Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing a user maintained hiking/mountain biking trail with 1.5, 3, 5 and 7 mile loop options.

The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, and one pull out couch. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and an un-attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin.

The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts.
The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few or many spiders, slugs and other bugs. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards.

It has a new futon (very comfortable), and a new bed (very comfortable). There is lots of parking and easy to get turned around. For the kids we have a foosball table and plenty of room for them to run around. The property is fenced and gated. We made a few upgrades; a new Berky water filter, the orbi tri-band mesh router (very high speeds) and a solar backup generator. Enjoy!

Our wood-fired sauna is free for you to use during a communal sauna already in session. A private sauna experience can be arranged for a fee. A hot shower is located inside of the sauna house. It is available 24/7 except during other campers private scheduled sauna times. A composting toilet is located near the parking area.
Our campground is small to promote a peaceful experience. We currently offer 2 sites, with a 3rd in progress. The Zem Bungalow is an off-grid glamping experience in a round, wooden, cozy bungalow overlooking the rhododendron garden (max 2), and the Foxglove platform, an 18 x 18 raised wooden platform ready for your tent, in a meadow next to a gently flowing creek (max 4). Four permanent residences also enjoy the beauty of Nelson Mountain Gardens. Each are separate and away from the campsites.
You are welcome to bring your well-behaved dog(s). Limit 2. Horses are welcome with prior approval. Please let us know when booking.
There is no cell phone service in our rural area. Limited wi-fi is available in parts of the rhododendron garden and at the barn for making necessary calls (no downloading, streaming or extended video calls). A phone charging station is located in the sauna house. Parking onsite is free.
Smoking or vaping anything is prohibited inside of any structure on the property. Smoking anything that requires fire is prohibited except for inside of your vehicle or on the paved road off of the property. Vaping is ok anywhere outside.

There are plenty of opportunities to hang out with the horses, help out with barn chores, help with garden/yard maintenance, enjoy the backyard fire pit (fire danger permitting) and s'mores or just sit back and watch the animals and enjoy a good book or a relaxed conversation.

Rustic off-grid forest sanctuary with wood-fired sauna. Home of 50 yr old historic rhododendron garden. Nestled in the coastal range of western Oregon lies our 50-acre property surrounded by a lush forest.
Explore the garden trails to find your bliss at a meditation station. Lead your own yoga session at the covered pavilion. Relax in a hammock. Walk our quiet country road or hike a strenuous private logging road for a view at the top.
The rhododendron and vegetable gardens span a few acres. There is an old orchard with a blueberry and raspberry patch, and you have a small homestead to explore. This includes horses, sheep, dogs, and ducks. The pasture, gardens, and forest are free for roaming with respect to the plants, animals, and human residents. Our wood-fired sauna is free for you to use during a communal sauna already in session. A private sauna experience can be arranged for a fee. A hot shower is located inside of the sauna house. It is available 24/7 except during other campers private scheduled sauna times. A composting toilet is located near the parking area.
Our campground is small to promote a peaceful experience. We currently offer 2 sites, with a 3rd in progress. The Zem Bungalow is an off-grid glamping experience in a round, wooden, cozy bungalow overlooking the rhododendron garden (max 2), and the Foxglove platform, an 18 x 18 raised wooden platform ready for your tent, in a meadow next to a gently flowing creek (max 4). Four permanent residences also enjoy the beauty of Nelson Mountain Gardens. Each are separate and away from the campsites.
You are welcome to bring your well-behaved dog(s). Limit 2. Horses are welcome with prior approval. Please let us know when booking.
There is no cell phone service in our rural area. Limited wi-fi is available in parts of the rhododendron garden and at the barn for making necessary calls (no downloading, streaming or extended video calls). A phone charging station is located in the sauna house. Parking onsite is free.
Smoking or vaping anything is prohibited inside of any structure on the property. Smoking anything that requires fire is prohibited except for inside of your vehicle or on the paved road off of the property. Vaping is ok anywhere outside.

Our 5.6 acre hobby farm is located on the bank of the Santiam River with 200 feet of riverfront. It is located between the towns of Lebanon and Sweet Home off Hwy 20. It's fun to drop into the river 3 miles upriver near Sweet Home and kayak right up to our beach! Take in a stunning river-view sunrise from the group fire pit area, located about a 2 minute walk from the RV camp site. Canada geese, ducks, river otters, mink, deer, bald eagles and osprey frequent this stretch of the river. Unwind with a mindful walk through our stone labyrinth. Or hang a hammock by the river and nap to the sound of rushing water.

A lovely weekend spent listening to the rain as we fell asleep. Woke up to gorgeous views of the suspension bridge, got to take part in a sauna and cold plunge in the river, and even found some newts along the trail. An amazing stay and lovely hosts! They were very welcoming and such a cozy stay, we’ll be back for sure. :)

The cabin is tidy and cozy. There are a few games to play, and space to relax. We loved hiking the trails and hanging out near the creek. We heard a great horned owl at night. The property is lovely, and there's great communication with the hosts, who are friendly, and made the stay comfortable. The composting toilet doesn't smell bad at all, and the shower is really nice, with pretty mosaic tiles. This is our second stay, and its a great place to relax and play with family. Our kid really loves sleeping in the loft. Great views all around.

The property itself is very beautiful. The cabin has a lot of charm and character and it was nice being right next to the creek with the sound of the water. Communication with the host was both great before and during our stay. They were super helpful with getting the sauna going when we reached out. The cabin was clean and it was nice to have some legit cookware including stainless steel pots and pans and a cast iron skillet as opposed to the scratched Teflon at so many places. The kitchen has the basics like salt, pepper, and cooking oil. The wood burning stove has a good draw and heats the place well. Nice dried bundles were already next to the cabin for a very reasonable cost of $5 per bundle. There is an electric heating unit in both the kitchen and the bedroom. The only caveat being that they're not suppose to run at the same time. The cabin was really lovely along with the great host so we definitely recommend staying here.

These guys put the hip in #hipcamp. Jim was a wonderful and engaging host. We stayed in the caboose and the highlights were hanging out with the host and his friends, the sauna, and hot tub. If you are bringing kids maybe check with the host or Eric on the vibe before coming. It is a beautiful property and you can tell Jim has put a lot of thought, effort, and himself in the place. We had a wonderful time staying at this special spot for a friends getaway. Our host was extremely helpful and responsive. The cabin is so well thought-out, and it's lovely to see the creativity and time that has gone into this property. It's so nice to be able to walk right out the door and hike their private trails, listen to the creek, and relax. We arrived right after fire restrictions were lifted, so we were able to use the outdoor fire pit and look at the stars. We also used the sauna every day we were there. It has an electric sauna heater and a small woodstove, so you can choose your heat source, and the short little path down to the cold dip in the creek is genius. Some folks in reviews have mentioned the composting toilets--as some of our group lives entirely off-grid, we were actually taking pictures of their setup because it's really well designed. Just think of all the water you're saving in the world. The property itself is well cared for, and their little dog is such a cutie. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved staying at the Alsea family farms creek cabin! Where to begin?! The hosts were so kind and left us veggies and fresh strawberries picked from their garden on the property. Also a fresh vase of flowers sat on the kitchen table when we arrived which was so thoughtful. The cabin has a private hiking trail that was so peaceful and lovely. The streams and small series of bridges behind the cabin was charming and peaceful. I sat on the bigger footbridge for breakfast one morning taking in the surroundings. Small and all children not connected to devices especially would love to explore around near the creek and look and listen for critters. For the space itself was beautiful clean with everything you need. Bedding was lovely to look at comfortable to sleep in and clean. One thing that might throw certain people off would be the composting toilet. The management team works hard maintaining the space and keeping it as clean and functional and good smelling as possible. But it is a composting toilet. I personally had no problem with it. I grew up camping so this was no big deal. Up in the loft my children said they felt like they were in a treehouse. We really enjoyed everything about this place and I would have stayed longer if I could. I look forward to coming back and have shared pictures and my experience with friends. Thank you again for the lovely stay!

This was such a tranquil spot for our family. The cabin had everything we needed, was super comfortable, with so many windows looking out into the beautiful woods. The camp hosts were thoughtful and friendly, responded quickly to messages, and welcomed us onto the whole property with its gardens and chickens. We took a relaxing stroll through the stunning woods and spent quiet afternoons playing games and reading. Perfect!
