Sweet Spot by Yellow Springs

Learn more about this land: The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes. Included in this campsite is access to our 1830s spring house if you want a refreshing dip! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING.Notes: 1) For camper vans: we do allow camper vans (not RVs or trailers) but you will need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Recently a camper got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) We are still building a compost toilet so the option on the property now is to dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The spring house is not secluded, you can see it from our driveway. We regularly let it drain and it fills itself up. Water level depends on rainfall. It is cold but perfect for hot days! 4) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. The amount of noise from cars is lower at night. 5) The meadow is ideal for tent camping, though it is NOT a built campsite so it is not perfectly level throughout.

Valley Vineyards is right down the road to enjoy a bottle of wine and cook your own steak dinner nights. Take a trip to visit Fort Ancient with a day hike. A Native American earthworks complex, the largest hilltop enclosure in the world and soon to be a World Heritage site! Enjoy some canoeing on the Little Miami River a State and National scenic river which is within walking distance. We have kayaks on location for the kids to play in the creek and creeks to hike with numerous fossils deposits. Southwestern Ohio is famous for its Ordovician fossil deposits. Kings Island is approximately 20 minute drive and the Ohio renaissance Festival is near. Caesars creek state park in Cowan lake state park is within a short drive. Smallmouth Bass fishing is awesome on Todd’s Fork and we have plenty of area to Wade fish.

This is a small working hobby farm, near the site of a historic park-George Rogers. The 1/2 mile trails are flat and clean but may have limbs or tree nuts on the ground. We have chickens which provide fresh eggs as available if you are interested for a small fee, and split firewood that is very reasonably priced, purchase at arrival. We will have bonfires as weather permits, also you can rent a large private camp fire site just for the evening. Sites are wheel chair accessible, but the trails are earth, not paved. All sites are walk-in, not able to park cars next to the camp site, I will help with out with my UTV if you have lots of gear. Learn more about this land: Separated sites (you will not see your neighbor campers) for tents/hammocks, each has a fire ring, some sites have picnic tables most have spool tables. Sites can accommodate 1-2 tents, and/or 2-4 hammocks. Have a rally site where larger groups can tent camp. Have private dirt hiking trails on site with many nearby county and state parks for more adventure. Canoe and kayak livery 1 mile away. Young’s dairy, Yellow Springs, 1800’s Carriage Hill a working Farm, Air Force Museum, Brandeberry Winery, and the Melody family restaurant are near. Join us at Riverside Adventures for your next getaway. We are located on a 67 acre farm located on the Little Miami River in the heart of Warren County Ohio, also known as "Ohio's playground". We have 4 camp sites total, all with with river front access. Each site has its own stone patio, fire ring, and picnic table, with other amenities also available. We welcome both small and large groups and can help you plan events here such as family reunions, bachelor(ette) parties, and corporate retreats. With two canoe liveries within two miles of us (Morgan's Canoe Rental and Little Miami Canoe), you can drop your canoe or kayak in upstream and make your campsite a pit stop before getting picked up downstream by their shuttles. You can also rent a tube from us and go up and down our property or hang out on your tube anchored by the beach. We can also shuttle you upstream on Saturdays and Sundays. You can hike on our property to get scenic views of the Little Miami River Valley or spend time exploring Halls Creek (just down the street), the Fort Ancient Mounds, and others. We know other special local spots we can let you in on, too. We are just a 1/2 mile from the Little Miami Bike Trail and close to Caesar's Creek, Cowan Lake, YMCA's Camp Kearn, and Camp Joy. Plain Folk Music Cafe, Fresh to Morrow, Valley Vineyards, and Little River Cafe, are also short drives if you want to grab a bite to eat and vibe on some cool, local hangouts. We're just a 15-minute drive from King's Island and an hour or less drive from Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus. It's great out here, ya'll--join us!
