This 55 acre park is home of a large sandstone that contains 8 markings believed to have been made by Vikings many years ago. The park features a seasonal waterfall, covered picnic areas, playground, amphitheater with seating, community building, scenic views, gift shop and approximately 2 miles of nature trails. Be advised that most tent sites have a tent pad but a few are primitive mountain terrain (rocky). The one RV site is for 16 ft. or less vehicles and smaller teardrop trailers with limited hook-up and no dump station. Restroom and shower facilities are located within the park. Individual campsites DO NOT have onsite toilets. Forest setting while still close to stores in case of forgotten items. Variety of small wildlife in the area. Welcome to our little slice of heaven, 30 acres of natural prairie nestled on the highest point in the county overlooking the surrounding Twin Mounds valley. Like most of us, we were in desperate need of a place to get away from the bustle of daily life, slow down, and decompress, and the land gave us just that! Interestingly, each year we find out more about our home, from its Native American prehistory of being a ceremonial grounds, to its 19th century cival war conflict, and most recently, a lost article published in the 1940s in the local Oklahoman gazette that talks about burried treasure! Our sites offer lots of open space and are private and seculded from each other. We offer maintained camping sites which are closer to the main entrance and are easily accessible with standard vehicles as well as more our more natural habitat spots that are further into the back pasture. We have easy access to two main highways with the nearest Walmart 10 minutes away. Good cell phone coverage for all the main providers at most locations on the property. My location is about 8 miles due west of the little town of Caney, Oklahoma. I’m very rural, no close neighbors, 19 acres of pasture and woods. Plenty of places to park, one area is back in the woods a bit with water and 50 amp service, others strictly boondocking. There’s not much “close” to me but I’m kind of centrally located between Atoka, Texoma and McGee lakes. Boggy depot state park and Fort Washita is close by and south of me is the Choctaw Casino. It’s very quiet and no nighttime lights so there’s an awesome night sky. Please check out the map I've included in my photos for precise directions. The last 2.5 miles to get to my house is by gravel road and my entrance may be a bit difficult to spot but my name and address is on the big black mailbox. Just turn in and cross the cattle guard and go through the driveway into the open field. Parking is on the north side of the drive along the tree line or back in the woods. Don’t hesitate to contact me directly for directions. If you follow my guidance, you should have no problem finding me or turning into my drive. Pets are welcome but I suggest they remain on a leash if you’re around my house or other campers and please clean up after them. The open field around my house is not always mowed because my neighbor cuts the hay and I like the spring wildflowers. I try to keep a walking path around my place but I travel too so at times it may not be well maintained. Since I do travel a lot, I may not be home when you arrive. Please make yourself at home and leave the place as you found it. Thank you!

The campsite overlooks over 600 acres of peaceful grassy knolls which takes the viewer back in time. See below for a bit of local history and things to see while in the area. Our campsites are BYOS sites: We do not provide outhouses or tent potties at our sites, so you must bring your own. We do, however, provide a full restroom with shower/bath at the main house during reasonable hours and have a septic for you to dispose of your waste (during open hours) so you don't have to travel with it. Welcome and we hope you enjoy yourselves and get a glimpse of a little bit of what our tierheim visitors enjoy when they come here. Local History About 65 miles southwest of Oklahoma City, near the junction of Highways 81 and 17, was a sign that said: "Welcome to Rush Springs, home of 1500 happy faces and a few old soreheads." Now the sign says: "Welcome to Rush Springs." Also, there is a giant watermelon slice indicating that Rush Springs is also the Watermelon Capital. Rush Springs gets its name from the large springs near the head of Rush Creek from which the town gets its water supply. It is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) settlements in Grady County, Oklahoma. The history of Rush Springs may be divided into six periods. The first period leads up to 1858. The springs served as a camping site for Indian tribes from very early days. The Wichita Indians settled on Rush Creek about four miles southeast of the present town around 1850. It was at this place that the famous "Battle of the Wichita Village" was fought between the Comanches and the United States Calvary on October 1, 1858. After this battle, the Wichitas fled to Fort Arbuckle. The second period deals with the Chisholm cattle trail (1865-1892). Thousands of heads of cattle were driven northward across the territory over this trail from Texas to Kansas. This trail passed about one and a half miles east of the town, and the springs served as a watering place for the cattle. This trail ceased to be used after the railroad was built across the territory in 1892. Parts of this trail can still be seen today. The third period covers the years 1871-1878. Fort Sill had just been established. Supplies had to be shipped to Fort Sill from points in the eastern part of Indian Territory. After the building of the railroad across the eastern part of the territory, Caddo became the main shipping point. Rush Springs was between Caddo and Fort Sill. A stage stand was built and a little town sprang up. When the government freight station was moved from Caddo to Texas, the little town nearly died. The years 1878-1892 make up the fourth period. The "Huntley Ranch" was established on Rush Creek near the site of the old Wichita Village. The ranch became a stage stand and a freight station for local settlers. A post office, known as "Parr," was established at this place in 1883. In 1892, this post office was moved to Rush Springs. The fifth period begins in the year 1892, when the Rock Island Railroad came through the springs. It became a government freight station to Fort Sill for nine years, resulting in rapid growth of the town. The sixth period dates from 1901 when the Rock Island Railroad lines were extended to Fort Sill and Lawton, thus ceasing the freight trade at Rush Springs. The town has since depended on ranching, farming and oil interest for its existence. We had a quick one night stay booked at the last minute. Courtney was really responsive to our messages and questions. The campground was cute and well-maintained. The gravel pad we had was level so no fuss with leveling our RV. Very quiet night’s sleep out in the country.

I cannot wait to come back next spring! The property is beyond beautiful! The cute outhouse, upcoming shower and hammocks just add to the fun atmosphere here. The hosts are absolutely incredible! They checked on me, gave me some “newbie” advice and assistance and were just the sweetest ever!

1 night at Redbud Tiny Home & RV Resort

Booked this about a month out for my trip thru Texas. The RV park is pretty new according to Anthony the owner who greeted me after my arrival. It's very well laid out with 10 newly built tiny homes and many pull thru fully equipped RV spaces. The park also contains full bathrooms, laundry facilities, dog park, pickle ball court, code enabled entry gate and a disc golf course. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay especially if you like full rv hookups resort like atmosphere spotless clean amenities. The price to stay was a bargain considering all the amenities provided.

Camping on Mark and Angela’s land was simple. They met us when we arrived, gave us a great tour of the VW Krankenhaus (which as former owners of several different VWs, we enjoyed!), showed us where to find the facilities, and left us to set up camp. They were friendly and their place was as described.

6 nights at K.C. Ranch

This has to be the best place to camp in Oklahoma. Longhorns roaming around, getting to tour with Casey (grandson) and the host, Glenda, was awesome. Such a great family and time on this property. I was there 6 nights, 4 at a camp where I truck camped, 2 at the tiny home. The tiny home was perfect when it got really cold and was able to have a good comfortable shelter. The campsite was great and remote but still able to have the longhorns roaming nearby. I would 100% recommend to anyone in this area and plan to stay next time I’m over that way.

I found the location very easily and the owner even warned me of a dip in the road so I came in from a different direction (which they outlined to me) because I have a relatively low to the ground clearance trailer that I tow. Mark and Angela were very helpful reaching out to me before and during my trip. They are both VW enthusiasts and Angela gave me a tour of their VW collection in and around their pole barn garage. They were both very hospitable and I enjoyed my stay there. They made their cabana bathroom available for my stay which was super nice. Would highly recommend if you're in the Oklahoma City area as a place to stay.

Nice spot to spend a night. The shower, restroom, and laundry were clean and the water was hot. You can hear the interstate traffic but it didn't bother us at all. We would stay again!

Weekend Trip to Paradise Valley Outlanders Plot

It was a lovely place, though the drive ways were quite narrow. Our trailer is 28 ft and would be workable, but a longer one may be challenging, depending on the driver. However, because of the proximity of cellular, radio transmission towers and a wind farm, my wife was unable to stay as she is highly sensitive to both EM band radiation and high voltage electrical fields. It's unfortunate because the host seems genuinely wonderful and the area was really nice. I did not have a reaction and think I would have slept very well, but my wife did and couldn't stay in the area, so I would recommend it for anyone who is not EM sensitive, but not for anyone who is.

Weekend Trip to Dave's Hideout

Stayed at Dave’s Hideout for five days and loved it. Beautiful spot. Tons of stars at night, peaceful, and you can hear and see plenty of wildlife. The grass smelled amazing after the rain. You’re far enough out to feel secluded but can still see other campers in the distance. Dave is also an amazing and kind host. 10/10

We loved camping on Glenda’s land she was very hospitable and the views were amazing! We woke up each morning and drank coffee as the longhorns made their way to the pond. 10/10 would recommend!!
