Weekend Trip to Camp Moondog

We had an amazing time at this camp! The place is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, scenic, and just a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy nature. Everything was well set up and just felt really nice to be there. The host was fantastic — super friendly, a great communicator, and made sure everything went smoothly. Honestly, everything about this experience was just perfect. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed this spot! We arrived late and it was nice that there were solar powered string lights there to assist us with setting up our camp. From looking at the turtles to fishing and swimming- we had an amazing time. The site itself was on a hill/ cliff so we hd a great view of the river and were able to keep our mermaid dog from disappearing into the river unattended. There is also a little swimming hole right below the site that you can acess with a steep little climb down. This site is very sandy just FYI so do prepare to plan for that during your trip. There was also plenty of privacy. We would definitely visit again.

Fern Gully was the PERFECT primitive site for my husband's and my getaway. The host was very protective of our privacy, the river running right in front of the campsite was so lovely, and the string lights added a beautiful ambiance! Not very far from the site was Greenville and a ton of places to eat, and about an hour from the site was a hike to the tallest waterfall in SC which has a suspension bridge that goes right over it. Overall, 10/10 experience, we recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from life for a bit!

Fern Gully was even better than the photos! Such a cute campsite with direct access to the river (even caught my first fish 😊). Privacy was 10/10! Mike & Kelly are awesome hosts and very communicative. We’ll definitely be back!

This was a great site with lots of shade coverage from the trees and the river running next to it made for a wonderful camping spot. The site is very flat with lots of options for tent set up. Although close to civilization, this spot was quiet and peaceful.

Serenity on Saluda was very nice and peaceful just what we like! And the hostess was very nice and accommodating!

Weekend Trip to Cedar Ridge

After years of using Hipcamp, this might be our favorite stay yet! The location was perfect and gave us easy access to Pisgah, Table Rock, Caesar’s Head and downtown Brevard. The site was exactly how it was described and worked perfectly for our stay. The porta potty was extremely clean and there was drinking water available. Our site was flat, private and still had nice views of the field next to it. The fire pit was great and got lots of use from us. Andy was a super helpful and kind host. It was great speaking with him about the property and local attractions. He suggested the Cedar Mountain Outpost for coffee and we loved it. We typically go to Brevard and Pisgah once a year so we will definitely be staying here every time we visit! 10/10

Beautiful wooded location. Very quiet. Nicely in between DuPont and Pisgah for biking. Hosts were very helpful.

We loved site 3 with the deck! The host was very responsive! The bathroom and shower house was clean and well kept! Firewood on site was a huge plus for us!!

Weekend Trip to Private Yurt with Woodstove & Creek

This is an amazing little yurt and campsite! Everything is very well thought out by farmer sprout and makes for a lovely little getaway. There is lots of misc camping equipment in the shed (so if you forget things like we did, you’re covered)! And the micro greens we added on were super yummy! We had such a pleasant weekend away watching fireflies and listening to the creek. 100/10 recommend!! Thank you farmer sprout!! As an aside, I was a little concerned about the compost toilet at first, but it was super easy to use and so much cleaner than any other campsite toilet I’ve ever used! Definitely don’t let that deter you!

Weekend Trip to Broken Oak Riverside Getaway

From start to finish, our holiday weekend was amazing at Riverside site #2. We felt like we were deep in the woods despite easy access to modern life if we needed it (we didn't!). Craig was very responsive and provided everything we needed. There were no bugs, the tree canopy helped with rain and every moment was emerged in the beauty and solitude of the saluda river by our side. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Camp Moondog

Mike and Kelly were so friendly as well as their two cute dogs. (We only seen the dogs or heard them when we met) Though we were hoping we would see them adventuring too but didn’t. They had great communication our whole stay but gave us our privacy. Said if we needed anything to let them know. We did need one thing and Mike was very fast in bringing that down. Upon arriving we walked down to check it out. Parking is literally a 1 minute walk from the site as stated. They do have a steep hill to walk up and down but that was fine. You walk through the start of the path and you’re welcomed by this nice creek that leads to the huge river where your site is and has these cute little solar lights hanging at your tent area. They’re not bright but give off just enough light to not bother. ( don’t worry! You can turn them off if it’s unwanted) The site has plenty of room! There are lots of places to go adventuring and fishing. The camp site had a nice little honey hole for fishing and a huge rock to climb on that gives you a wonderful view of the river! We didn’t actually see any wild animals but did see prints. This site is nestled away from the city but is a 5 minute drive from a superstore if you had forgotten to bring anything. On a trip to the store they were picking blueberries and was so nice and offered some. Best ones I’ve ever had! Better than store bought! I highly recommend camp moondog to anyone who wants to get away. It was a very nice stay and will be coming back!

What a great site, private and well maintained! The trek from the car to the site is about 5 minutes. But was made easy as Mike our host came with his ATV and carrier to haul most of our stuff for us! We will definitely be back!

We booked last minute and Mark and Chrissy responded quickly with instructions. It was the perfect, quiet campground for what we needed. Fire pit, chairs, and picnic table were nice and the portapotty was clean.

Weekend Trip to Cedar Ridge

We booked Jennifer and Andy’s property last minute on a holiday weekend and had such an amazing experience. The property is conveniently located near Brevard and near a lot of trails. The sites were all private, clean, beautiful and felt very immersed in nature. They offer firewood (well priced for what you get), have a freshwater spot and a very clean and well kept porta john close to the campsites. We greatly enjoyed the peaceful nights watching fireflies and started our mornings around the corner at Cedar Mountain Outpost with delicious local beverages and foods. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing experience in nature. We had such a good time and will be sure to book with them again in the future!

Andy was a great host for us. He stopped by after we setup and promptly took the time to see if we needed anything. A quick trip back and he was dropping off firewood, a trash bag, and some hand sanitizer for the bathroom. He was very friendly and I would stay here again when in the area.
