Weekend Trip to Peace & Quiet by the River!

We stayed at Site 3 which was perfect for our group. Everyone was able to spread out and have their own space. The campsite itself is sloped with a few flat areas that are suitable for tents. Plan accordingly if rain is in the forecast. This is one of the more expensive Hipcamps in the area, but you get what you pay for. Susan’s communication is stellar and she’s put a lot of thought into her property and the campsites. We will be coming back.

2 nights at Peace & Quiet by the River!

Always a pleasure to be at site 2. I want to say it’s my time 7th there, but it’s probably my 6th. Water levels were perfect. This time of the year, the water is a little chilly but that did not stop us from taking a dip! The site, as always, was set up for what we needed. Usually, we venture into town for a burger, but we just wanted to stay in our special place. It’s why we keep coming back.

Great rough camping situation to where you have no one at your back door. Each site is well spaced. Even if they had another camper you would never know it. Unfortunately it was a rainy night. Could enjoy the campfire and listen to the crickets.

The view was awesome and the sites were clean and nice. Porta John’s were also clean and nice with hand washing station. Close to town and kayaking. Plan on coming back to do the train with our kids one day, I would definitely come back

3 nights at Forks Farm Campground

Once a year my cousin and I pack our bags for a few days away, and Forks Farm was the perfect venue for our trip! Our hosts were super fantastic and friendly. Showed us all the different spots on the property to choose from to set up camp. The Forks Farm store was SO convenient and full of tasty vittles (bacon, hotdogs, and burgers were AMAZING). My cousin got reiki by the creek while I enjoyed reading a book, and a afternoon nap to the sounds of the rippling creek. So tranquil and regenerative! Also, great location to get out for a hike at Ricketts Glen and highly recommend a swing by Colonel Ricketts Cidery. Can't wait to come back again and share with friends & family. If you're considering a stay we say...DO IT!

Weekend Trip to Fluffy Butt Rescue Animal Sanctuary

We loved glamping at Fluffy Butt Sanctuary!!! The tent is beautiful and the bed is so comfortable! The sound of the stream was so peaceful. Highly recommend bringing coffee grounds and using the percolator. We LOVED getting to see all of the beautiful animals! Rae is so nice and welcoming. Directions are clear and she is very responsive to questions. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful trip with amazing rescue animals😍

2 nights at Organic Farm in the Pocono Mts.

Nice spot with some great views of the Delaware valley. Old farmstead with fields to saunter in. Level site, big fire pit and lots of space to relax. Goats are great for kids to mingle with. Tons of berry bushes if you’re there in June/July. Easy access off 209 (though you can hear some traffic at night). Waterfront park just down the road. Water Gap is 10 mins away. Driveway is steep, be careful in wet weather. Some poison ivy around if allergic, so be careful in spring. Certainly a place we may revisit in another season.

1 night at 100 Mile View Camping

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the 100 Mile View Campground in Jim Thorpe, PA, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and the stunning natural beauty that surrounds this campground. One of the highlights of our stay was the unique wine tasting experience offered right on site. It was a delight to sample a variety of local wines, and the ability to purchase our favorites made it even better. Enjoying a glass of exquisite wine while taking in the breathtaking views was truly magical! Speaking of views, 100 Mile View Campground lives up to its name. The panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains and valleys are nothing short of spectacular. We spent our evenings sitting by the campfire, soaking in the scenery and watching the sunset paint the sky in brilliant hues. The campground itself is well-maintained, with spacious sites that offer plenty of privacy. The facilities are clean and convenient, enhancing our overall comfort during the stay. Whether you’re an avid camper or new to the experience, this campground provides a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. For anyone looking for a getaway that combines nature, wine, and stunning landscapes, I highly recommend 100 Mile View Campground. I can’t wait to return!

4 nights at Fairie Tale Farm

We stayed at the moondance retreat site at Fairie Tale Farm over Memorial Day weekend for my husbands 30th birthday! It was our first camping trip in our new camper, and we couldn't have picked a better place. Susan is such a welcoming and attentive host. Met us at the front of her property, and lead us to our camp site. She provided dry wood and water at the site, and helped us get situated. We saw the most beautiful double rainbow that overlooked the most amazing view! Her horse Blue came to visit us as well as her pony. We took walks around her farm land while drinking our morning coffee, and sat down by her pond with the coolest adirondack chairs that overlooked her barn. Peace is what we experienced there from the moment we pulled in, until the moment we left. We are so grateful, and will defiantly be coming back again!

1 night at Shambala at Mystic Hollow

We had such a wonderful stay at this spot! Everything about it felt welcoming and peaceful. Her dog, Little Bear, completely stole our hearts. The site was incredibly relaxing. We spent hours just sitting beside the water listening to it trickle by. You can tell a lot of care and intention goes into making this a special place for all.

Weekend Trip to Fairie Tale Farm

We had an excellent stay here at Vista Ridge. Large, shady site that’s well spaced from other campsites. You do feel you have your own private space to yourself. The porta potty is a close walk away and was clean and well maintained. You’ve got an excellent view of the farm and the hillsides beyond and we got to see a good sunset one night. Susan was easy to communicate with and very welcoming. The farm has a decent amount of campsites you can reserve, all look to be well spaced out. We’d definitely recommend this for anyone looking to camp in the region! Ricketts Glen is only about a 15 min drive away.

We spent the night at Jennifer's site, and it was awesome! The thought she has put into the camper's experience is apparent, as she has gone above and beyond at setting up a space where people can disconnect, relax, and enjoy each other's presence.

1 night at Pine Valley Alpacas

Very nice seclusion in a beautiful part of Pennsylvania! The nearby creek offered nice music-to-sleep-by, slept in & awoke feeling refreshed! The composting toilet worked well & was very clean. In addition to the very friendly alpacas, we caught a glimpse of a redwing blackbird & a pileated woodpecker; unsure if they were on the payroll, but the campsite was nice & private and offered lots of shade. Highly recommend!

Absolutely LOVED this place. Susan was amazing and the campsite was immaculate. Very secluded, had lots of area, was near tons of trails and parks, and was very comfortable. Susan even drove firewood up to our campsite when we ran out! I definitely would recommend a 4WD vehicle though (when it rains). Overall, it is one of the best campsites we have stayed at for a VERY long time!

It is private and has the same set up as site one. Park your car on top of hill and walk on down. It is a lovely spot. Walk is about 50 yards down a steep hill. Pack accordingly. Campsite #3 (High Site) Site 3 is above the river and looks over Hawk Mountain and the farm. It is private with beautiful views. Unreal full moon gazing............. Sunrise, Sunset, Moon rise, Bird watching, all very visible from this site. Car accessible, no walking to campsite required. At all sites, different seasons bring different activities. Spring: Kayaking, fishing and hiking. Summer: hiking, fishing in the pond, cooling off in the swim hole. Fall: raptor watching, hiking, biking plus fishing, (license required), in the Little Schuylkill. The nights are dark with star lit skies. We have a 1.5 acre bass pond on the farm for fishing, so bring your rod. Big bass in there!! Your camp site is surrounded by woods and forest, fields and trees. You are a two hour drive from center city Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from down town New York City. One hour from Harrisburg. What to do here? Plenty! Hiking! Shambala at Mystic Hollow

Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek, which is a stream, is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. Site are a 5 minute walk from main house. The land is flat for walking to the camping area. A slight bit bumpy in a small area. I can manage just fine in flip flops but I did want to provide the information if anyone would be using a wheelchair. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. Tables can be provided. Just let us know ahead of time. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time if you want to check in or out earlier or later. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby would be Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife in the area. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, horses, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. There is a good chance of being visited by racoons at night if your food isn't stored away properly. Also, the deer may walk past in the middle of the night as well. We do also get wild turkey during different times of the year. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future. Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions. 420 friendly. LGBTQ friendly. If you are coming from out of state: Pennsylvania has a quarantine order for untreated firewood entering the state to protect its forests from invasive species. Firewood must be kiln dried, heat treated, fumigated, or USDA certified to enter the state. However, commercially imported wood that has been heat-treated according to USDA regulations typically doesn't fall under these bans.

From 1939-2020 our family ran a summer sleep-away camp for children on the farm, with an emphasis on caring for each other and the land. Located in a small valley at 1400 feet of elevation, our fields and woods are home to a broad diversity of native plants and animals. Our family has been caring for this land since 1926, but before European colonization it was home to the Lenape people from whom it was forcibly taken. Acknowledging this fact and working to expand awareness of Indigenous cultures and their rights is important to us. While at the farm, besides the amenities listed in each listing, you are welcome to hike or walk around and explore our farm which has many acres of woodland, creeks, springs, a pond, and open fields. A hot day is a great time for a walk along - or in - the creek. A rainy day brings out the Red Efts - beautiful orange newts that are all over the woods when you know where to look. We're always glad to point you in the right direction for a nice walk or a longer hike. You may be able to tag along collecting eggs from the hens or feeding some of the other animals we may have.

Forks Farm Market has been providing the community with locally produced foods every 2nd and 4th Saturday, May - December, for thirty years and has established itself as the area's first and only on-farm, producer-only farm market offering the local community chemical-free, pasture-raised meats, dairy, and farmstead cheese in addition to a wide variety of locally produced foods, fiber, and crafts from over twenty vendors. The campground is easily accessed from the Bloomsburg exit of Interstate 80, ten miles north on SR 487, and 1.5 miles east of Forks on Winding Road. The nearest major town is Bloomsburg, 10 miles to the south, and both Philadelphia and New York City are within a 3-hour drive.
