1 night at Artemis Gardens BnB

My stay at Lisa's was just magical. The vibe was just heaven to this old hippie's heart who felt like a kid in a candy store exploring all the Wonders that can be found in every corner. This place is so unique warm and welcoming there's a little something for just about everyone unless you just want to hold up in a room alone and then you might as well go to a Motel 6 because this place is all about engaging in life in all forms whether it is chilling out to good music, creating some art or playing music on one of the instruments or cooking a nice meal for the first time in 6 weeks, even just sitting and watching the rain through the beautiful floor to ceiling Windows surrounded by plants. I have already told many friends and I'm planning a return visit. Thank you Lisa you are a gracious and beautiful hostess

Weekend Trip to Fairhaven

We had such a great time camping at Fairhaven! The campsite was nice with a lot of shaded trees, privacy and a picnic table. We loved how peaceful it was at night and the close proximity to a real toilet (which was especially clean)! Our little ones really loved looking at the chickens and had fun playing in the sandbox area. Melissa, the host, was very communicative and hospitable. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely be back!

We loved camping out here! It was super peaceful and nice. There was only two down falls (weather sucked big time but it gave us more time to spend quality time together, and the grass is really long and unfortunately my mother in law did find a tick in her ear, we would highly recommend trimming it often to prevent any further issues). Otherwise Joshua and Rachael were amazing! They tried to help us with the shower issue we had but due to weather and our hot water tank going it didn’t work out, but we managed! They offered to give us info on local spots etc. overall just an incredible experience. We would definitely camp here again!

What can I say, this is a wonderful piece of land. From the campsites and the amazing views of the pond, to the peace and quiet provided our stay exceeded my expectations. Richard was kind and attentive but Ruby (his loving dog) stole our hearts. Everything was exactly as described in the listing which made navigating a breeze. Trails and campsites were well marked which I really appreciated. I couldn't recomend this place enough!! Can't wait to get back with the whole family.

My adult daughter and I do a get away each year to celebrate our birthdays. We both are exhausted professionals and need to truly wind down. Lisa’s place was exactly what we needed. The house is so deeply chill and comfy! So many cool things to look at and touch. The added plus of the hanging hoop really blew my daughter’s mind and I loved watching her play like a girl again. We will 100% be coming back!!!

It was a peaceful stay. A nice retreat while in town for worlds WGI (drumline competition). Lisa made breakfast & coffee each morning. Other guests brought their doggo Fox. It was nice having a furry friend around. I hope to come back next year & bring my husband & dog too!

Weekend Trip to Artemis Gardens BnB

Lisa (human), Nemo, Luna, and Artemis (cats) were amazing hosts during my stay. I came for an outdoorsy getaway and the hiking in the area was plentiful and close. Definitely check out the Charleston Falls - they're amazing year round! Lisa's house is a work of art, each nook and cranny painted and decorated with her own work and charming decor. The room was cozy, the bed comfy, the cats friendly (shout out to my girl Nemo, who will crawl into your skin if you let her. Lots of kisses and cuddles from that ginger sweetheart). The highlight is the sitting room with gorgeous plants and lots of sunlight, looking out onto greenery and critters. Lisa was a gracious host who answered all messages/requests quickly. She made me breakfast and gave me recs for local spots. Spot was easy to find, parking was easy, and although there are a few far-flung neighbors it was 100% quiet.

Weekend Trip to Indian Lake Adventures

We had a great time glamping in our adorable Indian Lake tiny house! The grounds are well maintained and lovely, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. On the edge of the property is a brew pub with games, cozy seating indoors and out, fire pits, and sometimes even live music and food trucks, which was a pleasant surprise. House was well equipped with many essentials, too. Would definitely stay again!!

The chapel was the perfect quick getaway. Not having to pack a tent was great and a little weather came in during the early morning but my son never even woke up. Richard came out and introduced himself and made sure we had everything taken care of. There was some good fishing and it was very comfortable. Will definitely be back

4 nights at GloryField Hospitality Farm

Had to be in Jamestown, OH for a couple of days, and this Hip Camp site was in the perfect location. The setting was peaceful, and each morning brought a beautiful sunrise. Unfortunately, the weather was cold, windy, and rainy during our stay—I wish it had been warmer so I could have taken a nature walk around the property. The site was easy to access, making arrival and departure hassle-free. Kimberly, the host, was fantastic with communication, and if you're traveling with a group, she has nearby Airbnb properties as well. Looking forward to coming back in better weather!

Good news! Open fire ban lifted, camp fires are ok now! The Flying J Farm is 250 beautiful rolling acres including 100 acres of forest, 6-acre lake small pond, three streams, and numerous fields for crops and pastures with cows. The owner bought the farm in 1998 for his retirement from a faculty position at the Ohio State university. Two buildings, the farm house and old barn, are original dating back to 1831. These have been restored for current use. The mission of the farm is to restore health both in people though the products produced and in the land by farming in a sustainable way with no conventional chemicals, antibiotics, and use of GMO. We host many visitors including tours and events. An on farm market is available to visitors for purchase of our products including grass-fed beef, maple syrup, and fruits and vegetables. The cabin was built using wood from the farm. It has off-grid electricity meaning it is powered by batteries charged by solar panels. There is not sufficient power for devices with a heating element such as coffee makers and hair dryers. You may charge cell phones. For any other use, please check with the owner. Wild Life. There is an abundance of wildlife to be observed on the farm. Deer can be seen at dusk, raccoons can be seen going through your camp food at night (if you put it in your car), turkeys, hawks, vultures, rabbits, coyotes (heard screaming at night), frogs (especially heard at night), fish (jumping), and many song birds (my favorite, the bobolink, May and June only, nesting in the pastures).

This 5 acre property is loaded with activities! The stocked pond (catch and release) is a great place to teach your kids how to fish. You don't have to be an experienced fisherman to catch a fish in this pond! Swimming, kayaking, paddle boat, cornhole, small beach area for the little ones, and 2 acres of wooded trails for those who enjoy a peaceful walk. Wildlife is abundant and they prefer to be left alone. Please stay on the trails to preserve all vegetation. If you see a fawn or other babies, please do not touch these animals. Momma will be back! If you see one in distress, please contact the host. The community area at the gazebo offers a charcoal grill (charcoal available for purchase), seating, electric outlets, and water. Please be considerate to other guest while using this area. Trash receptacles are available at different areas on the property. Fresh eggs and produce will be available when in season. Please ask if you are interested. Campsites are located in the woods and are primitive. Sites include picnic table, fire pit, and trash can. Campers have access to a bathroom with a shower that is located in the basement of the cabin. All campers need to check-in with the on-site owners. All gear can be transported with a golf cart. Fairhaven - Cabin on the Pond can also be rented on the Airbnb website. Local attractions Springfield: Mad River canoeing/tubing/kayaking, Buck Creek State Park, ECO Sports Corridor Whitewater Park, Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House, Mad River Gorge, Cedar Bog Nature Preserve, George Rogers Clark Park - which has nearly 240 acres of hiking trails and license-free fishing. Wittenberg is a Lutheran-affiliated liberal arts college with a national reputation for excellent academic standards, a strong athletic tradition, and is widely known for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Mother Stewarts Brewing is located downtown as well as many great restaurants and shops. Yellow Springs: With a bike trail that is part of a 360 mile paved system in southwest Ohio and 2000 acres of preserved woodland to the east, Yellow Springs is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. Explore over fifty small locally owned boutiques featuring one of a kind merchandise from handcrafted pottery to custom designed jewelry to designer shoes. A truly unique shopping experience. The cats and poultry are free range so if you are fearful of chickens, ducks or turkeys, you probably shouldn't stay here. 😁 Owners Chuck and Amanda moved from Northern California and re-established their rescue here in Central Ohio. We have two finished studio cabins. They are very close (2 miles) to the town of Mount Vernon, OH with hiking trails on the property. Pets are allowed but there are free range animals on the property so their safety is priority. We have added a 2 acre fenced in area for dogs off leash. It's our version of a Dog Park. Plenty of bike trails around town and only 20 miles to Mohican State Park. Farm fresh eggs from our rescued chickens and local honey are available for purchase. Money from our vacation rental helps with feeding our rescue animals and expanding our non-profit animal sanctuary.
