded of me of back home in Tennessee. I appreciated that their land connected to the San Gabriel River, so that we could easily go back and forth! I absolutely adored that they had a coffee station with a charging area, a shower station, and a port-a-potty. They also sold their own farm fresh eggs, jam, and hot sauce which you can pick up from their curbside stand at any time. They also have campfires and provide you with fire starting wood. Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend!

Great weekend spent at P2! Got to work up a sweat on a trail ride, then go cool off in the river. The communal spot on the river is perfect for sitting a chair in and relaxing to the sounds of nature. The communal cooking/sitting area was really great too. Made meal prep so much easier - there are several grills, tables and plenty of chairs.

This was one of the most magical setting at which g3 Games has ever had a retreat! Our camp site felt very secluded and peaceful. The fikuage and San Gabriel river were absolutely stunning. Makayla was there to welcome us when we first arrived, showed us around some of the property, then retreated to their on-site home. They would have happily helped if there were any issues, but there were none! This organization has scheduled retreats like this at various venues for the past 2.5 years. I know that there is personal preference bleeding into this, but P2 Farm is one of the very best places we have ever camped 😁

My pups and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay! The experience exceeded my expectations. We loved how much thought and consideration the hosts put into everything. The description was accurate and informative and the host was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the private river access. It was peaceful and rejuvenating; we will definitely stay here again! My dogs didn’t want to leave. We saw a few snakes, carp, raccoon and deer by the river but bugs were not an issue. Cell service (T-Mobile) was a little spotty at the river, not bad though. The outdoor shower was nice to be able to clean up after playing in the river with my dogs. Definitely check out the little farm stand while you’re there! There were fresh eggs and jellies for sale when we were there.

Had a great weekend! Hot showers, clean porta potty, and plenty of firewood for us to use! Owner was super helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed the fresh eggs they sold that we cooked for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We are now offering daytime river access to the San Gabriel River! This is a secluded, hike to spot for fishing, swimming, grilling, picnicing, and hanging out during the day. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee, or we offer day passes for non-campers! There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please. McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! We are 13 miles from Granger Lake, which offers boating and bass fishing opportunities. Highway 29 and the many quaint and scenic country roads that intersect it is popular with cyclists wanting to go for longer rides and enjoy the sights of central Texas and the many historical farms in the area. There is excellent bird-watching and wildlife-viewing opportunities on the property. We frequently see white-tailed deer, as well as other wildlife and many species of birds. There is road noise. There are 2 LONG RV spots up to 45 feet in length BUT, they are back in only and the turn around area is tight if you have a BIG RIG. The 2 camper van sites are (Site 1) 32' and (Site 2) 22'.
