Pitch your tent, hang you hammock, or park your camper and enjoy the great outdoors. There are a couple of level spots for your tents, as well as a nice rock fire pit for you to use. There is usually plenty of firewood available and there is an outhouse on the site. The pond hasn't yet been stocked with fish, but hopefully soon it will have more than just frogs. But for now the frogs provide great music. This is a rustic campsite, with rocks, roots, and steep terrain. Please bring your own camping gear, including chairs, and please take your trash with you. There is plenty of privacy, even though you are right near a public road that has very little traffic. There are no other campsites nearby and the owner lives 1/2 mile away. Recreation nearby includes Canoeing/kayaking on both the Elk River and Richland creek (shuttles can usually be arranged), Stillhouse Hollow Falls (beautiful waterfall hiking), Trail of Tears Interpretive Center, and Big Creek Winery.
Tents/Table/and cots are available to rent as well.

Situated just outside of Columbia, TN (one of the state's most up-and-coming cities) and right on the same road as our 11th President, James K. Polk, once lived - Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn are waiting to welcome you! Pull in, drive down the grass road and over the small creek, put it in park at the barn and go stretch your legs on the 4o+ acres surrounding. During the day, feel welcome to walk the serene meadows or take a cleared trail up the ridge to the treehouse! Don't be surprised to be greeted by all kinds of wildlife including deer, turkey, foxes, or our goofy, fun-loving Golden Doodle named "Shme." If walking isn't your thing, you are welcome to drive around (4wd recommended) to go scout out where you'd like to set up camp for the night. If you prefer more peace and privacy, there are two beautiful meadows to choose from which both reach deeper into the property. If you'd prefer the comfort of additional shelter, you are welcome to park and/or set yourself up at the barn instead (which is a little closer to the main road). There is power to the barn - providing light, 30AMP power for RV hookup, as well as an electrical receptacle that you can run your extension chords from. For the extra adventurous - you may want to take a hike up "Thornbush Trail," which follows the ridge right up the middle of the property and has beautiful views of both meadows to either side. Or, for a more direct route, take a walk right up our dirt access road to the upper ridge, where you can peek through the treeline for beautiful elevated views eastward toward Columbia. Our treehouse (in progress) is located right at the top of the access road. Though the treehouse has not yet been completed, feel free to climb the 20' ladder up the inside of the hollowed out trunk and pop your head out the top! It sure makes a great photo! Come back to the barn area in the evening to lounge in the hammock, hang out around the picnic table, or cook dinner and roast some marshmallows over the wood burning fire pit with cooking grill attachment (fireside tools & 1 bundle of firewood provided). One filtered and cooled 5 gallon portable Igloo water cooler will also be provided and placed on the picnic table outside the barn. One rolling 96 gallon covered trash bin will be placed inside the barn (please bag your trash). "Luggable Loo" portable compost toilet is also available for use inside the barn. Tho cell & wifi are spotty here on the farm, we will provide one walkie talkie during your stay for direct communication with the main residence, should there be any issues or needs that arise. On the flip side, privacy is respected and use of the electronics is completely at your discretion!

Looking for the perfect getaway, you will find some peace and quiet here! Only 14.6 miles from I-40 and located on 97 acres, this campground is surrounded by nature, very secluded and private. There is a crystal-clear creek that runs parallel with the driveway and fresh spring water flowing from pipe in the rock close to the entrance on American Way. The creek is bio-diverse, filled with fascinating species, and spring fed, which means it stays cool in the summertime. There are three beautiful homes which are able to be rented out as well as a fourth home that is for the property managers. The A-frame log cabin at the top of the hill is called the Lodge. The second home, which is a two-story brown log Cabin, offers individual bedrooms. The third home is the Cottage. This is a special place and we are happy and honored to share it with you!
Peaceful Hills Retreat, a family owned business, started in May of 2017. It all began when Jennifer’s brilliant brother booked a two-story home through Airbnb for Jennifer and the family for a week in the Carolinas. Their Airbnb vacation was a great experience, and she loved having a kitchen to cook in, while traveling with her large family. She gladly said goodbye to tiny hotel rooms. Linda and her daughter, Jennifer realized they desired to run a BnB, and watched the scattered pieces beautifully fall into place.
Peaceful Hills Retreat is also a wedding venue. There are three beautiful spots for a lovely outdoor wedding. The waterfall site is a favorite. The lodge is a beautiful place for the reception to take place outdoors

Host was so nice. She showed us around the property and let us pick a site that worked best with our rooftop tent and set up. She showed us all of the amenities and gave us access to everything. The camp spots are spaced out from each other and are very peaceful. We had two adults and two small kids and they all enjoyed as well. The host was nice enough to educate us on some of the local critters, trees, and plants too. Forgot to take a picture of our setup while it was up, but here’s post camp pictures.

Had a great stay at Peaceful Hills! Met Jennifer when I arrived and spent the afternoon enjoying the weather. Only wished I could have stayed longer. Stayed at the Creekside site, and will definitely be back to try some other sites.

This is my 3rd time at Peaceful Hills and second time solo. I had a wonderful time as usual! The privacy of the campsite is awesome, especially as a beginner solo camper. I always feel super safe on the property and knowing that the host is just a call/text away if I need anything. Tried out the moonlit ridge site this time and it did not disappoint. I was able to see the stars and full moon with no issues which was really nice. I was also still able to get cell service on this site. There’s a portapotty close by for convenience and the picnic tables are always a huge plus. Can’t wait to explore more of the property and sites throughout the year!

We had such a quiet, enjoyable stay! Whippoorwills, turkeys and owls calling. Nice dark skies for star gazing in a beautiful hardwood forest. There weren't even mosquitoes to bother us. We had an idyllic evening there.

I have stayed at Peaceful Hills multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed my stays! The waterfall site is not quite as secluded as others, but it is easy to access and still quite peaceful. The only downside is there is not a full sized picnic table, only a small bistro table with two chairs. This made it difficult to cook, eat, play games, etc. But overall we had a wonderful time!

Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn was an outstanding place to stay. Its location made it incredibly convenient to explore nearby areas like Columbia, Mount Pleasant, and Spring Hill, while still offering a peaceful, countryside atmosphere.
Matthew was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and clearly dedicated to making sure guests have a great experience. His attention to detail really showed throughout our stay.
We used the property as a base camp for exploring the local mountain biking trails, and it couldn’t have worked out better. After long rides, it was the perfect place to come back, relax, and recharge.
The farm itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we’d absolutely recommend Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn to anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient getaway.

I had the most incredible time at Peaceful Hills. I stayed at Moonlight Ridge #30. The host Jennifer was so quick to respond to any questions and so helpful! The sunset views from my site were so peaceful and beautiful. You could see all the colors in the sky. Huge area for multiple tents and cars. I will for sure come again.

I had a good time tent camping at the waterfall site. It's away from all other sites, has plenty of space to spread out, and has a porta-potty nearby. This is my second time staying at this site and still highly recommend it. The directions were extremely clear, and the eggs/firewood add-ons were perfect.

Clean and quiet campground. Nice amenities. We would love to come back in the warmer months to use the swimming hole. Kids loved the playground. I never could get the Wi-Fi to have a good signal, but that is the only issue we had during our stay. Anytime I reached out to staff they answered the phone and were accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.
