This cedar cabin was built in the late 1950's and was the first building in Birch Creek Subdivision and was used as the real estate office when selling land for Subdivision. Joy Moore bought this fixer-upper in 1986 when the oilfield went under, at a youngster in her early twenties and has owned ever since. Lake Somerville is known for the best fishing lake in Texas. Deer run plentiful on the property and will come up close and personal when fed corn. So, stop and pick up a sack or two of deer corn before arrival. The closest city is about a 20 minute drive to Somerville so make sure to have everything you need before camping. 3 nights at Blue Lagoon Pond & Cabin

Super cute little fishing cabin that was stocked with everything we needed for a small thanksgiving celebration with our adult kids and pets. We enjoyed fishing at the lake just around the corner. Our only drawback was the burn ban that prohibited s'mores over the fire pit each night, but we can only blame the Texas weather for that. We had a great stay and would come back again. Thank you Joy!
