This place is phenomenal. You can see that the owners really care, everything is so nicely made in clean like I really upgraded Hotel. The hot tub took me about six hours to get my desired temperature. Part of it was because I didn’t know. I have to close the door while it was burning. But after all, it was well worth the work! I have noticed over the years there are two types of places, one, is where the owner wants to make money and have no choice, but to serve so he can collect from his guest money. Two, an owner that wants to serve his guest, but has no choice and have to charge money in order to stay open and be able to serve more people The owners from this place are from the second category, they want to give and serve their guest. I can confidently say this place is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed and at ease. The retreat is just a quick 2-minute walk from the car, making it super convenient yet wonderfully secluded, offering the perfect blend of accessibility and privacy. The star gazing at night was nothing short of spectacular—we spent hours marveling at the clear, vibrant sky and even captured some amazing photos that we'll cherish forever. The retreat was well-stocked with plenty of firewood, keeping us cozy and warm, and the thoughtful touch of fresh filtered water made our stay even more comfortable. Everything about Hillside Retreat was perfect—a true haven for relaxation and connection with nature. We can’t wait to return to this incredible spot! I booked our stay on Hipcamp. Nowhere on the site did it say you could not drive up to your campsite. Ferncrest’s own site says that but it was not on Hipcamp that I saw. That really was something that I was extremely disappointed in. The whole purpose of renting there was so that we wouldn’t need to unload all of our gear and reload it back up. We wanted to leave our camping gear in our truck and pull things out as needed. Although there was a driveway at the campsite and a perfectly good circle road around the campsite, Ferncrest had it blocked off and we had to bring all of our gear down to it with a wagon. We chose this to save ourselves from all of the camping hassles. So I personally probably would not come back. With that said … Ferncrest was AMAZING in every other aspect!! I would HIGHLY recommend it. The tent itself was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The view was exquisite!! The beds made us all want to stay in them. The owners were very thoughtful of the needs of their guests.

We had a great time camping at Lydia and Robert’s Hillside Retreat! The spot was isolated with a beautiful view and is great for stargazing if the weather cooperates, which it did. It was very scenic and a great spot to bring your dog for off-leash playing. They provided all the necessary supplies and more, such as cooking supplies, tent and bed, we just had to bring our own linens. The site overlooked a meadow and was easy to get to, just be aware you have to walk up a hill to get there, and Lydia and Robert offered their help to carry our things. It’s a great spot for romantic getaways, so much so that my fiancé proposed to me while we were there!! We will be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Perfect Getaway! Roscoe Campground is hands down one of the best campgrounds we’ve ever stayed at! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome — they’re incredibly friendly and helpful. You can tell they truly care about the experience of their guests. The campground itself is spacious, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. Everything was spotless, from the campsites to the facilities. There’s plenty of room to spread out, relax, and enjoy the outdoors without feeling crowded. And the river? Absolutely amazing. Whether you’re fishing, floating, or just sitting by the water taking it all in, it’s the perfect touch of nature that makes this place extra special. We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, friendly, and scenic camping spot!

We were very pleasantly surprised with our stay at Hilltop Hall. All the photos online were an accurate representation of what was on site. The living space was extremely cozy and comfortable. What really sets this place apart was how well the place was stocked with equipment and items you would need. A lot of times when airbnbing, utensils and dishware may not even be available, but Hilltop Hall truly had everything we needed for our stay. Looking forward to booking another stay with them down the road.

The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience. Private and off-grid tiny home near the Neversink Unique Area hiking trails. This tiny house is approximately a tenth of a mile from guest parking. A marked trail to the site with trail markers for easy direction. This tiny house has solar powered WIFI and lights. This is not an insulated structure and during the winter months there is no running water. The outhouse is located about 50 feet from the tiny house. The Tiny House is located in a very private and remote location that sits next to thousands of acres of state land with beautiful hiking trails and access to the Neversink River. This campsite is nestled in the deep woods of a 120 acre farm that offers beautiful views coming and going. After being allowed to use the restroom at the stone farmhouse, you will then go rustic and start your 3/4 - 1 mile hike in (approximately 20 minutes to the campsite) past the fields and pond down the path into the woods. The trail is remote and you will instantly be able to leave the sights and sounds of civilization behind you and breath the clean forest air. Wear good hiking shoes because portions of the hike are uneven and rocky. This site is best for experienced campers who know how to pack light with just the essentials as there is no tractor service to this campsite. When you arrive at the campsite, you will be within 20 feet of a year round stream with brook trout and in a hundred foot tall hemlock canopy nestled between two brook meadows. A 9,000 acre forested preserve abuts our property so you will be able to completely relax, bird watch, enjoy the wildlife, or fish for a brook trout breakfast without hearing the sounds of anyone but yourselves. The campsite has a stone fire pit, split log benches for seating, a canvas privacy blind around a stand of trees where the composting toilet resides, and a food bag lift to attach your food and trash bags to about 100 yards from the campsite. Unlimited Split firewood is free next to where you will park that you can take down to the site. All trash needs to be carted out with you. We can't accept mixed trash as it will attract animals that will knock over the trashcans and make a mess. No food goes in our personal trashcans as we have learned this the hard way. Always working on improvements! My second glamping site "The Medieval Encampment", is available for booking starting April 1st of 2025. I will have more pictures soon. In April of 2024, my long awaited 1st Glamping site was available for booking. It's been very popular! Please read the description carefully of the "Gypsy Rose Vardo", to see if it's the right fit for you. I also have 10 large camping sites available on our 33 acre property located in Northwest NJ. Sites 1 through 4 are on mowed, fairly level fields and are large enough for campers or RV's up to 30ft, or a couple of tents, and sites 5 and 6 are further back in the woods, available only for a few small tents, sites 7 through 10 are much further into the property and are only accessible with a high clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or you can park and hike your gear in. There are 3 compost toilet outhouses spread out through the property, so it's an easy walking distance from any site. Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear, coyote or raccoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. There are two reservoirs within a 20-minute drive for canoeing or kayaking. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten-minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

There are a variety of bars and restaurants located in the small town of Rock Hill, as well as our local Farmer's Market every Saturday only during the summer months. The cabin is a short trip away from the local grocery store, a five minute drive to Resorts World Casino and Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park. A twenty-five minute drive to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (sight of the 1969 Woodstock Festival). OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE: Please respect our non-smoking policy. There is absolutely NO smoking of any kind allowed in the cabin. A $200 charge will be applied if you do smoke inside to cover the additional cleaning costs. No Drugs or illegal activity. No Smoking or vaping. No incense or candles. We always like our guests to know ahead of time that there is mild to moderate vehicle and foot traffic near the hiking trails during the day. As this location has become more and more popular, the individuals who come to hike, bike, fish, hunt, etc. are required to parallel park their cars on the opposite side of the road. However, our property is private and clearly posted, and may only be used by our guests. The cell phone service is very weak when you first arrive at the cabin however, once you are connected to the WiFi you should have capability to call and text.
