Weekend Trip to 3 Dry Wells Ranch

We have been to many glamping sites in TX but I have not seen such a beautiful site with a high elevation view. The host made it extra special sending us a small gift to celebrate our anniversary.. A beautiful night under the stars that you won't forget!

Weekend Trip to Boulderdash Cabin & Camping

Fantastic camping spot! We booked out both of the river spots so that we had more room and privacy. It was perfect! The walk up to the bath house wasn’t bad at all. Facilities were nice and clean and cared for. We didn’t use the WiFi. The sink and electric were very conveniently located. There was an issue with the outlets, but the hosts were super quick to respond and got us set up with alternate electricity sites in the meantime. Incredibly accommodating. Being next to the water was perfect! The dogs loved it. Plenty of flat spots for tents and parking. Beautiful site. I’ve camped quite a bit within about a 3 hour radius of Austin, and this has been the best! Loved it

2 nights at Sparrow Bend River Retreat

Sparrow's Bend is a treasure. The hosts have anticipated guests needs with a well kept camp including access to an air-conditioned bathroom and outdoor shower. We brought wood but ended up running low into our second night and they very conveniently keep a pile of firewood with a venmo QR code. We brought our paddle boards and very easily launched right out of camp, though the water is still very, very low. We were able to explore quite a ways in either direction and just had to carry our boards for little sections at a time. Really the best part of the river is right at Sparrows Bend where we spent most our time watching the sparrows and the fish.

7 nights at Lost Woods

Campground was very private, very secluded. Neighboring sites were completely out of view from our site. This is a hidden gem right in the middle of the city area. Hard to believe this kind of privacy exists this close to San Antonio! Owner/host was fantastic! If you want some primitive camping time unplugged and "in the woods", this is it!

4 nights at Ranch 3232

I loved staying at tent site B. It was easy to find, had a raised mulch pad for the tent, a couple of chairs, firepit, and grill. It was a short walk to the bathrooms/showers along a mulch path. Will definitely stay again when we come back to explore more.

I loved how secluded the site, yet, not too far from the car, the toilet station and trash station. We really enjoyed the experience despite of the strong wind. James is greatly responsive and supportive. We will definitely visit again!

We had a full group out this weekend and this spot did not disappoint! The views throughout the property were amazing and the drive in was a site to behold. Fritz and Ken were extremely hospitable and welcoming. The property is beautiful. Looking forward to taking my wife out later this year.

Fantastic camping on some of the most beautiful land in Texas - this place seriously rivals all Texas state parks. Beautiful topography combined with natural springs and diverse wildlife make this ranch a must see. We saw quail, turkey, whitetail, red stag (including an albino), javelina, horned frog, bass, sunfish, etc. The landowner and his assistant were extremely helpful when it came to booking the reservations, driving directions and navigating the property. Also, there are no cattle on the property, which is nice when it comes to walking around (no landmines to avoid).

Not much to say, we pulled in late and left early. Probably could have parked on the side of the road, but I hate getting woken up and having to move. James the host was responsive and helpful. The place looked pretty killer for a nice getaway. It's not a typical campground, it's private land with outhouses and sites with firepits. Very reminiscent of a Baja situation. Host says he locks the gate at night but I couldn't confirm. Overall I'd recommend

Spot was convenient from Guadalupe River State Park. Host was easy to communicate with and the place was easy to find. The spot was nice and private.

Amazing experience! This is a very family friendly camp site. We camped in a tent and the spot they set us up with was really nice, near the outdoor shower, outhouse, and a hammock with a string of lights hung through the trees. There are horses and ponies and goats that roam the property and come say hi and there’s some playground equipment for little kids to play on. The property is fenced in and it felt very safe to let my kids run around. It’s owned by a very sweet family, who maintain their land really well. As a member of the LGBTQ community, it’s often difficult to find places that I can feel safe out in nature with my kids and they were very accepting of my family and I. If you’re looking for a fun, quiet, family friendly spot to camp, I highly recommend staying here.

A network of trails criss-cross the creek and wind throughout the property under a peaceful canopy of large beautiful trees. Don't be surprised if you run into deer, squirrels, or roadrunners! Our property is home to a wide variety of hill-country wildlife. - Each of our campsites are private and surrounded by forest. - Each site has a fire ring for campfires - Our trees are our most precious natural resource and set this campground apart! Please don't do anything to harm them. - Port-o-john is available on site. - All of our campsites are primitive. No electric or water here. - When you camp with us you are welcome to explore and play on the entire property! We have 55 acres of trails and woods to explore! Please bring your bikes, trail shoes, or whatever helps you have fun in the wild! - Hammocks welcome! We have so many trees! All of our sites are hammock-friendly. - When you check-in, just text us, your host will help you find your campsite. - Some sites are drive-in where your vehicle can park right next to the fire. Others are walk-in and require a short hike of 100' or less from your parking space. You can indicate your preference during booking or at check-in. If you want to drive right into your site, Campsites 2, 3, 6, and 12 are the sites you want. Please notify me in your booking if you intend to bring a camper and I can accommodate you. We practice leave-no-trace as much as possible. So please pack out anything you pack in. You are responsible for removing all trash. If any garbage is left behind in your site you will be billed for the cleanup. We have a dumpster located near the front gate. Please use it and put all your trash in there. Heads-up! We have a small farm on the property. Dogs are always welcome and we LOVE our furry friends! For their safety and the safety of our livestock please keep them leashed while on property.

Nestled just outside of Austin, in San Marcos, TX, our property offers a unique experience with hiking trails surrounded by nature and friendly farm animals. There is also a cowboy pool with a shade sail. We have goats, horses, chickens, ducks, and more. In September we will have a llama named Oreo Mochi. There is an outhouse for washing hands and a compost toilet. There are water and electric connections only. 50 amp RV connections. If you need 30 amp you will need a converter. You can pitch a tent. There are rock firepits set up around the property and plenty of firewood. Eventually we will be adding an outdoor shower for camping guests. It is 15-18 minutes to downtown San Antonio. About 15 minutes to tube rentals to float the river in San Marcos. The San Marcos outlet malls are a shower trip. An approximate 30 minute trip to Wimberly, TX wineries. There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course). A tent can be provided upon your request ahead of time. We look forward to hosting you. We want you to create lasting memories by connecting with yourself and loved ones.
