I've stayed here twice now. Jennifer has a private, quiet spot in the West Tent. Spots like this are perfect for me in that i carry a tent with me all the time but when driving a 2 day transit, it's nice to have one up already. I haven't used the East Tent but this faces west for the a ice sunset over the field.

Weekend Trip to Sycamore Island

So great! The campsite is large enough for two two-person tents, with a fire ring and picnic table. There's plenty of fallen wood around the island to gather for a fire - bring a hatchet or ax to chop it to size. If you canoe/kayak over, be sure to tie up; the river rose 3 feet overnight due to a downpour two nights earlier, and if my partner hadn't secured the canoes, they would have been long gone.

The spot was beautiful, & I loved the animals. The view from the meadow was exceptional, & we could see three states from where we were. It rained, so there was a small challenge getting up to the spot, but we backed in. It was fine from there. Chelsea is so friendly & accommodating. She’s doing good things for kids on her farm!

May I start off by saying loved it and very peaceful ,quiet & was able to do everything I wanted to with my family. Great location if you love water side. The site was amazing, we fished and had a fire at our site every day / night. The management team and workers at Blue Canoe are top notch. The bike trail and kayaking all at your figertips is just awesome.. We bought a site there. That's how much we loved it!

We had a great time at the cabin! Gerald was such a wonderful host, it was a last minute kind of trip and he was so accommodating. All of the animals on the farm were so friendly and patient with my 4 year old son and 2 wild dogs. It was such a delight watching my son and bigger dog interact with the horses and Petunia the pig. My dog was off on his own hanging out with the horses and goats half the trip, I don’t think he’s ever had so much fun. He slept for about 24 hours after we got home lol. Gerald’s care and training of the animals is amazing. My 4 year old was riding a horse all in his own, my girlfriend got to ride an award winning shire, and I enjoyed the company of a kind and gentle pony :) . We highly recommend Gerry and his property and will be returning soon. Don’t forget to add some farm fresh eggs to your trip!

We loved tent camping here. Watching the welcome video was super helpful. The creek sight truly is amazing because you can hear the creek the whole time. We had some rainy weather come in, but down at the creek there wasn’t much wind. The other campsites are a good distance away. The bathroom/shower is warm which was great in the cold weather we had while camping.

Our family had a great time at the pond site at Muddy Myst. The amenities were perfect and exactly as described. The property was clean and beautiful. Liam has done a great job at making sure his guests are taken care of, while also allowing for privacy and relaxation.

I have been camping here a lot, Solo camping and with friends. I feel safe solo camping in here, when you get in the site it’s gated and very private. I spoke to Liam’s dad a little bit and seems a great guy. Pond site or creek site both I felt safe. Clean surroundings and you feel remotely comfortable. And yes I will recommend this site.

1 night at All Ferns Most of the Time

Had an amazing time at Jim's property. A neighbor was playing music till 3am but I didn't mind since I was taking in the lunar eclipse. Still felt very secluded even without all the foliage filled in. Also enjoyed a small hike down to the creek which is just a short distance away. I will definitely return as often as I can! Thank you Jim!

I enjoyed my stay here, unfortunately I just chose to camp late February and Mother Nature had other plans for me haha. I will certainly be back when the warmer weather rolls around. The common area was well kept and had a lot of personality, you can tell this place is loved. Excited for my next visit!

Sunnyday's Forest

Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods.Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away. Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter. The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away. It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs. We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables.. There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents. There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin, but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures. The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk! If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover.

The rich history of Burnhead Grazings is enveloped in a love for God's creation. Dr. Gib and Emmy Lou McLaughlin purchased Burnhead, which is Gaelic for the head of the stream, from William H. Stevens. The once pasture for Hilltop Dairy's cows became a pasture for sheep. Gib and Emmy had been in search of land for years after getting their first border collie and falling in love with the Shepherd lifestyle. Gib trained dozens of border collies to work the sheep and did hundreds of demonstrations highlighting the herding abilities of the collie across the country. Their love for Scotland and the border collie took them Scotland on many occasions. Burnhead Grazings is a snapshot of Scotland, "in bye" or close to, the beautiful college town of Indiana, PA. Less than two miles from two hotels, three miles from downtown, and within minutes from Amish country, it is amazing that this respite still exists so close to civilization. Gib and Emmy's daughter, Moire McLaughlin Bridges and her husband Randy have endeavored to bring the sheep back to Burnhead Grazings and to continue the family tradition as well as to share in the experience. You can listen to an interview on The Christian Witness Program on this page for some history about Moire and Randy in Tennessee where they were residing before coming to Indiana. They are producing lamb, wool for spinning and felting, and hay and are opening up the farm for small events such as weddings or family reunions. Moire is also the author and illustrator of a children's book available for sale on iBooks called Sissy & The King. In November of 2014, with the help of Hilltop Baptist Church and many others, they began hosting an event, LIFE Nativity, the weekend before Thanksgiving, which benefits Life-Way Pregnancy Center. Moire is also a fine artist and gives classes on wool felting. Ask about signing up for a class or book a private felting party.

River Hills Above the Allegheny

Located just outside of Parker, PA and 25 minutes from I-80, our campsite is very accessible, yet still very remote. With 4 campsites on 75 acres, guests have ample privacy and space, with the freedom to roam this posted property that has no homes on it. Perched high above the Allegheny there are several spots to take in the wonderful views. There is also a waterfall with a 3’ deep pool below it. Great for splashing with kids or dogs, guests love exploring the creek bottom and making new discoveries. The more curious guests sometimes find the ruins of the original homestead, chimney and spring house that sit upstream. The property is teeming with wildlife. Birds and tree frogs will be the soundtrack of your visit, and often deer will be seen nosing along the outskirts of your site in the mornings and evenings. Turkey, bald eagles and even bear are occasionally spotted, so be prepared to secure your food and trash at night. For those coming to disconnect, you have found the right place. But if cell service is needed, you will have enough to get texts out and depending what site you booked, calls and internet as well. All Ferns Most of the Time

This spot is best for a van camp location but plenty of space for tents and hammocks. You'll find a drive-up deck if you wish to park there. Firewood is available providing you use downfalls as kindling in the stone fire pit. A 8x20' deck and picnic table are 20 feet from the fire for stargazing. When the ferns are full grown they are 3 feet tall and everywhere. A 10 minute walk takes you through a dense pine forest with large rock formations and a nice creek with many gurgling fall areas. If there looks like a cave amongst the large rocks, then it probably is a bear den. There is a lot to do near by. Some note worthy locations : Cranberry Glade Lake (good for kayaking or fishing), Ohiopyle, 7 Springs, Fallingwater, Living Treasures, Caddie Shak, and Hidden Valley are all about 25 minutes away. This property also borders Laurel Ridge State Park. There is a Dollar General and a gas station about 15 minutes away for convenience needs.

A bit Off Road. 3 has privacy with Antique Trailer but 4 is wide open. Fire ring at all of them/with wood. Horse stalls/guided trails available for the campers bringing their own horses. If advanced notice, an hour Lesson or Ride can be scheduled. Our animals are friendly and love attention. Dogs welcome but need a leash. Our Family run Farm is willing to accommodate your needs.
