The Jones Family owns and operates JCO (Juniper Creek Outfitters) since 2020. The Historic Pond dates back to 1773 where a grist mill, sawmill, general store, and blacksmith shop were established. The land was once our 6th Great Grandfather's and how Fountaintown was formed. The property consists of 84+ acres: 22-acre lake, swamps, creeks, and farmland. We are in a farming community. We take pride in stewardship of the land and waters to keep its natural beauty and help with keeping the balance of the ecosystem. Many animals call it home! (Heron, Ducks, Osprey, Turkey, deer, beaver, fish, and many other wildlife) We have a lake Cat named Tail. She may greet you! The Ponds are stocked with Bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and more. Catch and release. NC fishing license required.
JCO currently has 9 RV/Travel Trailer sites on main side that wrap around the lake. A Floating cabin and an A-frame Glamping cabin on main side. Across the lake we have 12 primitive tent sites that spread-out around the property. Views of lake and sunset, little pond, swamp and creek views. The lake is a Fishing lake. Kayaks and trolling boats are welcome. No gas motors. Upon booking we can send a local tourism guide for the area. We are only 50 minutes from the beach and coastal towns. Pet Friendly campsites. Our little private campground is a hidden jewel in the making. Each campsite is private. We are not a parking lot like so many campgrounds are these days. We are still currently working on infrastructure but are willing to host campers that are self sufficient at a reduced rate for now. We do have a fun play ground, hiking trails, a steam we lovingly named Alligator Gore (to keep the little ones out of the mud). We are pet friendly. Each site has a fire ring or fire pit. We have a full bathroom available. We have a small camp store. We have group camp sites, pull through RV / Camper sites and a few glamping cabins. Located only 40 minutes from the NC coast and much more affordable and less crowded. We are still growing so we do not have a pool yet but will have one in the future. Almost across the street is a wonderful boat ramp and fishing spot on the Cape Fear River. Canoe down to a sand bank about a mile down river and have a romantic picnic. A Celtic themed restaurant, the Mad Boar, is just a 10 minute drive if you are looking for a unique farm to table experience. And Duplin Winery is just 15 minutes away with tastings and tours. We are very close to two public boat ramps suitable for larger boats and jet skis. Holly Shelter boat ramp is literally 2 minutes away, Shelter Creek boat ramp is 10 minutes away. Both ramps have a fishing area and allow kayaks/paddle boards.
Fishing is good on our ponds and the river year round, (bass, catfish, crappie, bowfin, gar, etc) in June hundreds of wild blueberry plants you can pick and eat. We also have prickly pear cacti for harvesting which you can cook the fruit and paddles over the fire and enjoy. If our trails aren’t enough and you want more adventure, just two miles away is the Holly Shelter game lands entrance where you’ll find thousands of acres for hunting, biking, hiking or horseback riding. And if you’re craving a beach day, Wrightsville beach is just a 30 minute drive away as well as is downtown Wilmington where you can enjoy walking the riverfront for shopping or dining.
Stargazing galore! Surrounding the property is privately owned country land- this is a phenomenal place to be amazed by the stars.
Photography lovers will be in heaven from the sunrises and sunsets golden hour is magical here! And with the diverse landscape there’s always something to capture.
Tent camping or dry rv camping only at this time. Hot Shower, sink and full size toilet are provided in the bath house. No feeding of the horses allowed, or entering fencing. campers are welcome to visit or partake in farm experience with permission.

The Secret Sanctuary Farm is a co/op located on a portion of Prince George Creek that has a double Oxbow or hairpin turns in the creek. This unique feature prevented loggers from logging the property. As a result, there are many huge old-growth trees on the property as well as a variety of fauna and flora.

There are four permanent 4 shelters on the property. Composting toilets. Showers are still in the works. All of the shelters have their own composting toilets. Small propane heaters are available for each shelter. The first 1gallon bottle off propane is free with your stay. it will last 5-7 hrs. each additional bottles will cast $6.00 per bottle. There is also solar, powered lights, usb charging stations, fans, and air coolers. each Conestego hut has a locking front door to keep your belongings safe

Boutique Campground in a Hidden Orchard
We are a boutique campground tucked away in a hidden orchard. The well-groomed property sits on a small peninsula surrounded by water on three sides. The creeks around us contain small reds, trout, mullet, gar, and various other species. It’s great fishing for kids, and the area is known for much larger fish if you have a boat.
(Note: we don’t have a boat ramp, but kayaks and paddleboards can be launched easily from shore.) The water is brackish, and locals typically don’t swim in it.
We can accommodate up to eight full-size RVs in drive-through sites (up to 55' in length). Tow vehicles can be detached and parked separately. We can also host four trucks or vans up to 25' in length in back-in sites. RV slots have 50A power and water, while truck and van sites have 30A power and water.
We also offer one primitive tent site, with three to four more planned, and a glamping tent coming in Spring 2026. All sites include picnic tables and fire pits, and tent campers are welcome to use RV sites.
Please note there isn’t much shade, so it can get hot in the middle of summer. This may be fine for RVs, but tent campers should keep an eye on temperatures. Spring, fall, and early winter are especially pleasant — perfect for sitting around a campfire under the stars. With very little light pollution, stargazing is excellent. Small solar torches provide a soft glow at night, but we recommend bringing a flashlight for walking after dark.
Our bathhouse includes toilets and sinks. We do not currently have showers, but we’re working on adding them soon.
As for location, we’re only a 12-minute drive from Oriental, the sailing capital of North Carolina — a charming, friendly town of just 999 residents. Despite its small size, Oriental hosts many local events throughout the year. About 15 minutes in the other direction, you’ll find larger stores like Walmart, as well as health services, laundromats, car washes, and more.
We’re pet-friendly — we have dogs ourselves — and generally very lenient. However, if there are several dogs on the property, we may ask guests to keep theirs on a leash, especially if any show signs of aggression.

The Jones Family owns and operates JCO (Juniper Creek Outfitters) since 2020. The Historic Pond dates back to 1773 where a grist mill, sawmill, general store, and blacksmith shop were established. The land was once our 6th Great Grandfather's and how Fountaintown was formed. The property consists of 84+ acres: 22-acre lake, swamps, creeks, and farmland. We are in a farming community. We take pride in stewardship of the land and waters to keep its natural beauty and help with keeping the balance of the ecosystem. Many animals call it home! (Heron, Ducks, Osprey, Turkey, deer, beaver, fish, and many other wildlife) We have a lake Cat named Tail. She may greet you! The Ponds are stocked with Bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and more. Catch and release. NC fishing license required.
JCO currently has 9 RV/Travel Trailer sites on main side that wrap around the lake. A Floating cabin and an A-frame Glamping cabin on main side. Across the lake we have 12 primitive tent sites that spread-out around the property. Views of lake and sunset, little pond, swamp and creek views. The lake is a Fishing lake. Kayaks and trolling boats are welcome. No gas motors. Upon booking we can send a local tourism guide for the area. We are only 50 minutes from the beach and coastal towns. Pet Friendly campsites. Our little private campground is a hidden jewel in the making. Each campsite is private. We are not a parking lot like so many campgrounds are these days. We are still currently working on infrastructure but are willing to host campers that are self sufficient at a reduced rate for now. We do have a fun play ground, hiking trails, a steam we lovingly named Alligator Gore (to keep the little ones out of the mud). We are pet friendly. Each site has a fire ring or fire pit. Fishing is good on our ponds and the river year round, (bass, catfish, crappie, bowfin, gar, etc) in June hundreds of wild blueberry plants you can pick and eat. We also have prickly pear cacti for harvesting which you can cook the fruit and paddles over the fire and enjoy. If our trails aren’t enough and you want more adventure, just two miles away is the Holly Shelter game lands entrance where you’ll find thousands of acres for hunting, biking, hiking or horseback riding. And if you’re craving a beach day, Wrightsville beach is just a 30 minute drive away as well as is downtown Wilmington where you can enjoy walking the riverfront for shopping or dining.
Stargazing galore! Surrounding the property is privately owned country land- this is a phenomenal place to be amazed by the stars.
Photography lovers will be in heaven from the sunrises and sunsets golden hour is magical here! And with the diverse landscape there’s always something to capture.
Tent camping or dry rv camping only at this time. Hot Shower, sink and full size toilet are provided in the bath house. No feeding of the horses allowed, or entering fencing. campers are welcome to visit or partake in farm experience with permission.

The Secret Sanctuary Farm is a co/op located on a portion of Prince George Creek that has a double Oxbow or hairpin turns in the creek. Boutique Campground in a Hidden Orchard
We are a boutique campground tucked away in a hidden orchard. The well-groomed property sits on a small peninsula surrounded by water on three sides. The creeks around us contain small reds, trout, mullet, gar, and various other species. It’s great fishing for kids, and the area is known for much larger fish if you have a boat.
(Note: we don’t have a boat ramp, but kayaks and paddleboards can be launched easily from shore.) The water is brackish, and locals typically don’t swim in it.
We can accommodate up to eight full-size RVs in drive-through sites (up to 55' in length). Tow vehicles can be detached and parked separately. We can also host four trucks or vans up to 25' in length in back-in sites. RV slots have 50A power and water, while truck and van sites have 30A power and water.
We also offer one primitive tent site, with three to four more planned, and a glamping tent coming in Spring 2026. All sites include picnic tables and fire pits, and tent campers are welcome to use RV sites.
Please note there isn’t much shade, so it can get hot in the middle of summer. This may be fine for RVs, but tent campers should keep an eye on temperatures. Spring, fall, and early winter are especially pleasant — perfect for sitting around a campfire under the stars. With very little light pollution, stargazing is excellent. Small solar torches provide a soft glow at night, but we recommend bringing a flashlight for walking after dark.
Our bathhouse includes toilets and sinks. We do not currently have showers, but we’re working on adding them soon.
As for location, we’re only a 12-minute drive from Oriental, the sailing capital of North Carolina — a charming, friendly town of just 999 residents. Despite its small size, Oriental hosts many local events throughout the year. About 15 minutes in the other direction, you’ll find larger stores like Walmart, as well as health services, laundromats, car washes, and more.
We’re pet-friendly — we have dogs ourselves — and generally very lenient. However, if there are several dogs on the property, we may ask guests to keep theirs on a leash, especially if any show signs of aggression.

My friends and I had a lovely, relaxing stay here! The farm is gorgeous and rustic and being right next to the horse pasture was such a treat. Watching the sun set with the horses running in the field was beautiful. The bathroom was very clean and we appreciated the very short walk to it because we got to see the little horse on the way! We stayed at The Pond Site from 11/26–11/29 for Thanksgiving, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. The property is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and felt like the perfect escape for a holiday weekend.
Patrick, our host, was incredibly kind and welcoming. He made sure we had everything we needed while still giving us plenty of space to relax. The pond itself was gorgeous, and we loved waking up to the calm water each morning.
The ducks were so fun to watch, and the nearby chickens added to the charm of the place—it felt like a little slice of countryside paradise. The site was clean, spacious, and easy to set up on, with plenty of room for cooking and relaxing.
We truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back. Thanksgiving at The Pond was memorable and wonderfully peaceful.

Just be weary if you are using hammocks. Can be slightly difficult to set up a couple hammocks that would not be in the direct woods. Woke up early to catch beautiful sunrises over the nearby pond. Took a few walks around the property. Want to come again.

Have stayed here 3 times now. This place is a camping gem. Beautiful piece of property. You really feel tucked away in the forest. Still can’t believe this is so close to my house. Highly recommend for a weekend get away! Also - the owners really take pride in these campsites. You can tell they have put a lot of hard work into their land!

Just stayed at Live Oaks Farm and it was wonderful! The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and the host was so pleasant and helpful. Access to local attractions and Topsail Island was incredibly convenient. A perfect peaceful getaway with easy access to everything. Highly recommend!

My wife and I loved it here. Site 5 was big enough for our two person tent. The cafe was useful to rinse off our dishes and the bath house was great for a quick hot shower during the cold October mornings.
