Weekend Trip to Serenity on the Saluda

Not just a beautiful spot on the river, but a great host as well. We are going again. A clean out house and beautiful spacious campsights to enjoy. Although remote, if you find you need anything, it's a short 10 minutes drive to a store/gas station. I recommend this campsite. A great river to enjoy.

Had a great time at tent site #1. I enjoy fishing and there were lots of fish to be had! Craig was responsive. Lots of fresh air with pretty flowers around the property. The bathroom and shower were super clean.

2 nights at Triple J Farm and Campground

I had a quiet, peaceful time at Triple J Farm. Jessica met me on arrival and led me out to the site. She helped me carry my stuff in and even came out at 10 p.m. to warn me there was a severe thunderstorm warning, and if I wanted to come in, I was welcome. The dogs on the property are super friendly. One even decided to hang out with me as I walked the creek. Even with the heat of summer, the air around the creek is cool and the water cooler. If you have sensitive feet, wear water shoes, lots of rocks, slate and mica. If you wanted to, you could definitely find some rough gems. The area is also heavy in wild blackberries. I was a little too early but still got to enjoy some sun-warmed juiciness! While there are plenty of spots to hang a hammock, I found a spot right next to the creek, where I peacefully finished a couple of books I was reading. It was beautiful! I’ll be back!

2 nights at Broken Oak Riverside Getaway

Campsite 1, it's one of those places you can actually get to with a truck, which is a minor miracle when you're hauling kids and all the gear they seem to require. The beach is sandy, good for swimming, and even better for a little fishing if you're like my son and I. My boy spent hours picking wild blackberries along the shore, inspecting rocks, swimming, and catching trout. You're not far from the Middle Saluda if you get a serious itch to fish before check in, and the farm stands and gas stations are close enough for when you inevitably forget something crucial. The owners clearly keep up the place, and I’m astonished and so incredibly happy they’re willing to share it with campers. I'll be back to the campsite for sure. Thanks again Craig!

1 night at Triple J Farm and Campground

We LOVED camping here ! We are not campers by sport and are in no way, experts but this was amazing. The property is sooo cute ! We went on a walk and picked a basketful of blackberries 🥰 The goats provided everything we needed to be comfy, the yurt area was perfect for our small family. The creek, swing, grill, and all. We loved it ! A really bad thunderstorm hit the night we stayed and we hunkered down and made it through. It was an experience we will NEVER forget and can't wait to visit again. Our kids loved them panning in the creek, and the shower - the outdoor shower was the favorite lol

Such a fabulous host and overall excellent experience! Just book it and know you are going to experience something truly unique on this property and be well taken care of. Every detail has been very uniquely crafted. During our stay we felt very safe, relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful sounds of the river. The nights came alive with a beautiful moon and the sounds of nature. Coyotes in the far distance, raccoon, and a beautiful herd of deer drinking from the river. I hope all others who visit will respect and appreciate it as much as we did!

Wonderful spot and will absolutely go back. The site was clean and had plenty of room for our family. It was peaceful and we didn’t hear any of the other campers down the river from us. Craig was excellent with communication.

Absolutely the best place we have camped in South Carolina! Peaceful, clean, private and right on the N. Saluda river! The owner is great! No negativity of any kind with our 4 night stay. We WILL be going back!!!

John's land was a great spot. Wide view of the river with a wonderful view of the sunrise over the trees. I highly recommend kayaking from the dam to the campsite. The rapids are fun and it's a great way to spend the day. Having a composting toilet on site was a nice touch. Overall the experience was an absolute treat and I'll likely be going back at some point.

Spacious, clean site, fantastic river view, super quiet. John is an awesome host. And the river itself is great for novice kayakers. There's very little cell service down in that valley so be prepared to be blissfully without it. Google is indeed not as accurate as it could be so here's a link to the start of the gravel road. We really enjoyed our time at Craig’s site! The campsite (2) felt very private. We have three boys ages 16 years to 4 years old and they loved it as well. We also brought our two fur babies. The river is just feet away from the campsite and was perfect for floating. We brought sand toys as well which was perfect for the sandy area. The bathroom was a fantastic plus. Craig was fast to respond with any questions we had. We can’t wait to come back!

We absolutely enjoyed Craig's land. The creek and beach are clean. The bath house is amazing, clean and perfect. The added features available in the greenhouse was a wonderful addition. There is highway noise but not enough to ruin the experience.

Loved the quietness and the feeling of being totally remote being do close to Greenville. It was perfect for friends to be able to come up for the day to enjoy the river with us, but allowed us to still be "camping". The facilities are just a described and the hosts are great communicators. We will be back.

From start to finish, our holiday weekend was amazing at Riverside site #2. We felt like we were deep in the woods despite easy access to modern life if we needed it (we didn't!). Craig was very responsive and provided everything we needed. There were no bugs, the tree canopy helped with rain and every moment was emerged in the beauty and solitude of the saluda river by our side. We will be back!

Such a private, wonderful campsite! It’s exactly what we were looking for with our 2 kids (ages 5 and 7). It had a nice, flowing river stream with lots of river rocks and also sand for them to play in. It was a great mix of sun and shade, depending on the time of day. It felt so private and we felt safe exploring around our area. We pitched our extra large tent in the spot closest to the water - we loved hearing the constant flow of running water from the river! The firewood bundle gave us a nice fire for dinner, s’mores and even breakfast since it was a chillier morning. The bathroom was a short, easy walk for us and was very clean and well-stocked with toilet paper. We had a sound machine so the road noise wasn’t too bad for us at night - our kids slept great! They are already begging to come back here.

It was truly more than we could have asked for, it was quiet, the little river was so great to hear at night. My 2 dogs absolutely loved it! They loved swimming and running around. The other camps site were a distance away, so you couldn't hear anything going on in their camps. The shower, and bathroom combo was great. The directions were easy, it was very beautiful there! Would definitely stay again! Thank you so much, for a great time!

We would be happy to supply a comprehensive list of the various local attractions upon request but the following are a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; drive the Blue Ridge parkway; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. The scenic drives to Asheville, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk make them each wonderful day-trip destinations.

The North saluda River is just a few short steps away from the front door of your tent.
