Our accommodations range from primitive tent-camping to "glamping" in one of our tiny off-grid cabins. The sites are spaced out for privacy and each site offers a private picnic table and fire pit. There are two shared privies/outhouses which have basic composting toilets (not flushing). A grassy parking area is provided near the road, however, ALL SITES ARE WALK-IN (with the exception of site #1).

We have kayaks on location for the kids to play in the creek and creeks to hike with numerous fossils deposits. Southwestern Ohio is famous for its Ordovician fossil deposits. I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have tried to itemize separately in the Hipcamp listings. The pictures were hard to sort out.RV's and Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address which has water and electricity. You cannot actually see the Ohio River from the parking lot, but it is a short walk. Any pictures of water were taken from the tent camping site. If you are in a large vehicle, but are looking to spend a lot of time by the river,, you can hope that the site is available for use, which usually it is, (somehow I rarely book both places at once), or you can book both sites.
Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river. There is a very simple house with a bathroom, cold running water, electricity, and also provides shelter in bad weather. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. On one hand I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere when I am on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. On the other, there are planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles passing by at times.
California is just a few minutes off I-275 from the Kellogg exit, and a 15 minute drive from Cincinnati. It is the eastern-most neighborhood with a quaint village feel. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California offers several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbed Music Center, in season, is a mile away, walking distance, as is Belterra, the race track/casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the "Wild and Scenic" Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. A park with large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. The Little Miami River flows past Armleder Park a few miles away, which has a gravel river beach, a dog park, walking and biking trails and connects to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati.

I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have tried to itemize separately in the Hipcamp listings. The pictures were hard to sort out.RV's and Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address which has water and electricity. You cannot actually see the Ohio River from the parking lot, but it is a short walk. Any pictures of water were taken from the tent camping site. If you are in a large vehicle, but are looking to spend a lot of time by the river,, you can hope that the site is available for use, which usually it is, (somehow I rarely book both places at once), or you can book both sites.
Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river. There is a very simple house with a bathroom, cold running water, electricity, and also provides shelter in bad weather. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. On one hand I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere when I am on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. On the other, there are planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles passing by at times.
California is just a few minutes off I-275 from the Kellogg exit, and a 15 minute drive from Cincinnati. It is the eastern-most neighborhood with a quaint village feel. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California offers several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbed Music Center, in season, is a mile away, walking distance, as is Belterra, the race track/casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the "Wild and Scenic" Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. A park with large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. The Little Miami River flows past Armleder Park a few miles away, which has a gravel river beach, a dog park, walking and biking trails and connects to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati.

This place is out in the country away from the clutter of urban life; a place of solitude and peace and quietness. Primitive Tent Camping available. If you wanna visit old historic towns you have Augusta Ky where George Clooney’s was raised and family resides. You also have historic Maysville close to the Ohio River. Chris set up was perfect. Ideal for those not wanting to stray to far from the interstate but also not want to stay in the city. I had a late arrival and they were very accommodating and was quick to respond to messages to help me locate the driveway due to the darkness. Would highly recommend, sad I has to head out early to beat out storms. But would definitely stay again.

Home Afarm was absolutely wonderful.. everything was perfect from start to finish. The cottage was cozy and just right for us, and the outdoor seating area by the fire pit was so peaceful and relaxing! Our hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, and their chicken eggs were AMAZING! Seriously, don’t miss out on those! I also really appreciated that they offer firewood bundles for such an affordable price. We’re already looking forward to planning our next trip back to the cottage! :)

The land is very private, we were able to access the property with ease. The camp sites were distanced very nicely as we didn’t really hear or see anyone else. Access to the creek was easy, the creek water was very clear in nature. We did some fishing and caught 4 large mouth bass and a species I never dealt with before. After few forums the fish was skipjack herring know. As poor mans Tarpon. You can hear the coyotes late at night hunting animals. We didn’t encounter any wildlife like deer, or raccoons. The owner greeted us very next day. I would def come back during the summer time and do some fishing. Camp site 3 was excellent cause we like being away from people and being on our own. The location took me by surprise. The owner gave us a tip on hot tent camping, I had a stove was too close to the ground. He recommended some stone or concrete blocks. We went to Home Depot and got some cheap stone stepping stones and fixed our problem with the stove.

Two of us stayed in the Cottage. The cottage was really nicely decorated and spacious. It had a lot of windows for views with thick curtains for night. There is a full size stove and literally 28 outlets. The greenhouse shower was nice and the water got hot quickly even though it was only 39°F outside. The toilet is an outhouse vault toilet like a porta potty but it does have an electric light and lots of tp. The hosts were helpful and chill. We mostly were there to visit the mounds and caves so we didn't explore much of the property but I think you could have a nice weekend just hanging around the farm. It was also a very reasonable price and close to what we wanted to see. I would definitely recommend it

I have wanted to stay at the Longhall since my visit to the Yurt several years ago and finally got my wish! My friends and I stayed at the Longhall for my 30th birthday and it was one of the most memorable birthdays I have ever had. Not only is the space remarkable, David was such a kind and generous host and made sure we had everything we needed. I hope to be back again soon— it is one of my favorite places to go for a getaway from the day to day. We loved RV camping on Frankie's land.. She was very nice and we loved her place. Sugar, the farm dog, made our trip even better. My dog and Sugar loved each other and I loved her too... Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful farm and wonderful ponds. Very close to our home but we felt like we was 'out of town'. Very nice sites... All of them would have been great. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can come back!

Our Tribe, Tyr’s Pride Raven Banner, recently held our Winter Nights gathering at the Longhouse in Peebles, Ohio, and it was absolutely incredible.
The Longhouse itself is beautiful—you can feel the craftsmanship, care, and spirit that went into creating such a special place. The setting is peaceful and inspiring, surrounded by nature and perfect for both reflection and community.
David, the owner, was an outstanding host. His hospitality was unmatched—welcoming, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was memorable. He went above and beyond for us in every way.
We stayed for four days and every moment was meaningful. We shared good food, laughter, stories, and ceremony in a space that felt like it was made for such gatherings.
