Our 65 acre farm is secluded and peaceful. We have a small pond with catfish, bluegill, large mouth bass (catch and release only) and a gentle creek. We have chickens, sheep, a pig, cows and diary goats. Enjoy a walk down to the pond and take a picture by the old farm house (from the early 1800's) or explore history in the cemetery. You could also take the kids for a hike in the forest and search for mushrooms. At the end of the day you can kick back by the fire pit, stargaze and make some s'mores. We have sheep, pigs and a donkey rotating through pastures behind electric fencing. Take a walk to say hello, but don't touch the fence! We also have 3 very friendly farm cats.
Pork and lamb from our farm (as well as kiln-dried firewood) is available for purchase at our farm store.

I turned the home into The Fab 4 House, furnishing it with authentic Mid-century Modern furniture and naming each bedroom for 1 of the Beatles. I rent it out and it is great for events. Our cabin is located in the picturesque Kibler Valley just over the Virginia state line. It is equidistant from Mt. Airy, NC, and Stuart, VA. It is located directly on the Dan River, just down the mountain from its headwaters. The property sits 4 miles down a 6.5-mile dead-end road. At the end of the road is a hydroelectric power plant. During the summer months the water from the dam is released on weekends which makes for fantastic kayaking and tubing.

Inside the Cabin:
Our cozy cabin is thoughtfully designed to provide all the comforts of home. It features warm décor, with new furnishings and a well-equipped kitchen for your cooking needs.
Main floor sleeping arrangements are a bedroom with new memory foam queen bed, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Up the loft steps, a twin bed is located in the "Eagles landing", with a new memory foam double bed in the bedroom. Please be aware that the stairs are quite steep and were not designed with railing. We recommend exercising caution when using them, especially for guests with mobility concerns, young children, or those who may be less sure-footed. Your safety and comfort are important to us, so please take care when choosing your sleeping arrangements.
There is one bathroom with a shower downstairs, located off the kitchen. A small washer dryer is also available. Please note, these can accommodate only small loads of laundry. You'll find bath towels and smaller towels specifically for drying off after a relaxing soak in the hot tub. We've stocked quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as some basic toiletries in case a guest forgets to bring an item.
In the living room, the 55" TV streams Netflix, Hulu or any app on the Roku TV (you will need your own log in). The internet is provided by Starlink and is high speed! The queen bedroom also has a Roku TV, and a selection of board games, cards, and some children's activities are available below the TV.
Outdoor Amenities:
Take a relaxing soak in the hot tub while watching the local wildlife in the meadow. Enjoy our spacious fire pit area, complete with Adirondack chairs with a grill grate—perfect for evening s'mores or grilling under the stars. Lounge in the double hammock, or challenge your friends to a friendly game of cornhole. We also provide extra camp chairs that you may take down to the creek. When exploring the field and creek area please look at boundary map in our pictures for property lines to respect our neighbors. Deer, turkey, rabbits and hawks are spotted daily, and our neighbors report occasional bear sightings.
Firewood:
For your convenience, we provide 6-8 pieces of firewood for your use during your stay. If you require additional firewood, we kindly ask that you bring your own or contact us. We offer the option to use more firewood for a small donation. Just let us know, and we'll be happy to accommodate your needs.

Cozy Bear sits right by the large noisy, trout stocked creek, with a private hot tub between the creek and the cabin, and less than five miles from Hillsville, which has a grocery store, local shops, a gym, dining, and nearby hiking. There is a shared bathhouse with a conventional toilet and an outside shower, shared with tent guests occasionally. Inside Cozy Bear, there is a queen mattress up in the loft, and a sleeper sofa downstairs. The kitchen has a sink, coffee maker and on the deck is a blackstone griddle, a propane firepit and a wood burning firepit is by the creek. Cozy Bear has a composting toilet and a shower in the bathroom, an ac window unit and a beautiful propane fireplace. If the temps get extreme outside, the waterlines do freeze. I will gladly do a full refund or change your dates if the forecast is well below freezing, although this cabin is cozy and warm inside.
Cozy Bear is solar power/ and grid and is a six mile drive to I-77 and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The cabin had a comfort of a hotel mixed with neatly groomed campsite. Visited local shops in Floyd. Recommend the Marby Mill. First and third Sundays 2_4pm have local bluegrass players at the mill. Pack a picnic and bring a chair. Really close to blue rage parkway.

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at Shirley’s place and we loved it both times! The cabin is very well equipped with anything you need cook and we love the rustic charm of the entire place. The pool was clean and refreshing. The screened porch was perfect for coffee in the mornings and scrabble in the afternoons. The stars were incredibly bright and the sunrises were amazing as always! Our dogs also loved being able to run around and explore :). We can’t recommend this hip camp enough!

Loved my stay, such a unique lodging experience, carefully curated decorations, and wonderful staff on site. Bonus points for the absolutely adorable baby goat, Eleanor Pigmy, her older siblings, the farm chickens and the super friendly dog!! A stay with animals is always so lovely! The nearby town is also super cute with a nearby coffee shop, wonderful trail to hike and great food to boot! I loved that the yellow sub had everything I needed to cook a meal, too!

One of our favorite Hipcamps to-date! Only a one-night stay, but everything was PERFECT! Listing is exactly as pictured. Cute tiny home with comfortable bed and electricity was a plus (even provided a space heater for chilly nights). Bathroom was spotless and had an amazing shower. Felt very private, despite other campers being on the property. Host was friendly and proactive about providing all the information we needed for our stay. Highly recommend this spot; would gladly stay again (and hopefully longer next time!).

As far as glamping goes, this is as nice as it gets. It felt more like an Airbnb, with the whole container being painted, decorated, and inclusive of bedding and towels. I had always wondered what it was like to stay in a converted shipping container and it felt very normal, and maybe a step up from a cabin. It's a good spot for a sleep and shower for a day or two, especially if you're looking to visit things in the local area. You'll hear the road a bit and dogs when people bring them, but it really is a good value. The bathroom has the light and fan on the same switch and the fan gets pretty loud. The water pressure is high, and you'll want to bring toiletries, but you get a hand towel, wash clothes and towels. Like others mentioned, the bed is really comfortable.

Absolutely amazing! Had everything we needed and nothing we didnt for some simple primitive camping in a cabin. Fair warning my lil Toyota Corolla did have trouble going up the gravel driveway (entirely my fault, just realized after getting home my tires are almost bald and have no tread/traction) but Darin & Beth were incredibly helpful and were kind enough to assist us and was still able to make it to the cabin 😊 cannot state enough how magical this place is, it was so quiet and peaceful. Thanks Darin & Beth for your kindness and awesome hospitality, cannot wait to go back! 🫶🏼🏕️🔥

Weekend Trip to Marshall Creek Farm
Darin and Beth didn’t miss a thing planning this hilltop cabin. The gravel driveway is steep but we had no issue climbing up to the site in a Ford Transit 250 2wd loaded heavy. Our height clearance is 9’9”. All we can say is it was a super well thought out layout and includes just enough to simply pull up and start camping in minutes. Lots of extras to discover as well. Our dog loved it. We camped at end of March so trees were still bare and the night sky was visible.

Beautiful spot! This was our first time in the area, and we stayed overnight in the cabin. We loved it—if you’re looking for a peaceful, serene place to relax, this is it. We had an absolutely amazing stay at this glamping site and couldn't have asked for a better experience! The space was incredibly clean and cosy, offering the perfect blend of comfort and nature that our dogs thoroughly enjoyed exploring. One of the highlights was definitely the company of the friendly resident cats, who made the atmosphere feel even more welcoming. The amenities were top-notch, but what really set this place apart was the flexibility; being able to add guests allowed me to host a birthday brunch for my girlfriend that turned out perfectly. With 10/10 weather and a 10/10 location, it was a flawless getaway that we won't soon forget.
