Located at the edge of the prarie on the main trail is a sunrise/sunset/bird-watching platform that is 20 feet in the air with a 2 stage bridge to access it. We updated the outdoor kitchen with a 3 burner propane stove, propane grill and hot running water with a 3 bay sink. Other cooking options include a tripod over the fire and a charcoal grill. A short 10-minute drive to fire tower rd. brings you to a 2 mile loop trail with 2 waterfalls, Upper and Lower Piney Falls. Ozone falls is just a 20 minute drive. Then toward Spring City is Stinging Fork Falls at 25 minutes. Black mountain is my new favorite place especially the south overlook! The Hiking possibilities are nearly endless and close. I'll highlight one thru hike here since both trailheads are only 20 minutes away and is easy to coordinate with only 2 vehicles. It's a 10.2 mile hike that can be done in either direction and has a little something for everyone including a cave, boulder field, cascade and waterfall. Then you have massive Watts Bar Lake which is only 20 minutes away with a plethora of activities including the excursions we offer! We look forward to hosting you!

Only 2 houses are located past ours before the cul-de-sac. We are separated by trees and woods on both sides. Private yet very Conveniently located. Getting around Plenty of Convenient Parking located across the concrete driveway. A Large Heavy Duty Wagon is Available for loading and unloading. Plenty of Great biking and hiking spaces are all around. Close to Knoxville, Cumberland Gap, The Smokey Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cherokee NC and plenty of options should you choose to leave the lake for a while or your against fishing in the rain. We are located approximately 8 Miles to New Tazewell Municipal Airport and about 9 Miles to Woodlake Golf & Country Club. The Islandsite is probably one of, if not the most unique and beautiful campsites I’ve stayed at. Brian communicated everything we needed to know ahead of our arrival. We truly enjoyed our stay here! This was our second time camping at Brian’s land, and we finally got to meet him in person , he is so kind, caring, and genuinely checks in to make sure we were comfortable. He even helped guide us with some great hiking routes nearby, which made the trip even better. The campsite itself is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect getaway if you love nature. We highly recommend this spot, and future Hipcampers should know that the host is very approachable and the land is amazing. We will definitely come back again! 🌲🏕️

Weekend Trip to The Heart Center

My wife and I stayed in the yurt to get away from the noise and celebrate my birthday and the Heart Center truly delivered. The land and energy this place holds is incredible. Liz was a fantastic host and both my wife and I were able to have a reiki session with her while staying here. To stay it was transformational for both of us would be an understatement. Both of us learned so much from our sessions and left the Heart Center feeling lighter both physically & emotionally. We will definitely visit again in the future and Liz - thank you for what you do and putting together such an amazing place of healing and warmth admist the natural beauty of the area. Weekend Trip to Critter Camp

The host was very cordial and kind. She has a great deal of property there and had several other people come during the weekend however we were able to pull our travel trailer in a fenced area which allowed us to let our dog run free, which we greatly appreciated. This was the first hip camp we had ever stayed in and it worked out really well for us because it gave us the opportunity to be right in the middle of the things we wanted to see and do like Cade‘s Cove Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. She was actually hosting I believe a community scavenger hunt on our property and the other campers participated and had a good time with it. My husband and I just stayed within our little area because we’ve just recently gotten married and wanted our time.

This campsite is a unique mystical little campsite deep in the forest with two roaring creeks, its own little nature trails, and a great host! Islandsite was hands down the most beautiful campsite we have ever stayed at in the eastern US. The lack of cell service paired with the tent platform over a rushing and babbling creek made for glorious and chilly night’s sleep. We stayed 2 adults and 2 little boys and they spent the entire time exploring the creek with moss-covered rocks to their heart’s content. The camp bathroom was convenient, especially for the kids. We were expecting it to be completely primal and private, and not expecting the host to be staying in the camper on site, but Brian was very kind and helpful. The directions were accurate and the recommendation for the firewood for sale up the road was great for grabbing on the way in. Would definitely come back to camp or stay in the cute cabin.

Had a great experience tent camping at Islandsite! The campsite layout is one of the best and most interesting I've experienced. Got to meet Brian, he's very nice and knowlegeable about the whole area. He has 3 sites , all very cool designs, can't wait to try them all!

The clear walls and ceiling make for a forest emersed one of a kind experience. It is like sleeping on the porch when you were young. Comfy for the whole family.

I almost didnt want to write a review because I dont want people to know about how amazing this place is!! Brian is such a fantastic guy I had to say so! Wonderful stay, easy drive in an out, hands down best camp toilet setup, 45 minutes to the nearest grocery store. Felt very private, Brian was so respectful and thoughtful and he did a wonderful job building the sites and Island Trail. Cant wait to return. 10/10 one of my favorite places Ive camped. And I downloaded the Gaia app Brian! Its great thanks for telling me about it haha.

3 nights at Your Private Mountainside Retreat

I enjoyed my 3 night stay at this primitive campsite. I arrived late in the evening and GPS took me almost to the right road to turn on. Unfortunately for me, there is another road 75 ft before the actual road where one is to turn. I mistakenly took that road and ended up having to do a near impossible turn around given my truck length and short 12 foot trailer) near some dumpsters and the exit from another campground/trailer park. The host's directions are very good, it was just darkness and unfamiliar area that led to my challenge. The entrance gate was at the end of a condo complex and kind of looks like a dead end. I was relieved the gate code worked and I was quickly through. I proceeded down the single lane gravel path til it opened in to a small clearing sufficient to turn around and park in. I actually parked on the road as Brian said I would be the only traffic. The site was peaceful, quite and felt surrounded by woods. There's a little bit of mountain view in one direction. Signage both by the condo garbage dumpster you pass on the way and at the actual campsite remind you you are in bear country and need to take appropriate precautions. I didn't see any bears, but did see plenty of deer scat and one pile my imagination said could be from a bear. I was happy to have my more secure camper to stay in. If tent camping, I would recommend familiarizing oneself with how to do that safely. It was a great home base for me during my short visit. I definitely will go back.

Very hospitable, friendly host! Extremely polite. The site is remote and as pictured. I fully intend to visit again, next year. Leaves peak change is nearing (guessing a week plus) - traffic may be heavy getting there. The scenery makes it a worthy destination.

We loved tent camping here!! It was literally a mini paradise. The most beautiful site we have ever stayed at. The directions from Brian on how to get there were clear and made finding the site very easy. We are looking forward to our next trip and booking this site again!
