Ivey was very welcoming and accommodating, even provided a bit of dry firewood to get us started while the ground wood dried from the recent drizzle. The creekside site itself was lovely! It is perched cliffside just above the creek with a very gentle slope, it is very private. Soil is shallow with shale rock beneath, steel stakes and a hammer recommended. Loads of pollenators and a handful of amphibians!

My girlfriend and I loved the Bambi cabin at Shoestring Creek. Rhonda and Roberta are amazing and very accommodating. Very quiet, tucked away, and peaceful. Do yourself a favor and go spend some time at Shoestring Creek Will be back!

The A frame cabin at Anthony and Kristins was the perfect get away! Spent the long weekend here and had a great time relaxing by the fire and visiting the sites around TN. Such a thought out space with helpful and attentive hosts. Definitely recommend!

A little bit of Shangri-La in Western North Carolina. Campsite was immaculate with amazing setting next to a beautiful stream which provides great background noise, not that any is needed because it is very private. The water also helps keep the surrounding air cooler as it was at least 5-10 degrees cooler than Robbinsville which is 20 minutes away. Met the owner Brian who is a skilled carpenter and it shows in the work he has done to the campsite. Outhouse only (very clean), bring your own water and wood.

Super cool spot that Brian has. Very relaxing and peaceful! The directions to get to his place were very clear and we got there safe- make sure you pay attention because there is absolutely no service, as stated. The drive up was not bad at all with a compact style suv. It is secluded, but if there is someone staying down the way in the cabin they might walk the trail that leads to the campsite, which once they realized they turned around. We spent a day there, but wish we had more time to stay a couple more days. Bring only necessities because you do have to cross over a tree log bridge (super neat) and hop down a rock, we had no issues crossing over and we had our dogs. The water was felt so nice, beautiful, and refreshing! Very peaceful, highly recommend.

Brenna did such an awesome job making our group feel right at home in the woods. A perfect balance of rustic comforts, VERY comfortable beds, and being deep woods. The property is set up as good if not better than a national park, way more cozy, without the traffic, all the campsite amenities you could hope for and very clear helpful instructions from Brenna, she doesn’t leave you guessing at all, and can feel comfortable and confident in respecting their space. We stayed with two couples in a treehouse and had an awesome time. Cooked lots of food (brought our own cast iron pot for larger meals) and bring plenty extra water if there’s more than two of you. Five gallons goes quick if you are making coffee, cooking, and hiking. The trails on property were also so amazing, perfect for stretching our legs out after a late arrival being stuck in accident riddled interstate traffic. I immediately had my shoes off to enjoy the cushy moss bedded trails of the forest floor. These folks are awesome! Their property truly shows their passion for nature. I live off grid jungle in Kauai and already dream of coming back. I know my brother in Nashville will be there again sooner than I.

Motivation behind the creation of Smoky Mountain Sky Camp is to share with the public an alternative, nature-based vacation inspired by conservation with minimal impact. The treehouses are quiet, secluded, and actually border GSMNP property and Cherokee National Forest land; the Appalachian Trail at Davenport Gap is ¾ mile away. Nearby GSMNP entrances: Big Creek is 2.5 mi, Cosby at 8 miles. Only 3 to the Pigeon River whitewater section, and accessible to hundreds of miles of mountain biking and hiking roads/trails. Each treehouse was built by hand by hosts (husband/wife team) Anthony and Brenna. A long history of camping and working in the outdoor recreation industry inspired a design to intentionally interact with nature. By utilizing rain collection, solar power generation, composting toiletries, outdoor cooking, each treehouse is completely off-grid. Rest from your adventures on the comfy, queen and full-sized beds. A spacious queen bottom bunk and lofted double mattress can accommodate four adult campers. All bed linens and pillows are provided. The treehouses offer private, indoor bathing and toilet facilities. Every treehouse is equipped with a propane-heated, rain-collection shower and maintenance-free, vented composting toilet. All bath towels/washcloths, plus shampoo/wash are provided in each treehouse bathroom. You can dine al fresco in the trees! The kitchenette boasts wide concrete countertop table dining with four stools, two-burner propane cooktop, potable water and drain sink, and separate propane grill. Provided cookware includes pots, pans, cooking/grill tools and utensils, cutting board and knife. There are complete place settings for 4 glampers, plus coffee percolator and mugs (bring ground coffee.) There is no refrigerator, bring your own cooler and ice. Unique, spectacular views of nature are seen from each treehouse. Snowbird Mountain to North, Mt Sterling to East, Chestnut Mountain to West and Mt Cammerer to South. The creek in front of the property is available for use. Great for soaking when the weather gets hot and it's shallow enough to just bring a folding chair. Fish? Yes, there are some trout in there. Flies work best. Got kids? Build a dam! Go for a creek walk! Great hiking at the end of Wesser Creek Road. There is a trail by the creek and a fire tower with great view about 4.5 miles up that trail. Water source (spring) is available at the top. Follow the blue blaze. The white blazes at the top tell you you're on the Appalachian Trail. Take a side hike to Maine! Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) is just down the road on 19/74. Rafting, zip lines, a ropes course, mountain biking... good food by the river, a bar, public restrooms... the works. They often have music by the river on the weekends. This land was once a hillside farm, after it was first logged early in the last century. They used to grow corn all over the hillside, then let the cows up there to graze and eat up the stalks. If you look closely, you might find some barbed wire in an old oak here and there.
