Great spot along the Umpqua with river access for fishing or relaxing. My boys caught a couple of bass while we were there. Cornhole set up was nice. Definitely hot, but can cool off in the river. Highly recommend.

We truly enjoyed ourselves with friends. We recommend the RV area with 30 amp. Plenty of space for more than 1 camp trailer even tho we were happy to be the only ones there. Dogs loved being off leashes and going down to the water. Water was warm. There is a place to put your chairs out to enjoy the sun. We will be back soon.

We enjoyed camping with our friends. The dogs loved being able to roam about. We took advantage of the 30 amp hookup which we haven't used since we bought our camp trailer. The water was warm and able to paddle board. The place on the water was a great place to sunbathe. We have the place to ourselves except for tent campers whom never bothered us. We will be back! Nice little spot for a bigger group. Brent is super communicative and helpful making the whole start easier. RV hookups are nice and there are a few spots. There's not much shade on the field so you'll want to make sure you pack a pop up of some kind in the hotter months. The ramp down to the water is a bit over grown but that might be seasonal.

FYI, Hipcamps map for site locations is not correct. Two go next to the driveway and the other four follow the creek. From the South GPS is very accurate to our driveway. Coming from the North, GPS may drop you a few driveways away as that is the property line. Keep driving about another 1/8th mile until you see the large red "Cornerstone Ranch" sign. That is our driveway. Welcome... The ranch offers 6 different campsites. Campfires are allowed (outside of burn bans), and there is a toilet in off season and Port-A-Potties during the summer on site as well. Reviews from guests: "During the night we could hear Elk and the nearby nature! When we woke up we got to visit with the horses, use the really clean port-potty, and chat with Bonnie and Chris the Hosts. They have tons of recommendations, but our favorite was the Indian creek cafe across the river. The areas so great and clean and the host cares about their guests! Would recommend!"

Grassy mowed area along the Sixes River on our cattle ranch and cranberry farm. We provide an outdoor shower and composting toilet shared by the 5 camp sites. The shower water is filtered water from a shallow well, but bring water to drink. This campsite lies about 1 mile from the pacific ocean at about 15 feet elevation so it will be cooler than inland camp sites. I believe we are the closest camping to the south side of the Blacklock Hiking Trails. Also next to the Cape Blanco State Airport. (call if you want to fly in and get transport to and from the campsite). Access Road is a single lane in and out (gravel, dirt, and grass). Any towed trailers need to be pulled by a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle to climb back out (in and out procedures for trailers will be provided) Bring a fishing pole or a kayak. Sea-run trout are in the river during the summer (no motorized vehicles allowed in the Sixes River by law. No motorized vehicles in campsite besides automobiles by rule.) - Please be accurate with the number of guests in your party. Please note about lack of signage: The "walters landing" and "92220" on airport road are the only markings to indicate our entrance. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Our names are David and Nicole, this is a bit of our story. We were going through all that stuff and conversations that you do, when you know your spirit needs a big shift. It took two years and we narrowed it down to two choices both included letting go of "things" and the life we both thought we were working towards. In July of 2017 we closed escrow on our second choice, we purchased a neglected 1949 roadside motel and RV park in Bandon, OR. We haven't looked back and each day we pour our hearts out to revive the property. Some days you notice what still needs to be done there are many plans to make our vision whole, but most times you just notice the little things and it feels comfortable and welcoming. We are both thankful for all the guests who have made our space theirs. David and I invite you to enjoy a clean, simple curated space to relax and reboot. Welcome to the Bandon Wayside.
