We have a small area in our Alpaca pasture designated for campers. We are a short drive (2miles) to down town Hermiston. Our ranch has been here since the 1940's and has decreased in size since its days as a potato farm. The Alpacas are shy but curious. They are not dangerous but do not like dogs 🐕🦺 and other small animals. (Please keep pets on a leash) We remove the Alpacas and mow the camping areas but please keep in mind that this is a pasture that is used when campers are not present. Please be prepared. We live in a beautiful location! The main attraction is the outdoors. The large Ponderosa pines and oak trees surrounding the safari tent fill the air with a scent that some say smells like vanilla. Birds chirp, deer graze, and squirrels gather food throughout the day. Sit on the porch and watch it all happen—it truly is relaxing!
I want to mention that the stargazing here is amazing! Simply press the power button on the back of the solar panel to turn off the lights for a better view of the night sky. Please turn them back on when you're finished, if you remember.
Be sure to visit Goldendale Observatory. It boasts one of the largest public telescopes in the nation, and admission is free.

I fell in love with this place! I tent camped in the pasture and really enjoyed meeting the pigs and goats. They were so friendly and adorable. The owners are very nice! I slept great. The little town is fun. There is a winery a very short walk away and the main town area is fun to walk to. Perfect evening!

This is one of my favorite stops on the way between Oregon and Washington!!! 100% recommend. The team at the winery are SO friendly and caring. The wines are great and views are amazing.
There are train tracks below the bluff and the train does run throughout the day and evening. It didn't distract from the peaceful views and beauty for me- and I was able to use sleep sounds for the night so slept fine.
This area does have a lot of wind which I enjoy and helps to cool off the camper- but some maybe bothered by it as you wont be able to use awnings etc.

We stayed at Rick’s Exercise Farm while in Sunnyside for a memorial and it was exactly what we needed. Traveling with our puppy, we were looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay, and this was the perfect solution.
The RV spot has beautiful farmland views, full hookups, and a lovely outdoor area with a picnic bench that made it easy to enjoy meals outside. There was also plenty of room for our puppy to run around and play fetch, which was a huge bonus.
We would definitely recommend this Hipcamp to others, especially anyone traveling with pets, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Lefever Holbrook Ranch
My wife, our dog, and I had a great stay at Paulette's beautiful ranch. Spring's a lovely time to visit since the wildflowers are exploding. The meadows were full of vibrant purple and yellow, and our dog loved playing in the fields! We drove right up to the lookout, which was really convenient. The space itself is quaint and beautifully preserved. It was nice meeting Paulette and learning about the lookout's history.
This was our first time staying in one and it felt magical. If conditions are good, I definitely recommend checking out the Goldendale Observatory for some stargazing. We can't wait to come back, maybe next time in the summer or fall to see how the landscape changes. Thanks for everything!
