The French Creek runs through the property, lots of wildlife frequents the area. The creek features a couple of wide pools. The rest of the creek is fairly narrow with slow moving water. This is a top notch hip camp! The owners property is just stunning and it's so convenient to all the local tourist spots. It's also priced great for full hook ups which was a nice change from so many hip camps that want $70/night for nothing. About 15-30 min to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Jewel Cave and Wind Cave. It snowed the few days we were there which was just beautiful and so peaceful. You're also about 5 min from Custer where you have plenty of shopping and restaurants. Really just a perfect location, they also have a little cabin so if you had a group with an rv and without this spot can accommodate either. Highly recommend and if we're ever back in the area will definitely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Star Valley RV Camp Spot

We stayed at the property for 4 nights in our Motor Home and it was a perfect location to use as home base for all the things in the area to do. We saw Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Jewel Cave, Wind Cave and even made the 2 hour drive to Badlands. Other than Badlands, everything else was about 15-30 min away. Little town of Custer provided some places to eat and shopping. The property is in the most beautiful and secluded location. It snowed when we were there which just added to the beauty. And lots of deer all the time. We were the only ones staying there so it was really quiet, even Kurt was out of town. They have a little cabin adjacent to the rv parking spot but no one there while we were staying. Would have been cool to have other family in the cabin and sharing the fire pit area. The rv space was pretty level, full power, water and sewer hook ups which are awesome to have. Price was very reasonable for that as well. Would definitely recommend Kurt's place! Beautiful spot!

Kurt is an amazing host in more ways than one. After I texted him saying we were set to arrive in our RV in the middle of the night, he gave detailed instructions on where to park. Not only that, but he congratulated us via text after he awoke on the good job of parking in the dark, since we had already left for the Buffalo Round up in our car. We reserved the site for two weeks but our son was with us and he was anxious to get home after being away for months hiking the Continental Divide Trail. We left after only five days and Kurt graciously agreed to refund us. He was so understanding and even spoke to my husband in person. The site is amazing because it is in the middle of the countryside with no other RVs. Accommodations were excellent...great wifi. We highly recommend this host/site and hope to return in the future.

Good location for visiting Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, and Mammoth Site of Hot Springs. Hidden Lake is clean, quiet, and has great trails for walking our dogs. If in the area, we would stay there again.

Hidden Lake was a little slice of paradise. While we were the only ones in a tent and not an RV, people were nice and we had a blast swimming and paddle boarding on the lake. Tons of wildlife and the bathrooms were well located and clean. Amazing stay, would definitely recommend!
