Our property has been in business in one way or another for over 70 years. The stick built cabins are pre 1950's and no one really knows for sure how old they truly are. We are located on Fort Creek named after the creek that ran through Fort Klamath. Fort Creek is a beautiful 30' wide meandering creek that runs the length of the property north to south. We offer free use of our Old Town Canoes to paddle along it's extent and on up creek to a beaver damn. There is a fun hiking trail that runs over two bridges that span the creek, one covered and one floating. We also offer free catch and release fishing, there are Rainbow and Brown Trout in our waters. Fort Klamath is the birthplace and home of the US Army 1st Cavalry and our property is located on the the Forts Southeastern grounds. We are 9 miles from the southern border of the National Park and 23 miles from the southern Rim and Rim Village. Please note: We do allow pets in some of our sites for $10 per night. The cabin, in a Douglas Fir grove next to a seasonal creek, is on five forested acres and adjacent to BLM lands that are open for hiking. Outside is a fire pit with Adirondack chairs. Snow season starts in late fall and continues through March. Snow-parks, snowy woods, and meadows are nearby for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The roads to the cabin are plowed, but you'll need All Wheel Drive and tires that are safe for snow and ice. When you arrive, you'll be greeted and briefly introduced to some of the cabin's unique features, including attic stairs to the windowed sleeping loft. Downstairs is a sofa and a sofabed. The coffee cart kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, and microwave. Cook on an outdoor gas grill with a skillet and saucepan, and enjoy outdoor dining at a picnic table. Dishes, linens, and bedding are provided. WiFi speed is suitable for basic use. Summer recreational areas are nearby with miles of trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, are nearby. Howard Prairie Lake is across the road. NOTE: Please be aware that the mosquitos can be very bad here at times. Power has recently been going out more frequently due to the Pacific Power's "advanced safety settings". When the power is out the well pump is out, so there is no water. I am happy to provide buckets of river water for "flushing toilets" and pay for showers at the Klamoya Travel Center. I will not be giving refunds for a situation over which I have no control.

The land contains over a mile of trails with vistas, rock features, gnarly old "bonsai" oak trees, native plants and wildflowers. Your stay here directly supports ongoing conservation, watershed protection and fire mitigation work around the site, inquire if curious! Wildlife is prolific, mostly the friendly sort however visitors should be mindful to avoid unwelcome encounters, and any small children or pets kept under close watch. Your host can address questions or concerns. The property is not a park, playground, or big backyard, in fact probably not much like anyplace you've been...prepare for a novel experience! Come as a guest, not a customer, and find yourself at home in the wild. Activity and development on site are minimized to enhance natural habitat and ambience. Guests are advised to minimize disturbance of other occupants and lifeforms--it's fine to have fun and make some intermittent noise but disruptive or damaging behavior will be curtailed. The terrain is hilly but old logging roads provide nice hiking paths along with hundreds of animal paths for the able bodied. It is important to note that there is no poison oak or poison ivy around the area. It is a wonderful place to really explore. Just 15.4 miles east of Ashland on highway 66 then 9 miles on a slow dirt road. The drive is absolutely part of the experience, slow down and enjoy the views. As you drive up hwy 66 the views of the valley below are absolutely incredible, then you come to the dirt road. This is a very slow drive due to the condition of the road, it is part of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument and poorly maintained. **Important** The last section of road to get to this pristine and secluded forest location is a 9 mile dirt road with bumps, rocks, and a many washouts that bring you to a near stand still. 4 wheel drive is strongly recommended. Low clearance cars not recommended.

We have a pond that we are currently developing as a contributing recreational space. We are adding value at a very rapid pace and will be adding to the description as we do. If you book a month out don't be surprised if we have added an outdoor kitchen. Our real toilet outhouses have been added to 3 of our sites. So much cool stuff to do on a really magical property. We want to share so come enjoy. Not one of our campsites are in view or proximity to the others. Very private and lots of solitude. We (as hosts) can be as present or invisible as you like. Access to miles of trails and roads on BLM/Forest Service land for hiking, ATV's, motorcycles and off-roading. Please know to explore responsibly and at your own risk to preserve the land and keep yourself safe. You are also welcome to explore the property with the exception of one space on the upper portion where the owners reside. Views are beyond and nothing man made that is not on the property is visible from the property with the exception of one little red light on a US Cellular tower across the valley. We currently do not provide electricity at the sites but it is in the works. We have both available a short walk from the camp site in a common area. The power is limited to charging tech, some laptop time and the like, It wont run a hairdryer, etc. The WiFi is common use and has the ability to download and make WiFi calls. No guarantee of its suitability for any particular purpose, it will depend on usage in the moment. There is little to no reception up here so please plan ahead. US cellular has property and valley wide reception but that is the only one. Verizon can send texts and messages but is painfully slow or non-existent on internet. Also has voice calls occasionally but don't count on it. All the other cell services we do not know about. If you would like to spend a week or more here and would like a better power/internet solution then let us know. We can set it up for specific needs. Good if you wish to be in an amazing space to work remote or write. We are adding decks for lounging and views, a solar and wood heated community Jacuzzi for our guests and an outdoor shower tub as we speak and will add pictures as the projects are completed. We welcome ATV's, side by sides, 4x4's, snowmobiles and other such fun rec stuff but will require you to ride/drive on the bazillion acres of BLM land. It is on two sides of the property and a short distance. Riding on and off the property is limited to 10 mph to limit dust and noise and safety for everyone on the property. Please let us know if you plan on bringing any toys so we can notify the others on the property and send additional info, rules and such. There are several wineries on the road between us and Ashland. If you get drunk please arrange a ride or contact us for help. We support not driving while under the influence and will support you. we also have several responsible persons that live on the property and can be hired to drive/guide you on tours. We are in the process of creating wine tours of the valley which will include a driver. We have several lakes within 10-30 minutes for boating, and other water sports. Rock climbing is also available with the local sport crag within 25 minutes, castle crags is about 2 hrs away and several other small crags and bouldering around the valley 30 min.-1.5 hrs. Instruction and guiding are available if you or your group would like to learn. Equipment provided. Inquire. We can provide certain camping amenities if you need them. We have: $15 3-man tent $20 4-5 person tent $30 10-12 person tent $10 Double cot $5 Air mattress $5 Propane camp stove $5 Propane lantern $10 Propane heater $5 Sleeping pads $10 Double sleeping pad (Thermarest) $5 Sleeping bags. $45/day Small inverter/generator (quite and good for charging and running trailers etc) Fuel included. $? Climbing equipment if you are an experienced climber. (up to a full trad rack) All items are of good quality and can be rented. They can be either left at the site for you or set up when you arrive. Stoves, lights and heaters can also be provided with propane. If you are a Shaman and would like to discuss a space to do Journey's then please reach out, I would love to connect on what you would require. We would like an excuse to move that project to the top of the list. If you are a facilitator or train then the same as above. We would love to make arraignments for kids groups, camps, music festivals and workshops. Please be aware that there is little to no cell service up here if you get lost you will have to back track, find service and contact us and we can help you find us. If you'd like, tell us when you are turning onto Dead Indian Memorial Rd so we can expect you in 30 minutes, if you don't arrive we can go looking for you. Please just let us know and we can send directions. Google maps will take you right to the property, we've found that other navigation apps will take you the wrong way. Dead Indian Memorial Rd. Is a very good two lane rd. Some steep grades but qaulity pavement. Internet available for all sites at a centralish location. There are some small trout in the stream but only throwback size so far. Grow fishy’s grow!!

This place is a must stay. We had an amazing time camping here, even if it was so freaking cold the night we stayed. We utilized the free canoe and it was well worth it. The store has everything you need, is reasonably priced, and everyone that works there is so nice. Would recommend and if I'm back around Crater Lake I'll be back for sure.

Hideouts HipCamp Review I loved this place! Partly the location and partly the very nice people there. About the location: it's not for everyone,; it is a bit of a drive including 5 miles on a scrabble road that is fine. But you get out and away from everyone and into a beautiful spot with a great view. It’s also rather rustic that I like that soon they will have a bath house and it’ll be different. There’s an example of how they were nice to me: I am 72 years old and have some mobility issues. they were very cognizant of it and helped me get around a little bit. That was very sweet. I would come back every year if I could.

Beautiful spot! This Hipcamp has nice sites, a clean port-a-pottie, and a small, pretty garden to view. It is convenient to the freeway (and has freeway noise, which we didn’t hear with the windows closed). We were able to bike to town for our plays from here.

The tent and bathrooms were spotless - possibly the cleanest hip camp I’ve stayed at yet! Beautiful and convenient location, thoughtful camp set up, and easy check-in / check-out. Having hot water in the bathrooms was really nice; Tracy also provided a small propane heater for the tent and there’s a very warm comforter on the bed. Would have loved to stay longer!

Our campsite was spacious, there were swings and a playground area for our kids, and we loved canoeing in the beautiful creek. It was also a quick and pleasant drive from Crater Lake.

Wow! What a wonderful place, and maybe one of my favorite HipCamps I have stayed at. When you book here, you aren't just booking a place to sleep, it is a whole experience! The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I was really impressed by the property and its history, especially their work restoring wetlands and promoting forest diversity, and I learned a lot during my stay. I also especially loved meeting the goats and picking fresh produce from their U-Pick farm. They even offer goat hikes, which I didn’t get to try this time, but I’m already planning my next visit just for that! The bed was super comfortable, and the community kitchen was impressively well-equipped. They truly thought of everything—you just need to show up and enjoy!

Where to start...Wendy, Madison and Brooke were the sweetest! Wendy made sure to take care of a charge from Hipcamp that shouldn't have been charged for a reservation modification. The store and set up behind are awesome! The play structure could use some help, the swings are great, canoes are awesome, the store perfect! I would day if the owners added a hot tub or a few of them, with an outside shower and a 1hr color coded max time in at a time, the guests would be in heaven! They could even do beaver tours at night, we saw at least 9 at one time. Its a gem of a spot and hope to go back!!!
