Just renovated for winter camping! Completely sealed up and draft free. Still a very primitive site, but the interior now keeps in the warmth from the fireplace. A set of bunk beds and a4 seat table as well as some could makes it work for up to 6 people. Plenty of tent area around of you have a bigger group! Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods. Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking, frisbee course and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away. Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter. The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away. It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs. We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables.. There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents. There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin, but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures. The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk! If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover.

Learn more about this land: This wooded area is 5 miles away from the Ohiopyle State Park whitewater launch area and GAP bike trail. We are less than 9 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Classic Fallingwater and about 8 miles from Kentuck Knob one of the last resident homes he designed (both are open for tours). Fort Necessity National Battlefield is 5 miles away. There are numerous native trout streams in the area. Youghiogheny Reservoir is 7 miles away for fishing, boat rentals, and water-sports. The Fern House is the primary camp cabin on the property. Although if someone would want to park a "self contained" camper or small RV on the property we would permit the unit to occupy the area in front of the driveway just pass the entrance gate. It is not within the ferns and is next to the road. There is an electrical outlet available at this small RV or van camper site. We are "nice pet" friendly. Dogs should not be left in the cabin alone. We have a mountain spring (when the spring is running) up the trail road (450 feet away). The ferns will normally be in full glory by the end of May to mid September and are amazing, covering the forest floor. Deer, bear, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, squirrels and many woodland birds abound the property especially owls. A picnic table, fire ring and firewood is available on the property. Free WiFi on the property as long as the plant life is not too thick! There is a mile hiking loop right on the property and many challenging trails in the area, including the starting point for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. No smoking is permitted in the cabin. We had a wonderful stay at this Hipcamp A-frame site—it's a peaceful, secluded property surrounded by trees and beautiful mountain views, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The host was very thoughtful and made sure we had everything we needed, including wood and fire starters so we didn’t have to run to the store. It’s very private, so you truly get the whole place to yourself. We also brought our dog, and he absolutely loved it. Overall, a great experience—we’d definitely come back!

the Aframe is so cute and well-equipped with solar lights and tiny wood stove. The deck and yard are beautiful. I wish I'd had more time to enjoy. I hurt my back the night I arrived and could barely walk the next day. I ended up packing up and driving 3 hours home. Jim and Tracy were so understanding and even refunded my 2nd night. I hope to stay in the future

I stayed in the cabin at DLR Mustang Ranch for a weekend, and it was exactly what I needed. I came to catch up on homework for my doctoral program and to have some quiet space to recover after the loss of my mother. It gave me such a peaceful, safe, and comfortable place to be alone, focus, and heal. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe the entire time, and that meant so much to me. My kids and I had so much fun!! Gerry was very nice and helpful!! We loved camping and horse riding!! My 6 year old got to ride a horse for the first time! Gerry explained all about the horses and my kids got to brush them and clean their hooves. Prada, Sky and Jackie are beautiful horses!! Pigonia the pig was adorable!! This little A-frame cabin was an absolute gem. From the moment we walked up the trail and saw the adorable rounded door, I knew we had found something special. The setting is incredibly peaceful, with beautiful views of the surrounding woods and the constant, relaxing sound of the creek flowing nearby. Birds were chirping throughout the day, and we even spotted deer tracks along the path to the cabin, which added to the sense of being immersed in nature. Inside, the cabin was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully organized when we arrived. It’s a compact space, but perfectly laid out with plenty of room for two people to relax comfortably. The solar-powered amenities all worked great, and the fan was especially helpful for keeping the air moving. When the temperature dropped at night, the small wood stove made the cabin warm and perfectly comfortable. Watching the fire glow through the stove window while the quiet of the forest settled around us made for a really special evening. It was also reassuring to see that the host had placed emergency equipment and safety items throughout the cabin. Everything felt well thought out and cared for. Overall, this place is charming, peaceful, and exactly the kind of retreat you hope for when escaping into nature. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy stay surrounded by the sounds of water and wildlife, this cabin is a wonderful choice.

This was such a cozy little camping spot. I wanted to have just one night of quiet, no work, no setting up, just go be in the woods for a night, and this was perfect. It was pouring when we arrived and laying and taking a nap in the cabin listening to the rain was lovely. The string lights outside were such a nice touch when we woke up from our nap and sat outside for the evening. We will definitely be back! I was so pleasantly surprised that there was some power in the cabin. This felt like glamping to me and it was everything I needed and more.

I loved camping at the tree house at Muddy Myst! The hosts were incredibly attentive to any questions we had during our stay and we were warm and cozy inside the cabin despite the chilly Temps outside. Our dog had the best time out of all 3 of us though! She was able to be off leash and run through the snow to her hearts content. We definitely will be back to make more memories here in the future 😊

Cabin was perfect! Kept us warm during a 13 degree night, animals were awesome for the kids and the outside fire pit was big enough to have a nice fire and to cook on… would definitely recommend
