Very nice. Very relaxing. We caught two bass in the lake but let them go. My city dogs did not know what to do with the frogs and crickets making noise. It was so nice letting my dogs off the leash and giving them freedom.

We really enjoyed tent camping at Camp Joy! We felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves and fully took advantage of it. Paddle boarding in the morning, afternoon and evening with our dog while watching the sunrise and sunset was pure bliss. Unlimited firewood was a huge plus and boy did our steaks taste better than ever cooking over it! Eating under the stars surrounded by the sounds of frogs was magical. Lastly, having a flushable toilet and hot shower was an added bonus. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Hollie & Davey's ranch was perfect for me. Beautiful property, and you're camping in nature, not a busy KOA park. Secluded and very peaceful. Easy to go get supplies in Giddings. This was a motocamping trip for me and there are great motorcycle roads all over the area. I will definitely be back.

This is without a doubt one epic and chill place! Love the cabin and the atmosphere! People are super friendly, accommodations are clean, cool, and very comfortable. This is our new go to for staying when visiting!

I love camping here, it is very peaceful, everything is clean and organized. Hollie and Davey are very nice and always checking on you. Favorite part their Director of guest services (their lovely dog Shasta) is beautiful and very friendly. I will keep coming here, totally worth it for a getaway camping.

1 night at CAMP JOY - RV / TENTS CALDWELL, TX

We loved staying at Camp Joy! The land was beautiful, the bathroom was clean and the shower was really nice. The view of the water from our tent was so beautiful and it was so peaceful. There is some road noise but it wasn't overbearing. An abundance of firewood was already provided at each campsite as well which was great! We did have a puppy come visit us that wandered onto the campsite from across the street. We didn't mind and he was super friendly. We actually really enjoyed the little guy, haha. We also saw the cat Duchess that lives on the property who was sweet as well. Overall it was a trip full of animals and beautiful views. Will definitely want to come again!

This was a nice spot with lots of open spaces, both up by the RV site and down by the river. We were close to Bastrop State Park and downtown Bastrop for shopping and restaurants. The new pad sites overlooked the river below. Please note that there are electrical hookups at the pads but water and sewer are by the front entrance of the property.

I loved the site. Just a short walk down the steps to the river. Thank you Paige for the kayak paddle. Cute spot at the river to put the kayak in, Not a big rivers edge if a lot of people are there at the same time but we enjoyed it as we were there all by ourselves. This would definitely be a GREAT place for a group. Again, Thank you Paige.

We really enjoyed staying on Hollie and Davey’s land. We were at RV Site 1. It was level, had plenty of room and had water and electric hookups. We were greeted by Shasta, a very friendly dog who also accompanied us on walks around the property. We liked the peace and quiet. We were near a road but rarely heard any traffic. They have other more remote sites but they didn’t have electricity. We were fine where we stayed. It was very a very relaxing place. I recommend it and would stay there again.

Camping on Dave and Sarah’s land was a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility for my family. We spent the evenings gathered around a crackling campfire, roasting marshmallows under a sky bursting with stars. The kids loved exploring the wooded trails and open meadows, while my wife and I cherished the peaceful escape and meaningful conversations surrounded by nature.

Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. The "Aggieland Wild Animal Safari" is outside of Bryan College Station and is a great place to take the kids to interact with all kinds of animals. Offers a drive-thru in which you can drive thru as many times as you want, as well as a petting zoo and gift shop. And, if you like shopping, there are lots of antique shops and wineries at Round Top, another scenic drive about 45 minutes away. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! We are located outside of Dime Box, TX and are a 30 minute drive from the quaint, artist village of Round Top, and 12 miles from Lake Somerville SP. Our property has equal parts rolling pastures and wooded thickets and ravines. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and gorgeous views of the Texas horizons....time your stay just right and you can stand directly between the sunset and the moonrise! We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property. We have a new construction Bath House on site for restroom needs w/ hot showers and composting potties plus a cold-water sink w/ non-potable water suited for washing produce, hands, dishes or camping gear.
