Whomever named Mosquito Lake Park obviously didn't understand good PR, but don't let the name discourage you. Nearly 2,500 acres of marshes and woodlands create a beautiful ambiance for your next getaway in Mother Nature. Stroll along one of two trails in the park, where robins and warblers tucked behind purple cresses and beech-maple trees may just move you to tears, or at least to write a haiku. Floating devices of just about every variety are invited to channel the 7,850 lake, and areas like a dog park means Fido is more than welcome on the scene. We have a half acre pond filled with bluegill and large mouth bass, a hillside with apple trees and blackberry bushes, and a large gravel turnaround for easy access. We have just under 20 acres. You can drive right to the camp sites located about 700 foot behind the house. It is a peaceful setting over looking a pond, fishing is welcome. There is a pavilion and a playground. Kids and dogs are welcome. We are close to several local wineries and about 20 minutes from Lake Erie. Pymatuning Lake is 30 minutes away. Geneva on the Lake is about 30 minutes from us.
We have a catch and release fishing pond. There are 8 sites, all pretty spaced out to give privacy and a relaxing experience. 2 of which are pretty secluded site 6 and site 8. Campsites 1, 2,4,5 and 7have a view of the pond. Site 3 is near a meadow and sits behind all the other sites. Sites 1,2,3,7 can be RV or tent sites.
The pavilion adds a sense of comfort especially during rain days. We have corn hole , bocce ball and a few other relaxing games as well as a few card and board games for playing while enjoying the pavilion.

I’m very close to all the creature comforts like Walmart and Target, but the property is wooded on three sides so you feel like you’ve gotten away from the city. There is a small creek my dogs love to play in and a large field for frisbee and star gazing. There are hikes close by at Little Turtle Pond and many restaurants within 10 minutes like Woodys for breakfast and dinner at NauitiVine. Purchased by my grandfather back in 1953 it has been a diverse fruit farm for many years.
Currently we have almost 200 acres, a lot of it woods.
We don't currently grow the crops that we did but we have planted some wine grapes in the last several years.

Hello, this is 22 acres of no frills undeveloped land with beautiful Arcola Creek that runs into Lake Erie. There's room for an RV or can pitch a tent. Enjoy Arcola Creek Estuary a mile away, bird watching, multiple wineries, covered bridges, Geneva on the Lake or enjoy all day by the creek. There is a perfect spot with a fire pit. (Firewood available for purchase)
There are rough trails in the back where the land was logged. There is not a bridge currently but can be accessed easily when the water level is low. Please limit guests to 6 or less people. The land isnt perfectly level but there are some flat spots for tents. Although neighbors are some distance away I ask that noise levels are low after 10.
^Please note that there is a camera on the property (not on camp site) for security of my equipment/property when the land is vacant. Camera is rotated out of view after arrival for full privacy of the guests.
There is an outhouse with a bucket on the property if needed and flushable toiliets a mile north on Dock Rd at Arcola Creek Park(Overlooking Lake Erie). Theres also electric outlets there and under the pavilion.
Facts & History:: Arcola creek runs into an estuary. Its one of the last remaining natural estuaries in Ohio. Steelhead trout spawn and migratory birds find shelter here.
The creek was used by Native Americans and the area was instrumental for its role in the Underground Railroad for escaped slaves that boarded ships (at the end of the Dock Rd) on their way to Canada.
The town of Ellensburg was built at the junction of Arcola Creek and Lake Erie. It was a thriving community of ship builders, fishermen and commerce. Arcole Iron Works was located south of the mouth of the creek (then called Cunningham Creek after Captain John Cunningham who purchased property there in the early 1800s). Arcole Iron Works was, at one time, the largest industry in Ohio. Bog iron, discovered in Madison Township near North Ridge Road in 1812, and the abundance of timber provided the raw materials for iron furnaces. Iron stoves, kettles, hollowware and other heavy castings were made at the foundry.

We were able to have our dog roam, she absolutely loved the freedom. We reserved this campsite to visit the national park Cuyahoga. It was PERFECT distance. We visited Cleveland on the way back and had a campfire that night. The host was super nice and accommodating. We would absolutely visit again!

Jason and Marcie's place was practically perfect! I was in town for a concert and needed a place nearby the casino to rest and begin following day exploring CVNP. It's peaceful and roomy, but still within a few minutes of restaurants, retail , etc if you need to run an errand.
Marcie greeted me shortly after arrival and made sure I knew where everything was. She answered all my questions and was ok with me coming back late after the show. I was the only Hipcamper that night so I had the whole place to myself!

I loved the gorgeous pond and saw fish jumping, a cottontail rabbit, two deer coming to graze under the apple trees, and enjoyed dipping my feet in the warm pond water under the willow tree. Very close to major intersections which makes it easy to find, so there is some road noise (bring ear plugs if that bothers you) but this is truly a hidden gem.
