104 acres of private land for your enjoyment. This site would be best suited for tent campers at the moment due to no bath houses or electricity for the time being. Come enjoy your stay bring a kayak or canoe and float around the 6 acres of ponds and catch some of the many bass, bream or crappie that occupy the waters. The property is located 7 miles off highway 74/76 in Whiteville and 10 miles to Lake Waccamaw, 32 miles to Ocean Isle Beach, 45 miles to Wilmington, 36 miles to North Myrtle Beach. The road is gravel all the way to the camping area with signs for directions. When there’s no burn ban in place or lack of rain i do try to keep firewood on-site but I recommend checking with me before your stay. 3.5 acre property, last remaining part of old inlet horse farm, with plenty of natural buffers from the few neighbors in our vicinity and between our camp sites, as well as the road. So close to everything the inlet area has to offer. Beaches, tidal inlet with boat ramps, Waccamaw River with boat ramps, restaurants, shops, bars, State Parks, nature preserves, fun attractions and much, much more, all just moments away. We are set up as a “primitive” camping experience, the property is kept very natural, unmanicured for the most part, little to no herbicides or insecticides used here. It’s a work in progress, is difficult for me to tackle chores due to physical disabilities, so some private areas are disorganized at this time. I live here full time, with two cats & 5 chickens whom are all free range.
I live here in a double wide by myself, two outdoor cats. Deer, fox, rabbits, hawks and the like are common visitors. This is brand new to me, lots of improvements to be made in the future to make a guests stay even better, so for right now it’s bare bones. Can accommodate tents or certain campers. No pump out, no electricity or running water for “sites” yet, if ever, but running water is here and available for free.
Additions to come soon: outdoor shower, available compost toilet available for rent while here, fresh herbs, vegetables, fresh local eggs, firewood, and covered gathering/ cooking area (not built yet) and much more, I’m really excited. Open to idea’s and options. No fireworks/ gunfire allowed at anytime, no “parties”, but gatherings, campfires, games and fun always welcome.
I prefer meeting guests apon arrival to answer any questions and help all feel comfortable. I do have medical conditions that may prohibit it at times though.

This was the best boondock camping spots I’ve stayed at thus far. The campsite sat right along the river, giving it a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Waking up to the sound of the water and being able to sit outside with the river just a few steps away made the experience feel private and scenic.
The area was quiet, open, and perfect for relaxing, cooking outside, fishing, or just enjoying nature without the crowds of a regular campground. Since it was boondocking, there were no major hookups or extra amenities, but that added to the peaceful off-grid feel. It was a great place to disconnect, enjoy the outdoors, and take in the view especially with the deer roaming around. The host was very nice, responsive and very catering to my questions. I really liked that.
Overall, this riverfront boondock camping spot was simple, beautiful, and exactly what camping should feel like. It’s on the top of my list and I’ll definitely be booking it soon AGAIN!

Only issue, which has nothing to do Jeff or the space, is that there must be some kind of puppy mill/dog breeding operation up the river. The peace of my recent stay was somewhat diminished by the sound of distressed dogs barking for quite a long time.

We enjoyed a peaceful overnight in a beautiful, rustic setting! We had a 32’ Minnie Winnie and a 16’ trailer, and we were able to pull-thru. Lisa was a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful, and we loved meeting all her furry friends! An added bonus was Lisa’s little store that offers high quality, farm-fresh meats. We highly recommend this experience and look forward to our next visit!

I loved camping there. It is a very beautiful place to camp. And very quiet 🤫 And a very large open space all to yourself. And there is big fish in the pond. If you can get them to bite. The pond is very clear so you can see them. Having a cover shelter with concrete patting is a very nice edition for cooking and getting out of the heat. We will definitely be coming back as soon as work allows.

We needed a place to stop over night and Double L fit the bill. Lisa, the host, was very responsive, welcoming, and met us at the gate to guide us to our spot. Since we were there only one night, we didn't get a chance to check out the farm attractions. It felt safe and not crowded at all. All the hookups were in good condition and easily accessible. Our only issue (and this was really on us) is that the electric was 50 amp and we have 30 amp. A quick drive to Wally world for an adapter that I had been meaning to buy anyway solved that problem. Quick access to the interstate got us on our way quickly the next morning. We would stay again. Thanks for the southern hospitality, Lisa!

We camped with a 23’ travel trailer and we fit nicely into site 1. Very private and peaceful. Scott was very welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed chatting with him, getting some history about his property, the community and recommendations on where to eat. The Marshwalk and Drunken Jacks were great! We’d definitely stay again next time we are passing through.
