Hi! We are excited that you are thinking of camping with us. You'll be staying on our farm, which is a working horseback riding and equine therapy facility as well as a sanctuary for many other animals (including mini cows, turkeys, chickens, a pig, alpacas, goats, and a llama!) But don't worry, your campsite is surrounded by beauty and privacy. Enjoy walking through the woods, sharing a picnic while visiting with the animals, or just having relaxing in nature! We also sell farm fresh eggs by the half-dozen for $2, so you can cook your own egg breakfast if you would like! Our campsites are rustic. We do provide a port-a-potty on site as well as 7 gallons of drinking-safe water. There is a King Camp portable shower on-site, and we live on site at the front of the property in case of emergency. Each campsite has a fire pit, and a bucket of water is provided for safety. There is a convenience store and gas station 1/2 mile away, so snacks and fuel can be easily accessed. If you're looking for extremely quiet, we may not be the right fit, as our animals don't keep quiet hours so you may hear a moo or a crow at any time, but we think it's fantastic here! Tents and RVs are welcome! RV folks, we do NOT have hookups at this time, so you will be boon docking. If you're looking for nearby attractions, here are some to check out: Lake Lure- 45 min. Isothermal Rail Trail- 20 min. Strawberry Hill Farm Stand and Restaurant- 10 min. Purple Martin Greenway Trail- 20 min. Pearson Falls and Glen- 35 min. Linville Caverns- 1 hr., 15 min. Lake Bowen- 15 min. Lake Jocassee (Devil's Fork State Park)- 1 hr., 30 min. KidSenses Interactive Museum- 22 min. Children's Museum of the Upstate- 50 min. There are plenty of places to explore! We are 25 minutes from Rutherfordton or Tryon, 20 minutes to Forest City, 30 minutes to Landrum or Spartanburg, 45 min. to Greenville and an hour to Asheville.

Buddy's Speakeasy

Buddy's Speakeasy is a tent only site located in a lovely spot nearest our small animal enclosure. You will be very near the cows and horses as well. The site is flat and is situated in a clearing backed by beautiful woods. There are two picnic tables nearby (though not in the campsite), a fire pit, and solar powered string lights. There is room for one standard-sized car or truck at the site. If nearby site, Sleepy Cow Haven, is booked, you will be able to see your neighbors, but there is plenty of room for everyone. You will have access to a port-a-potty and a camp shower (you must heat the water provided if you want hot water) as well as water for your campfire. There are no hookups at this site. We do provide one trash bag and one recycling box at the campsite and ask that you leave them behind at the campsite when you leave.

Pine Tree Trail

Pine Tree Trail is our most secluded site, located a short walk or drive down a trail into the woods. There is a parking spot for one standard-sized vehicle at the site. Unfortunately, this site will not accommodate an RV. You may still visit the animals on the farm, but you will be surrounded by woods, so you cannot see the rest of the farm from the site. Water for drinking and/or showering as well as water for extinguishing a campfire is provided. You will need to walk to the port potty and camp shower as well as to the picnic tables. Trash bag and recycling box are provided.

Sleepy Cow Haven

Sleepy Cow Haven is a tent or rv site (boon docking only) located in a lovely clearing near our two mini Zebus, Cornbread and Chicken Nugget, as well as their full-sized rescued steer friend, Petey. The site is flat and is situated in a cove surrounded on three sides by beautiful woods. There are two picnic tables nearby (though not in the campsite), a fire pit, and solar powered string lights. There is room for one standard-sized car or truck at the site. If nearby site, Buddy's Speakeasy, is booked, you will be able to see your neighbors, but there is plenty of room for everyone. You will have access to a port-a-potty and a camp shower (you must heat the water provided if you want hot water) as well as water for your campfire. There are no hookups at this site. We do provide one trash bag and one recycling box at the campsite and ask that you leave them behind at the campsite when you leave.

This is a 50 amp rv hook up only. We can also provide water from this location. The only downfall is it sits right on the edge of the woods behind our house. Our property has many animals to see and visit. : ) Thank you!!

Buddy's Speakeasy
I loved car camping at Buddy's speakeasy! It was very easy to find and I was greeted by a dancing horse as I entered the property. I loved it here! There were sooooo many animals. My site was already with wood for my fire and the farm fresh eggs were so beautiful and delicious. I was greeted the next morning by a pack of horses at my site. That was amazing. They were all so friendly. Had a great night sleep and enjoyed a lovely tour of the farm with Crista the next morning. I cant wait to return and see what's new. Thank you for a great experience.

Great Farm Camping

Sleepy Cow Haven
We really enjoyed our overnight at Winding Creek Stables. Nice, quiet camping spot and it was easy to maneuver our 13 footer. Hosts were great! They provided some firewood and water and their directions to the site made it very easy to find. Beautiful pastures and love the animals!

Pine Tree Trail
I loved my stay on Jessica's property!! Her and her folks were super hospitable and made sure I had everything I needed during my stay. The animals on the property were all super adorable and I enjoyed waking up each morning and petting them. I made sure to buy some of their farm fresh eggs as well. The campsite itself was nice, secluded and spacious. Couldn't ask for anything more, really!

Sleepy Cow Haven
My 12 year old daughter and I had a GREAT time at Sleepy Cow Haven. They provided a really nice fire pit, pre cut wood, a good table and water. The porta potty was absolutely immaculate. The animals were VERY well taken care of and friendly. 10/10 would recommend to all!
