This cabin has been in my family for over 40 years, and we love to share it's charm with the world! Sleep like a log in our one-room charming cabin on a small private lake lot with non-motor boats only. Little Elk Lake is 43 acres. Queen bed with linens provided, plus 2 adult cots with pads and sleeping bags. Rowboat plus 1 youth kayak, two adult kayaks and a canoe are available for your use, and we have life jackets in many sizes. We are sorry but the pontoon boat cannot be used by guests. The fishing is EXCELLENT and bring your binoculars - BALD EAGLES frequent the lake! We want you to have so much FUN during your visit, but we are not a party spot. The lake is rural and quiet, and so we must request low noise levels after 10 pm in order to keep our neighborhood HAPPY! :) We welcome everyone, including the LGBQT community and folks from all ethnicities. You'll feel like you are coming home to a safe haven and all guests will be treated with kindness and respect here at Sunset Shore! Don't waste one moment of lake time! GROCERY, PHARMACY and EVEN HOMEGOODS delivery is available. Our local large grocery chain Price Chopper, Rite Aid and Family Dollar all deliver to the cabin. The name of the app is INSTACART. We had a group not understand this so I want to make sure it is clear. Firewood is for sale here for CASH! Please bring CASH with you. Sixty acres of magical trees, a one acre pond, and a three acre field. From the road there is a two hundred foot elevation gain to the top of the hill. Along the way are several hundred feet of rock ledges, caves, and critters. Most of the land is sloping, but the hilltop is flat as a table, with prehistoric-looking ferns under a dense canopy of mature trees. The campsites are ultra secluded- about a quarter mile apart from each other. All sites include a fire pit, cooking grate, picnic table, and sites 2&3 have platforms. Camp ONE: is on the top of the hill, and a small car can be driven to within 150 feet of it. It is pretty flat, and surrounded by blackberry bushes, ferns, and trees. Camp TWO: is on a bluff overlooking a picturesque swamp, filled with hemlock trees and ferns. This site can not be driven to with anything less than a high clearance SUV (ie- jeep wrangler), so I consider it a hike in site. It is under a ten minute walk from the pond and parking lot, but the view and feel is worth it. (It has been brought to our attention that there is occasionally a group riding atvs on a neighboring property that are audible from this site. We have no control over what time it happens, so please keep this in mind) Camp THREE: is accessible with a four wheel drive vehicle, something at least as high as an SUV. It is the closest to the house and pond, but still far enough to feel secluded and completely private. If you choose to walk there, it’s only a couple minutes from the parking area. Throughout the property, there are many quiet places to hang out, flat spots to do yoga, trails to explore, and fishing and swimming in the beautiful pond. From 1939-2020 our family ran a summer sleep-away camp for children on the farm, with an emphasis on caring for each other and the land. Located in a small valley at 1400 feet of elevation, our fields and woods are home to a broad diversity of native plants and animals. Our family has been caring for this land since 1926, but before European colonization it was home to the Lenape people from whom it was forcibly taken. Acknowledging this fact and working to expand awareness of Indigenous cultures and their rights is important to us. While at the farm, besides the amenities listed in each listing, you are welcome to hike or walk around and explore our farm which has many acres of woodland, creeks, springs, a pond, and open fields. A hot day is a great time for a walk along - or in - the creek. A rainy day brings out the Red Efts - beautiful orange newts that are all over the woods when you know where to look. The Dam House at Beaver Pound is a hidden gem on Hipcamp that promises an unforgettable outdoor experience. Our group had the privilege of being the first to rent this stunning campsite, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Set amidst heavily wooded areas, the campsite is a nature lover’s paradise. The nearby pond offers breathtaking views during the day and a night, creating a tranquil ambiance that’s hard to find elsewhere. Wildlife enthusiasts will be thrilled to spot hawks soaring overhead and beavers busily working around the pond. On top of that, the site’s convenient location near a charming town and picturesque lake means you’ll have plenty of amenities within easy reach. One of the standout features of our stay was the warm hospitality of the site manager, Brendan. His vast knowledge of the area and its points of interest made our trip all the more enriching. We opted to rent the overland trailer, and it proved to be a game-changer. The hot shower, electric fridge, propane gas stove, and electric battery added a level of convenience that’s rare in most camping experiences. A quick tip for future visitors: make sure everyone in your group is familiar with using a composting toilet with a separett. Additionally, the optional kayaks and pond-side fire pit are fantastic additions that you shouldn’t miss out on. In conclusion, our stay at The Dam House at Beaver Pound was nothing short of amazing. We’re already planning our next visit and can’t wait to return to this slice

The perfect quick getaway for us. Having a beautiful site on the water was key, and we even decided to stay another night after rolling in. Felt private (little paths you can walk along from the site,) and as adults with a dog, the river access was perfect (handy rope attached to the tree at our river access point.) Sure, there's road sounds, but didn't bother us for the location. The BBQ, firepit, river view table, water, and utensils/pans etc were a bonus. Would definitely visit again.

I had the perfect weekend at Butternut Grove. We stayed at site 35 which is in the grove section. There is the perfect amount of tree coverage for shade and it still gives that woodsy feel. You’re right by the river and so you can hear the noises at night which was awesome. We enjoyed lounging by the river during the day, watching the fly fishers and playing in the water. We met the owner, Paul, as well as his kids and the owners have gotta be the best part of the campground. They helped us out a ton getting settled, brought us fire wood, and offered to have us for dinner along with the other campers. Overall 10/10 experience. Can’t wait to come back

We loved Beaverwood Farm ! The hosts Paul & Marilyn are such warm wonderful people whom made us feel comfortable and welcome. The farm animals made us laugh and they are so sweet. We fed them some treats (veggies and corn) and they were our best friends. There were a lot of other people which was great because we did not feel alone. We are beginner campers so this is a great place to start. I highly recommend this place because we had a great time. It is very clean and well maintained. The G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) of the goats :-)

Absolutely incredible place. Paul and Marilyn are extremely cool, chill, and kind. Paul pulls out all the stops to make sure you are getting plenty of animal time. He let us hold baby goats and baby chickens! There were some annoying campers running a generator all day/night but another camper complained and Paul rode over on his ATV to firmly but kindly shut it down which we all appreciated. We will absolutely be coming back as long as we can!

I toyed with the idea of making this a fan letter to Paul and Marilyn, but decided against it… Beaverwood is a can’t-miss campsite in the heart of the Catskills with the amazing Paul and Marilyn who are the consummate hosts. My partner and I arrived on Thursday and they were polite, helpful and enthusiastic about us joining them for the long weekend. We knew all about the different animals, the rules of the site and best of all we knew all we needed to know to feel comfortably at home for the duration of our stay. Camping in these sorts of grounds is a pleasure and we had everything we needed. We even had Paul give us a quick tow out of the mud on day 1! 10/10 would recommend and 10/10 will be back!

First let me say how lovely Paul and Marilyn are- they have enviable energy levels which helps them maintain jovial attitudes while juggling many reservations, folks coming and going, and (no exaggeration) over 100 farm animals! The animals are FUN and there were tons of babies! The property is a perfect example of turning coal into a diamond. Yes, it’s imperfect due to activities and rubble from days gone by, but the views are stunning, the individual campsites are well cared for and the animals help to make lasting memories. A note for the guys: be prepared for a little frisky business if their pig “Princess Peach” is in heat! lol She’s gotta be all of 3/400 pounds and she definitely goes after what she wants. It was a hoot (for the women laughing nearby, unsure how to help)! 😂

Great stay! Crazy unique experience with the animals. I will say - the animals will get involved with your site. A cow walked into our tent and ripped it… but I guess that is to be expected! Overall, it was very positive. We loved the host and had a great time using the canoes and playing with the animals.

Please bear with us if you visit! We have had fallen tree damage from high winds and heavy rains on the property! It has not affected any of the buildings, but the swing set suffered damage and we are in the process of replacing it and cleaning up logs and branches. Thank you. Secluded, off grid getaway! The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience. We are near the historic town of Jim Thorpe, Whitewater Rafting Adventures, Hickory Run State Park, Lehigh Gorge State Park, Tuscarora State Park, and more. ***PLEASE READ BELOW AND READ EACH SITE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING*** - Our tent sites are rustic with NO electric or running water. Cabins have electric, but no indoor plumbing. Porta-Johns are available throughout the grounds. (Some sites are closer to port-a-johns than others.) We do not provide potable water or showers for tent campers but we allow responsible use of the stream for cleaning. Cabins have a rustic outdoor shower available May-October. Please inquire for camper vans and pop ups. - FIREWOOD: Due to the threat of invasive pests, we do not allow firewood to be transported onto the grounds. We have firewood for sale for $7 per crate. You can pick and crate your wood at the wood pile on the grounds at your convenience. This campsite is nestled in the deep woods of a 120 acre farm that offers beautiful views coming and going. After being allowed to use the restroom at the stone farmhouse, you will then go rustic and start your 3/4 - 1 mile hike in (approximately 20 minutes to the campsite) past the fields and pond down the path into the woods. The trail is remote and you will instantly be able to leave the sights and sounds of civilization behind you and breath the clean forest air. Wear good hiking shoes because portions of the hike are uneven and rocky. This site is best for experienced campers who know how to pack light with just the essentials as there is no tractor service to this campsite. When you arrive at the campsite, you will be within 20 feet of a year round stream with brook trout and in a hundred foot tall hemlock canopy nestled between two brook meadows. A 9,000 acre forested preserve abuts our property so you will be able to completely relax, bird watch, enjoy the wildlife, or fish for a brook trout breakfast without hearing the sounds of anyone but yourselves. The campsite has a stone fire pit, split log benches for seating, a canvas privacy blind around a stand of trees where the composting toilet resides, and a food bag lift to attach your food and trash bags to about 100 yards from the campsite. Unlimited Split firewood is free next to where you will park that you can take down to the site. All trash needs to be carted out with you. We can't accept mixed trash as it will attract animals that will knock over the trashcans and make a mess. No food goes in our personal trashcans as we have learned this the hard way. There are a variety of bars and restaurants located in the small town of Rock Hill, as well as our local Farmer's Market every Saturday only during the summer months. The cabin is a short trip away from the local grocery store, a five minute drive to Resorts World Casino and Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park. A twenty-five minute drive to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (sight of the 1969 Woodstock Festival). OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE: Please respect our non-smoking policy. There is absolutely NO smoking of any kind allowed in the cabin. A $200 charge will be applied if you do smoke inside to cover the additional cleaning costs. No Drugs or illegal activity. No Smoking or vaping. No incense or candles. We always like our guests to know ahead of time that there is mild to moderate vehicle and foot traffic near the hiking trails during the day. As this location has become more and more popular, the individuals who come to hike, bike, fish, hunt, etc. are required to parallel park their cars on the opposite side of the road. However, our property is private and clearly posted, and may only be used by our guests. The cell phone service is very weak when you first arrive at the cabin however, once you are connected to the WiFi you should have capability to call and text. A marked trail to the site with trail markers for easy direction. This tiny house has solar powered WIFI and lights. This is not an insulated structure and during the winter months there is no running water. The outhouse is located about 50 feet from the tiny house. The space The Tiny House is located in a very private and remote location that sits next to thousands of acres of state land with beautiful hiking trails and access to the Neversink River. Guest access Private and easy parking with short hike down hill to the site if you are unable to drive directly to the site (NOTE: During the winter months all guests must park in the designated parking spot and hike to the site. You cannot drive as a result of the unpredictable weather) While the hike is short, some parts are steep, so please walk slowly and take your time. Driving to the site can only be done during the spring and summer months and requires a high clearance Truck, Jeep or SUV with all wheel drive or 4-Wheel Drive ONLY. Keypad on the front door for easy entry. Other details to note Unless you have an all wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle, Please DO NOT drive or attempt to drive to the tiny house site. IF you decide to drive an all wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle, it is at your own risk and the owners are not responsible for any damages. (NOTE: During the winter months all guests must park in the designated parking spot and hike to the site. You cannot drive as a result of the unpredictable weather) Please keep in mind the WIFI and lights are solar powered, therefore we cannot always guarantee its consistency. Please also note this site is off grid with a rain-catch water system, therefore we cannot guarantee there will always be running water. NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT DRINK THIS WATER. The outdoor shower has been updated with a hot water rain catch system. Please be conscious of your water usage, as the water for the shower is collected via a gutter system. If you run out of water in the shower you will need to wait for the next rainfall for it to collect and build back up. During the late fall and winter months, this site will be open to winter campers who come prepared with the necessities and truly know how to winter camp. There will be no running water during this time and the solar will not work as well as it does during the summer months. We recommend not using the electric during the daytime hours, as this helps conserve power for when you will need to use it at night. We provide the following linens: fitted sheet for the full size bed in the loft, 4 sleeping bags, and 4 pillows. Anything additional must be brought by the guest.

During our inaugural Memorial Day Weekend, I welcomed visitors from behind a makeshift desk crafted from a door resting on two saw horses, perched on a milk crate. It’s incredible to reflect on how far we’ve come, and we remain dedicated to providing our guests with the best facilities possible. The heart of our campground lies in its family-oriented atmosphere. Our family has played an essential role in this journey, offering invaluable support and assistance over the years. Our seasonal guests have become an extended family, enriching our community with their presence.
