Very nice concrete site with water, 30/50 amp hookups and sewer. You can be at Folly beach for activities or dinner in 10 to 15 minutes and to Charleston and local plantations in 30 minutes. The hosts were very accommodating.

4 nights at Sea Island Serenity Trails

We had a wonderful stay! Wendy is super accommodating and easy to talk to. To help answer some questions about the site, there's a large military style tent, and a small Coleman camper to stay in or there's plenty of room to bring your own RV or travel trailer. You can pull thru from the back of the site if needed. There is full hookups shared with the Coleman. The sewer is a dump bin that would need to be pumped if it gets full. We were there 4 nights without a problem. Extra power cable and water line might be needed. Inside the large tent is some seating along with a table, chairs and activities for kids and adults. There's also a small oven roaster, water kettles, and small fridge. There is a large fire pit, wood provided. Lots of table and chairs around the grounds. Also a port-a-jon and shower closet if needed. There's plenty of room for kids to ride bikes, play on the little ninja course or climb the tire wall. There's a trail at the back that takes you to a playground and rec center. Lots of pretty little decorations and solar lights all around. Some weren't working but no big deal. Couldn't get the patio lights to come on with the remote. Again, not really needed but cute. Super Walmart and shopping 5 minutes away. There are other permanent campers nearby but not too close. They live there. We still had plenty of privacy. If we ever traveled back to Beaufort we'd definitely stay again!

We had a great time visiting Beaufort. The campsite is in a good central location to lots of attractions and history. It is not a destination campsite, but a great private spot to stretch out with plenty of room. A little tight to get in and out with larger campers. But doable. Host were helpful without being overbearing. We enjoyed and would not hesitate to stay again. Thanks

Why buy a home when you can build a fairytale? Hi, I'm Curt. My wife Ani, son Fitch, and I are your average, everyday nonconformists who have been running an experiment. We are trying to figure out if a family can use their own hands and some grit to handcraft a life that you don't need a vacation from. Or better yet, that you would vacation to. Have we done that? You be the judge. About 4 years ago we left our South Florida handcrafting furniture business to pursue this new goal. We set out to build an inspiring experience in simple, eco-friendly living that would find a harmony between some of the old fashioned world that we'd found ourselves missing, and the handful of modern advancements that were actually beneficial. All while keeping it classy. At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cabins, installing solar, composting, planting, and building toilets that are better for our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature. Ani and I are big believers in being mindful and respectful of our environment wherever reasonable. So, we are incorporating both alternative and municipal utilities as they can fit into our homestead design and limited budget. Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" small living can feel. We all have personal priorities and those will vary greatly, and that's okay. But no person should be so self-absorbed that we have completely shut out the importance of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our fellowman. After all, if we don't have that, what do we have? To be completely transparent, though, the creatives in us also would like it if we inspired onlookers to possibly look at their own space and life a little bit differently. We've personally found it to be so fulfilling to distinguish real desires and needs from the ones we've been groomed to pursue, and then work to make them a reality. We've found it energizing to witness our fellowmen and women pursuing a dream. We'd like to be a stimulating memory along any person's journey. Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, and that they can appreciate some of our old-fashioned ways. That, as our paths cross, we won't be held to a business-first standard that we have worked hard to remove ourselves from. We realize everyone has a right to be themselves, but our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm.

The plantation is rich in Civil War history and people still find arrowhead 's, Civil war buttons and other Civil War related items on the dirt roads where the soldiers marched through the plantation. The bathroom is private. It is VERY IMPORTANT that only toilet paper goes in the toilet. We have a super sensitive septic system. We have a small trashcan for any feminine products etc. You have your own parking spot and there is a short 30 foot trail to your yurt. Food and restaurants are very nearby in town and I provide a complete list of all my recommendations.For guests who stay in the Sandcastle, there is an outdoor shower, a pool, Also, a kitchenette and grill, fridge, sink, and personal fire pit are available for your use.We have an aquaponic pond with koi that feed our hydroponic vegetable garden and multiple bee hives that pollinate everything. We also have many fruit trees on the property. There is a pond for our ducks, and the intracoastal river that is just a walk down the street.Check out is no later than noon.Guests are encouraged to explore the 6 acre property, relax by the pond, on the deck or by the pool. Unfortunately you just can’t go behind the gates without me.There is access to a outdoor fire pit (wood is available for purchase), the outdoor shower and an outhouse.High-speed internet is provided free of charge. It only works closer to the main house, so you may have to sit outside to access it. Download those movies! There are two grocery stores within a couple of miles away.Our own eggs, honey and vegetables are available for purchase.
