Buffalo Creek Vacations was started after our father, Harold, retired from NY as a UPS driver.  He wanted to go somewhere & experience all 4 season!  Him & our mom settled in Haywood County, NC & built their own log cabin & started raising bison.  Then, myself, 3 siblings & our spouses purchases the 40 acres behind my folks 18 acres when it came up for sale.  We decided to build a cabin & then we started rented it out in 2007.  Now, we currently have 6 cabins & 2 train cabooses for rent.  We love living in God's country & raising the bison along w/ a bunch other farm animals.  We love hosting guest on our property & decided after many calls asking if we allow camping, to include a few lucky folks to camp at Buffalo Creek.  If you are looking for something other then "car camping" & being "on top of each other" at traditional camp grounds, then give us a call & come check us out.  You will be glad you did!

Escape to a custom-built, 100% sustainable off-grid treehouse on 23 private wooded acres in Western North Carolina. Perfect for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those looking for a romantic retreat, this unique stay offers long-range mountain views, an eco-friendly design powered by solar energy, a cozy wood stove, and fresh mountain spring water. Enjoy an exhilarating outdoor shower and a homebiogas toilet with a scenic view. Thoughtfully designed with handcrafted woodwork, a charming kitchenette, copper finishes, and plush organic linens, this treehouse takes glamping to a whole new level of luxury. Meet the Highland Cows Guests have exclusive access to our adorable Highland cattle herd—Moonshine, Martini, and Mojito, the "cocktail" cows. Enjoy hiking? Well perfect because there are hundreds of trails nearby because the treehouse is equidistant to not 1, not 2, but 3 Blue Ridge Parkway entrances and is in the Pisgah National Forest. The highest point along the entire route of the Blue Ridge Parkway is located near us as well at Richland Balsam. In addition the treehouse is on a scenic byway which connects to another scenic byway. That makes the drive just breathtaking, going by farms and forest and runs along the Pigeon River which also offers tubing and amazing fly fishing. If that's not enough we are close to Asheville, Maggie Valley, Hendersonville, and Brevard. We suggest visiting our website www.flowertowncharmoffgrid.com/FAQ if you have questions! WINTER BOOKINGS: Our driveway may be impassible during winter weather and we recommend snow tires, snow chains, and/or 4x4 during the winter months due to ice. We do shut down the running water during the winter to prevent the pipes from freezing. We will provide guests with 5 gallon drinking jugs with a dispenser to use, and the toilet still has water to flush. But the shower, sink, tub, hose, and bidet will be shut down during these months. If you want the true off-grid experience this is it ;) We do require guests to e-sign our rental agreement that we will email to you, and request a $300 security deposit hold (not a charge) that we will release upon checkout. This is just a precaution for us letting people we don't know stay at our place and respecting it.

Year 8 for campers at our Farm! We hope you find the peace and beauty we've had ever since we fell in love with this property in 2012. We have welcomed a number of people from across the US as well as from several other countries. We love to share our beautiful, organic farm with friends and family as well as strangers-to-friends through Hipcamp. Take a day, weekend, or week to enjoy time in our special space! Pitch your tent or set up your camper in the primary sites next to or near the creek. 360-degree views of the mountains with famous Cold Mountain and Mt Pisgah among the views to our South. There are two large fire pits for the chillier nights/mornings with a basic grate (only 1) to go over the fire for cooking. We can supply firewood, as needed, for a small fee. It's best that you request firewood when you book your site. We have access to clean water as well as flowing water in the creek. No portapotty at this time. Check out the pictures for other views. For hikers or mountain bikers: Chestnut Mountain Nature Park includes trails for both interests just 10-12 minutes away from the Farm. The Berm Park is part of this wonderful network of trails. There are also a number of other trailheads within 45 minutes of the farm to include Little Sam Knob Trailhead and the Art Loeb/Cold Mountain Trailhead off of Hwy 215 (for hikers) and Hard Times Trailhead in Asheville for bikers and hikers. Take a look around before you come for other outdoor possibilities in the area to enjoy. Learn more about this land: We live in Beaverdam Community just north of the town of Canton. We adore our land and do our best to preserve and care for the natural beauty around us. At the farm, June is firefly month and late September/October is leaf-peeping season (no need to drive to see either of those!). We have stunning views to wake up to and babbling of the creek to lull you to sleep.

My property has supported families for several generations. From a small farm with typical livestock and vegetable gardens to a tree seedling nursery to hiking trails to cattle grazing in the fields, it has served its owners well. During the 1940's and early '50's, the Argura Post Office was located on the porch of my house. I have the original cancellation stamp. My husband is deceased, and I am hosting campers to meet people who love to camp as much as we did. My photo is with my dog Mollie. I hike with a group weekly and can make hiking suggestions as well as fishing suggestions. Harmony Glen is a wonderful place!

Add them as extra guests Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall! This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends! We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November. There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund. No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.   No fireworks. No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible) Do not cut down trees alive or dead  If you move picnic tables please move them back Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit. There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down. The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024.
