Our beachin camp is located on the Longbeach, Washington Peninsula. It's a dry camp, for now. It's less than a half mile to the ocean. We have four sites available. Each site has a cute cinder block firepit. Its perfect for RV's or tent sites. As you turn onto the property you will be met with a gate. To identify the correct property you will see two small brick pillars at the entrance. Please be sure the keep the gate closed when not in use. Learn more about this land: It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond (please see below), but the Lewis river is close by with tons of recreational activities (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There are only two sites, far from each other. It is a rural property with some farms AND residential homes/Airbnbs along the river, so, be aware there are cars that drive through the one lane road. Town is not far (six miles) to get supplies and the Heisson convenience store is less than a mile away. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a quick trip out of town for a day or two or just a quick and safe stop in your travels. This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow to help for more privacy!!! Please, read each site description carefully! There is NO electricity or plumbing at the sites. I did install a BPA safe hose for water at the top of the hill for your use (I usually have it on but if not please feel free to message me and if I haven't responded within a half hour please feel free to knock on my door). Site 1 does have a camp toilet (composting bucket with seat and lid) because it is mostly a tent site (some small RVs and trailers can fit). Site 2 is for RVs (and tents with them) that already have a toilet so if you are a tent camper and want to book this site you will need to bring your own camp toilet. Dogs are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, they MUST have high recall. Please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using. *We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get in any given year). Currently, it is dry.

Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. There is only one campsite on this property, insuring privacy and solitude during your stay. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate. The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable. A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table. Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them. The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash. There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a covered picnic table (10' X 10' pop up) and chairs at the fire ring. Trash can provided. Please remove your trash. Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper (none is provided), fire starter (though our firewood is seasoned, dry and easy to ignite), headlamp, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel. There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles. When driving out, make sure gate is open so stopping, on the steepest part, isn't required to open it. The rules are listed below under During Your Trip by clicking on 'Host Rules'. By reserving this site the Booker, and all guests, agrees to abide by these rules. Cell coverage is nonexistent/weak, depending on carrier. There are only two sites, far from each other. It is a rural property with some farms AND residential homes/Airbnbs along the river, so, be aware there are cars that drive through the one lane road. Town is not far (six miles) to get supplies and the Heisson convenience store is less than a mile away. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a quick trip out of town for a day or two or just a quick and safe stop in your travels. This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow to help for more privacy!!! Please, read each site description carefully! There is NO electricity or plumbing at the sites. I did install a BPA safe hose for water at the top of the hill for your use (I usually have it on but if not please feel free to message me and if I haven't responded within a half hour please feel free to knock on my door). Site 1 does have a camp toilet (composting bucket with seat and lid) because it is mostly a tent site (some small RVs and trailers can fit). Site 2 is for RVs (and tents with them) that already have a toilet so if you are a tent camper and want to book this site you will need to bring your own camp toilet. Dogs are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, they MUST have high recall. Please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using. *We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get in any given year). Currently, it is dry.

Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. There is only one campsite on this property, insuring privacy and solitude during your stay. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate. The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable. A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table. Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them. The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash. There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a covered picnic table (10' X 10' pop up) and chairs at the fire ring. Trash can provided. Please remove your trash. Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper (none is provided), fire starter (though our firewood is seasoned, dry and easy to ignite), headlamp, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel. There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles. The little A-frame structure was perfect for my needs and stood up well to some pretty blustery weather on my first day. It takes a minute to locate the structure if you arrive in the dark and rain, as I did, but once I was oriented, all was well. Definitely recommend this instead of a tent if you're coming at a time of year when the weather is a bit unpredictable.

Our family had such a great time on the river. Even though we got some rain everyday we put our paddle boards in the water from the dock and played. The river is super peaceful and you get to see and hear lots of birds. We lucked out and had the whole place to ourselves even. Really nice to have the provided Adirondack chairs for around the campfire and watching the river too. Hosts were always very quick to respond and helpful. Road and property clean, well maintained and so was the port-o-potty on site. We even visited their horses to say hello for change of scene one afternoon. Mostly though we relaxed in the camp area and enjoyed the river. Will return for sure.

This was an absolutely wonderful place to camp with dogs. We had six dogs among three people and had such a wonderful time on this property! The dogs were safe and entertained and had plenty of space to run and explore and play. We were able to go and enjoy the visiting goats and the ducks and the chickens. Sarah and her partner were super wonderful and welcoming, and we had a great time renting some of the games they had available.

We had the best time at Summers Pleasant places! Three of us and six dogs, the mostly fenced in property and being away from the road created such a relaxing and stress-free few days. This was such a convenient location, close to convenience stores but having the whole back area of the property felt very private. We didn’t mind the farm animal noises or the other regular rural sounds. It didn’t bother us at all. Visiting with the chickens, and goats was definitely a highlight as well. The kitchen sink and counter space was incredibly helpful and well designed! It was so nice to not have to bring all of that extra gear. We loved being about to have a fire to cook over and cozy up to at night. Summer was very communicative and hospitable, answering all of our questions and accommodating us at her place on such short notice. We can’t wait to come back so the dogs can run free in the field again!

Weekend Trip to Fern Haus

The Stargazer Bell Tent was a lovely little spot! There was a creek that was easy to get to and just adorable. The campsite itself and the tent were nicely cared for and the people nearby at the other campsite weren't much of an issue (except for leaving the outhouse quite messy, causing us to clean up after them). The outhouse was surprisingly very nice, for an outhouse! You can tell a lot of love goes into this whole spot at Fern Haus. The only tiny complaint I have is that all of the furniture pieces (chairs at the table inside the tent, chairs by the firepit, the picnic table itself, and the chairs by the creek) were cheap, flimsy, unstable, and rickety. I did not feel safe sitting in anything supplied at the campsite. I was glad we brought our own camp chairs! But other than that, we had a great time! Comfy bed, too! Thanks for the adventure!
