With a history of growing sweet juicy apples, the soil in this part of the world has proven to be excellent for peaches, muscadines, scuppernongs, and blueberries. The kind of neighbors' people dream of! In five years of renting this site I have only had one couple that felt uncomfortable with the homes on our driveway. The Community Lake Front Site offers fire pits, deck, dock to fish, swim, kayak from. The Community Site is approximately 1/8 mi away; can drive or walk. Lots of wild life including deer, turkeys, birds etc. The song birds at sun up and sun set are significant! Hickory trees abound and nuts drop Sept./Oct. I loved the small cabin #1 on Carrie and Tom's land. It was the perfect amount of space for two people. Tom was super friendly and made his rounds everyday to make sure we had everything we needed. The river was so close we could walk right down and fish. The grounds were well kept, clean and always kept warm in 20 degree low temps with plenty of heaters and an extra blanket to hang over our door for extra warmth. We will be coming back in the spring and summer and bringing friends for sure to enjoy with us! A+++++

This house was my grand mothers home place. The house is vacant now we use it for storage.

We loved our campsite! Hosts were friendly and helpful. We were right by the river just as the pictures showed and other campers weren't super close. There was a small play set for the kids and an easy hiking trail toward the end of the property. We were able to get firewood on the site and we had a great time!

My family loved this Asheville retreat! This was our first time in the area and although it was a short trip, it was mighty! Jam packed full of tons of touristy activities within the city, but also exploring trails and sights along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nate and Stephanie’s place was the perfect distance to not be too far away, allowing us to enjoy the evening out from under the city lights, but also still close enough to all of the various activities that we did. Throughout everything we did, my son (7) said the hot tub was his favorite part. It’s also worth mentioning that when the hosts found out we were arriving well after dark, they made the effort to turn the lights on for us, which most definitely helped with our arrival. Nate and Stephanie, thank you for allowing us to call your place “home”. We look forward to returning again some day!

Had a great time in cabin #2. This is a rustic cabin next to a stream. Waze GPS got us right to camp site. Tom the camp host greeted us shortly after we arrived and was so helpful on tips to keep cabin cozy. He also gave us a map and excellent directions to Dupont Forest. Camp restrooms/showers are a short walk from cabin. Port a potty even closer than restrooms. Camp ground has a good vibe. Front door didn't lock. Smore kit for extra fee was awesome, also some assorted snacks available. There is a small store nearby to get basics. No phone or internet service available at campground. Relax and unplug!

The real highlight, though, was the hot tub—it was clean, and ideal for unwinding after a day of hiking.

We truly cannot say enough good things about these hosts or this property! They welcomed me and my little family with more kindness than we’ve ever experienced traveling or even near home. I’ve been through a lot emotionally and physically, and we came hoping to heal they made us feel safe, cared for, and supported. From leaving an apple for my son when he qhickly needed some fiber, to helping with groceries and packages, to lending us a propane fire pit and giving my little one a tiny shovel, their kindness never stopped. We honestly felt like God placed us on their property for a reason. We are forever grateful. The property is immaculate with beautiful views. Even with a nearby road, it was incredibly quiet- early mornings and nights were almost ethereal, like being deep in the country. The pavilion was wonderful, and river access just steps away was perfect for skipping rocks and listening to the peaceful water. We also loved the community garden and the kind neighbors. Star gazing during the solar storm was completely amazing because of the extremely low light pollution from any cities. SHOOTING STARS GALORE! Ceaser's head was only minutes away and so was Cup & Saucer coffee shop that had amazing pumpkin spice lattes and an allergy friendly quiche! This stay was full of warmth and peace. These hosts truly feel like family to us, and because of them, we now want to move to the area. We will never forget our time here and highly, highly recommend staying with them. ❤️

We loved tent camping on Ashley's land! He was very hospitable and kind. We loved hearing about all the animals and things he was doing with his time. We were right by the creek, so at night it was very soothing. Our children loved playing and throwing the ball with Ashley's dogs. It was our first time camping, so we didn't know what to expect but it was one of the best experiences yet and there was even a shower! We can't wait to go back! Thanks for the great time guys!
