There are 2 ponds on the property available for fishing and paddling. Given the area the farm covers campers will have peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. For NASCAR fans, the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway is within walking distance. If you can't occupy your time here we're within 10 minutes of many local attractions. This property is 180 acres of woods and mountains with streams and ponds. Beautiful settings. If you like hiking in the mountains this will definitely hit the spot. YO can fish in the ponds it has blue gills and catfish. I also added grass carp there as part of weed management. This used to be an abandoned farm which I want to bring back to life. The site offers three luxury large Safari Style Tents and 4 Pioneer wagons. All tents are far away from each other to provide privacy and freedom of going Wild (still remaining civilized in your manners and careful attitude to Nature around you). Tent 1 is in the Forrest itself and it is pretty cook and serene. Tent 2 is on the top of a rocky hill overlooking the forest. Tent 3 is the most remote and closest to the ponds. It has most of the open space around it, and can be a great place for parties. We are working on making the sites and the area more comfortable, but I do not want to make it a manicured park. I want it to remain wild and still offer comfortable stay. The farm is work in progress. Eventually it will be an Ostrich farm. and have other animals too. The closest town - Lenoir is about 12 miles away . Closest Grocery store (Dollar General) - about 3 miles away. Closest Gas station - 2 miles away. Professional Tennis court, Basketball court and large kids playground are in a public park within - 5 minute drive. Lenoir has restaurants, shopping, etc. Hickory is a larger town about 25 minutes drive. Hickory Lake is a large reservoir with marina where you can rent a boat and it also offers a good game fishing. Nice swimming beach access on Lake Hickory 13 miles ( 20 Minutes) from here: Lake Hickory Wittenburg access area (Wittenburg Access Area, 175 Wildlife Access Rd, Hickory, NC 28601) Asheville is 1:25 hrs to the West, Charlotte is 1:25 hr to the East. There are couple of Ski resorts 45 minutes to an hr away.

Our stay at this mountain campsite was fantastic! The hosts were both exceptionally kind and attentive. Ken recommended a Newland tire business to work on our truck brakes and I'm not exaggerating when I say they might have saved our lives! While the space was a smidge tight for our fifth wheel, it worked out fine. All the campsite hook-ups were pristine and easy-to-use. The location was lovely - set in a charming country club neighborhood with welcoming neighbors who went out of their way to check on us. We love Newland and felt as though we were centrally located to the places we like to visit. Thanks so much, Ken & Lyn! We will be returning, for sure!

Laura and Steve went above and beyond to ensure a safe and beautiful space to retreat. This was my birthday camping trip with my wife, best friend, and fur baby. After the success of our adventure, we plan to make this trip annually.

It was a cool little spot! We came in October and the water was low, so if you need water access be sure to ask the lake levels before you go. The yurt had all the comforts of home and Briana was extremely responsive and helpful! She provided water jugs for us so we wouldn't have to haul in our own.

Beautiful property with nice hosts. Be aware that the Pond site is not a traditional site for a RV or camper as you can not park your rig on the site where the view of the pond, picnic table and fire ring are. You have to park down the drive in a gravel lot and then access the amenities at the Pond Site. They were kind enough to let us park our 22’ Sprinter Campervan in the large grassy lot that serves as their outdoor movie theater instead of the gravel lot. That area was beautiful and we had a very nice stay.

The water was low when we were there- but it was still a peaceful spot to hang out!

Great spot! You can pack light, as most of what you need is already at the site. Host was very responsive, though we did not need much, as everything was provided. Quiet, peaceful, and private. We had two dogs with us (mine is reactive/fearful) and it was secluded enough that I did not feel that I needed to worry too much during our stay.

We loved everything about Carl’s Campsite! We stayed on Site 3, Toad Hollow and had tons of room for 2 tents and 2 canopies. The playground area was a favorite for my grand daughters (age 4 and 6) and my boyfriend and son also played horseshoes. The river was beautiful. The leaves falling, cool nights and warm days made for a rejuvenating, soul healing weekend! Did not want to leave!!!! Will definitely revisit.

We especially loved the deck to relax and enjoy the moon while playing guitar. It was peaceful and private. Having access to amenities was fantastic, and it was so thoughtful of our hosts to leave a welcome basket with instructions and helpful tips!

River Rest, at the end of the campground, is a unique campsite. It has the best river noise, with water rushing over large rocks. The River Access #2 is right on the site where the fence ends.

This stay was a first for us using this app and very pleasantly surprised and delighted with the spot with easy pull through and comfortable deck with fire pit. The variety of sweet, helpful and welcoming community members in the neighborhood was a plus. Reminds me of a great old campgrounds with lots of woods, shrubbery, unique vacation homes, camp sites or permanent little and large mountain homes. Walking around felt very safe and nice perks with the amenities.

We absolutely loved our time at the Linville Adventure Pasture. Christian was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to make our stay great. We have three boys 6-11, and we did EVERYTHING! We threw axes, rode the zip line, did a round of frisbee golf, swam in the river and jumped off the rock ledges. The location is great for other local activities as well. There is a running/biking path, a great 4.5 mile hike up Shortoff Mountain with spectacular views, close to Old NC 105 for some off-roading fun and so much more within an hour. Endless fun to be had. The property is not only beautiful but it’s also clean and safe. We highly recommend staying here and plan to come back if able. Thank you, Christian!!
