GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family. The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6). Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep. Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. 1 night at Camp Colton

Camp Colton is an awesome place to visit! Their property is large and has a lot of activities to explore (animal petting area, trails on the property, and a fishing pond). They've got a variety of awesome structures including cabins, a tiny home, yurts, and a communal covered fire pit gazebo. The Beehive cottage met my expectations perfectly, it was clean, warm, and tucked into the trees right by a creek that runs through the property. It was perfect for a quick getaway, while providing comfortable amenities during a cold and rainy Oregon fall evening. The bed is perfectly comfortable, and was made prior to my arrival. The host provided towels and linens, I didn't need to bring anything extra. Additionally, there is a covered back patio which is a perfect spot to sit out and listen to the babble of the creek and wildlife spot. I would recommend a stay here!

My favorite place was the loft, waking up to the windows surrounding you with beautiful trees and rain pouring on the roof- can’t get much better. Staying at the flying f ranch was so relaxing and refreshing. The cows did make their way up to the cabin and it was so cool getting to watch them. Brent and Tabitha showed us up to the cabin and were very nice, they were welcoming and had a beautiful property! Definitely get some steaks, eggs and ground beef!! They were delicious!! The porch sitting is awesome as well!

Weekend Trip to Alsea Valley Farm

We had a wonderful time staying at this special spot for a friends getaway. Our host was extremely helpful and responsive. The cabin is so well thought-out, and it's lovely to see the creativity and time that has gone into this property. It's so nice to be able to walk right out the door and hike their private trails, listen to the creek, and relax. We arrived right after fire restrictions were lifted, so we were able to use the outdoor fire pit and look at the stars. We also used the sauna every day we were there. It has an electric sauna heater and a small woodstove, so you can choose your heat source, and the short little path down to the cold dip in the creek is genius. Some folks in reviews have mentioned the composting toilets--as some of our group lives entirely off-grid, we were actually taking pictures of their setup because it's really well designed. Just think of all the water you're saving in the world. The property itself is well cared for, and their little dog is such a cutie. We would definitely stay here again!

GeerCrest Farm is a little slice of heaven! We rented the bunkhouse for our daughter’s birthday and the girls had the best time exploring the property. So many fun things to do and lovely spots to enjoy. The hosts were very gracious and helpful - setting up badminton for the kids to play, and loaning us a camp stove so we could heat up some soup. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend.

We had an amazing time at the farm. The animals were super friendly, and the hosts were there for whatever we needed. The cabin that we stayed in was really clean and cozy. We enjoyed s’mores at the fire pit and playing cards on the back patio. The only suggestion I can make is to have a lower wattage lightbulb in the cabin. Thank you so much for having us. We had an amazing time. I would recommend these cabins to anyone who wants a wonderful farm experience.

My kids, my friend and her two kids stayed in the Bunkhouse. It was incredibly clean from top to bottom! The kids felt like they were in a fairy land. Beautiful woods all around the cabin, cute details and they loved visiting the ducks and sheep on the property. Jim was a kind host and very helpful! Made the whole trip smooth and fun! We loved staying in Trent’s little cabin oasis! The bed was comfy, the hot tub was extremely fun and relaxing, the hammock was where my wife spent most of her time, while I spent my time cooking and playing fetch with our dog. I’d certainly recommend this place to friends! The cooking supplies really helped, and there were little things like salt/pepper, the bedside fan, fresh water, ice, tiki torches, and coffee that made our stay even better. Trent and his wife were super friendly with our dog, which we always appreciate! Thank you for having us!

From the moment we first communicated with Trent he was very accommodating. Everyone around the property is extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Any questions you have they can answer (even about Burmese Poison Fighting Goats). The bed was very comfortable, the wood fired hot tub relaxing, and the property serene (albeit some noisy neighbors at 4am- looking at you roosters). Stay here, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We loved staying at the Alsea family farms creek cabin! Where to begin?! The hosts were so kind and left us veggies and fresh strawberries picked from their garden on the property. Also a fresh vase of flowers sat on the kitchen table when we arrived which was so thoughtful. The cabin has a private hiking trail that was so peaceful and lovely. The streams and small series of bridges behind the cabin was charming and peaceful. I sat on the bigger footbridge for breakfast one morning taking in the surroundings. Small and all children not connected to devices especially would love to explore around near the creek and look and listen for critters. For the space itself was beautiful clean with everything you need. Bedding was lovely to look at comfortable to sleep in and clean. One thing that might throw certain people off would be the composting toilet. The management team works hard maintaining the space and keeping it as clean and functional and good smelling as possible. But it is a composting toilet. I personally had no problem with it. I grew up camping so this was no big deal. Up in the loft my children said they felt like they were in a treehouse. We really enjoyed everything about this place and I would have stayed longer if I could. I look forward to coming back and have shared pictures and my experience with friends. Thank you again for the lovely stay!
