Private, peaceful and secluded. We purchased the 5.3 acres as a forest back in 2007. We cut down a little bit of the forest to build our house. Native Americans once lived here. Sometimes you can find arrowheads. Some of the forest burned down in the great Bastrop wildfire in 2011, but it has grown back. Mobile phones work well here. Strong signal. Learn more about this land: Lost Pines Camping is located on a gravel dead-end road. We are in a pine forest with some oaks and have a two-acre lake on the property that is good for swimming. Bastrop and Buescher State Parks are nearby and easy to access through back roads. Blackberries can be picked for a month or so in springtime. Downtown Bastrop and Downtown Smithville are both a ten-minute drive away. The bathroom is a 2 minute walk from the tent site. With a surveyor's wheel it is 334 feet walk through the forest.

This place is awesome. The interior is like a luxury cabin with all the amenities and comforts you have at home. Excellent air conditioning, amazing waterfall shower, WiFi, and so many other great features to the cabin make it the best cabin we have ever stayed at. The host Tanya was friendly and had very fast responses to any questions. The location is in an RV park that has charcoal grills, players for the little ones, and great open areas to run with the kids or dogs. It was extremely quiet in regards to neighbors. There are some animal noises from geese and a few dogs but we felt that added to the country feel. A mile or so down the road is one of the best lakes in Texas and since it’s a state park it’s extremely safe and a pristine environment. A few minutes down the road in the opposite direction is a Dollar General for all the items you forgot or want some extra snack or drink. We will absolutely be coming back in the near future.

We had a great 2 night stay at Circle C Campground essentially inside the Sam Houston National Forrest. The park trails began 50 yrds from our campsite. The sites themselves were very large, and there are only 7 total campsites, so it felt very spacious. There was a lot for the kids to do and they roamed freely with no worries from mom or dad about them all weekend. Terry was very friendly and has spared no expense improving the property to allow campers to enjoy it. Highly recommended.

Craig was a fantastic host, and his assistant Matt was so kind and helpful! We really enjoyed the property, it was breathtaking with all the pine trees around! The fact that my dog was allowed to roam and explore really took the stress of keeping her leashed off me so I could finally relax as well….probably the best thing about the trip! We had a great time at this wonderful property, lots and lots of wooded property to explore. The hosts were excellent and the bathroom, shower and water refill station was only about 150 yards from site 22. We really enjoyed watching the gofers digging their holes, it was great entertainment for us and our dachshund! We even got to meet the ranch dog, he was super friendly and was just looking for a drink of water. We will definitely be back! Thank you for opening your property to all of us that seek to be outdoors, it seems to be getting harder and harder to find places to go. Keep up the great work and scratch that pup behind his ears for us!
