Cabin and Company (RV/Campers only)

Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods.

Make a stop back in time to our quiet woodland retreat with an updated 1800’s log cabin nestled on the property. At Cabin and Company, you will be parked beside this beautiful cabin and will be allowed access at your leisure for a place to sit and relax. (No overnight sleeping allowed inside)  Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (provided) while watching tv or on our covered porch outside.  You may also select a movie or two from our large selection of DVDs or find a book to read among our stash of books.  Play cards, engage in one of the other games provided, or just sit in the quiet of it all and rest your mind and There is a golf chipping area as well as basketball and cornhole.. We have WIFI at our residence on the adjacent property and some areas of the camp will pick it up better than others. There is a fire ring on site with an adjustable grate for cooking and plenty of seasoned firewood available.. We will have a few items available for purchase inside the cabin including local honey (when available) apple butter, coffee, hand crafted walking sticks and you won’t want to leave without some of these goodies.  This semi secluded property is a gem and we hope you will enjoy this piece of history as much as we do.  You may see wildlife such as whitetail deer and of course, there are plenty of birds and squirrels around.  You won’t be disappointed in this cozy Midwest retreat and will want to make this one of your places while passing through our beautiful Ohio.  Most of all, relax and enjoy.

Country Outpost RV Site

Looking for a couple acres all to yourself?  Then overnight your self-contained RV at our retired Christmas tree farm.  An active "choose-n-cut" tree farm until 2019, we're letting most of our farm grow wild with some deciduous trees also. There are walking trails throughout the "woods" and around our 3/4 acre fishing pond (catch n release please).  Relax on the bench on the old country store porch or by the fire ring, fish, or stretch your legs and walk the dog.   A pleasant, private, isolated spot in the country to overnight or spend a couple days. 

If you're a small family staying just one night, there is no "extra guest" fee for dependent children.

Includes a 30 amp service hookup.  Gravel parking lot angles slightly up hill.   No tents, no swimming please.  2 nights max per stay.  No bathrooms on site! Operated by Outpost Enterprises, LTD

We are thrilled to begin sharing our cozy tiny cabins with you all while we are wrapping up renovations on The Cedar Lodge!

Our property is tucked away in the small village of New Paris in Southwestern Ohio, with wooded grounds and a picturesque pond - and plenty of birding opportunities, we've been told!

Don't miss the outdoor firepit, nothing better than a bonfire next to the lakefront!

The bathroom has a separate entry, shared between this unit (the Cozy Lakefront Cabin) and our floating tiny home also on the property (the Grey Heron). We ask that all guests be respectful of shared spaces and others' property.

A spacious and luxurious bathroom located conveniently nearby. Including grab bars and a mini-split for personal comfort.

Enjoy the rainfall shower head in this spa-like environment.

Our cozy tiny cabin consists of a studio-style single bedroom with a phenomenal lake-front view!


Sea of Green Campsite

If you are here in the spring through fall, you can expect a "sea of green". We are surrounded by corn, soybeans or some other mid-west crop. It's quiet out here, so enjoy the sunshine. We put out a large garden each year and we'd love your help.

Right now, we can only offer primitive camping. Our electric is not operational. 

If there has been a lot of rain (April and part of May), then the ground is too soft for camping. However, if you just need a spot we have some gravel driveways where you can set up. 

There are lots of places to visit while you are here. Two large lakes with free public access are about 40 miles away - Lake Loramie and Grand Lake St. Marys. Lake Loramie has a public beach, bicycle rentals, canoes and kayaks. There is a great restaurant across from the State Park.
